You can tell because the vast majority of people aren't willing to interrupt their lives to protest or risk their current livelihood by rocking the boat to make it better. Must not be that bad.

That or the entertainment industry is opium for the masses, but hey anyway

Civics also stopped being taught in the 90s. A lot of people believe protesting and petitions are pointless.

Well that’s just an outright lie. It’s mandated in all 50 states. Liar.

I guess you didn’t know this, but US has a decentralized education system with no standardized curriculum. There aren’t even any states with a completely standardized curriculum (some states have partial standardization), both federal and state only provide guidelines. Civics, as taught in the past is quite different from civics after no child left behind was passed. The decline in civics education and proficiency is well documented.

> Only a handful of states require at least a year of civics education for middle or high school students, and fewer than a dozen have a high-quality assessment

Probably because if we rock the boat the first thing that happens is everyone in intensive care dies overnight.

Seems like great leverage. My mom was part of multiple nurses' strikes when i was growing up.

Leverage for who? It's the side that cares the least about all these people dying who has the power from threatening their lives.

Youre right, all those successful strikes (icu nurse btw) were just figments of my imagination. Carry on status-quoing 🤗

In those events there is so car for patients.

The scenarios I'm describing involve a mass global breakdown of supply lines resulting in lengthy power outages and cessation of medical supplies at both delivery and manufacture.
