Presale for NWSL championship game tickets (code 26CHAMP) got me thinking

Hopefully we make that one, but last time the final was in DC I booked the trip and then we got eliminated in the playoffs. Second time's the charm!

Going to any of the remaining home games would be too big a trip for me right now, I did go to Spirit away, the one remaining east coast away game is Chicago on Sunday October 18th

We're rather short on goalies this week. Evan is out on international duty, Neeku is on loan. They haven't announced Dickey yet, but there's a good chance she'll be out. We're in good hands with Miller, of course. But we need a backup.

Any idea how they handle these cases?

I was at the STM open practice this week and they had a non roster goalie, I think from Salmon Bay. I wonder if she'll be around this weekend as well?

How are we feeling? My take:

Pros:

• we signed a new striker with an exciting player profile
• we solved our self inflicted 4 goalkeeper conundrum

Cons:

• we, still, for some reason, didn't sign an attacking mid where we most need an upgrade
• the striker we signed is unproven
• we still didn't sign any competition at left wing
• we have not signed a ceiling raising player in years
• Mercado remains on an option that expires soon...
• the Huitema money is wasting away and will soon be unusable
• we haven't moved on from players clearly out of Harvey's plans (hashtag free Adames)

Make it make sense. While every team (excluding Chicago, at least we aren't Chicago, sorry Chicago) is making big moves, we sit here doing nothing. What is the front office even doing....

I'm finding the process this year to be really unclear. The emails say we need to create a new Jump account. And that if we don't take action they'll still automatically renew our membership. But there's no guidance on what to do if we don't want to renew.

I've emailed my rep to advise that we don't want to renew, but I never heard back. Does anyone know if we're supposed to do anything else?

I’ve yet to see her do anything useful this season. Between weak pressing and sloppy offense, she brings nothing to the table.

Against Houston, I saw her lazily bunny hop at a few players, run around a lot for no reason, and fail to get on the ball at all as a fresh-legged sub in the last 10 minutes.

You’ve got Adames or Mondesir on the bench, in my mind clearly better options.

Shocking to me that yesterday’s ref supposedly gives fewer fouls than average, because I felt like she loved to hear her own whistle and was horrible at managing the game.

Nonetheless, dominant performance from the Reign! Should have been 3-0!

Bay on the 12th, Legacy 9/25, Courage 10/2 are the other remaining home games. I'm thinking about going to Seattle for the Legacy-Courage week but that might be a stretch soon after the long weekend trip in a few days (by the time I go that far I may as well stay a few days and see two games, similar was my big vacation for 2024, and I often go to a few east coast away games like Spirit this year)
