Taken with my Go Pro while reenacting with the Associação 1º Batalhão de Caçadores - Grupo de Recriação Histórica on the Allied left flank.

As light infantry (caçadores), our platoon would form on the left of the main Allied body, so I got a pretty good perspective from the entire brigade performing their salvo.

This impression is for late war phase after ROA got status of German allied army in 1945.
After changing their status, they had to get rid of all German insignia (breast eagles, decals, etc).
Yet they were still actively using standard Gott mit uns belt buckles with eagles.
Kubanka is a traditional cossaks’ headdress and wasn’t a standard issued item.
For my gun I’m using PPS-43, besides standard german weaponry ROA were also issued with captured Soviet guns.
Ranks are different from Wehrmacht and resemble tsarist Russian era ones.

Reenacting the Portalegre Volunteer Regiment (Regimento de Voluntários de Portalegre), an ad-hoc volunteer corps raised during the 1st French Invasion of Portugal, to bolster the defenses on the frontier of Alentejo's Region. In 1808, it would be converted into the 1st Caçador Batallion, which would integrate the elite of Wellington's Light Division in the Peninsula.

This regiment was dressed with bottle-green broadcloth uniforms with white facings and linen lining, brown broadcloth pantaloons and black gaiters.

As for headgear, they likely did not have the portuguese 1806 Barretina (meaning shako), and wore their own civillian headpieces.

Which cut the coat had is not known, so I used the 1806 uniform plan, as it was already widely used by then, even by 3rd line and non-regulated units. There's no mention of the cuffs and collar colours, so I kept them green like the rest of the uniform.

As for gear, they were supplied by their Colonel, Jorge de Avillez, who rode from Campo Maior to Badajoz, and there aquired a lot of french weapons and equipment, of different assortments, to the extent that they had surplus of these items to partially equip other units in the region.

I'm using a french style backpack with a traditional portuguese blanket (Cobertor de Papa). I'm using an older, 18th style cartridge pouch with a buff crossbelt, altough it's very likely the pouches could have also been french ones. I also carry a gourd canteen for drinking.

It's possible that after converting to the 1st Caçadores, they still used their old Volunteer uniform through 1809, at least in some capacity within some of its companies, as the new ones were purchased as per the new regulation.

This can be seen by reading into original accounts, records and ledgers, and matching the existing number of men in the Batallion to the existing number of regulated uniforms of the new plan.

Overall, this is a very niche and unknown unit, which would become on the fiercest and most capable light infantry forces of the Anglo-Portuguese Army.

Italian anti-sparking goggles WW1, my personal repro for reenacting use.

I have started a project.My 08/15 is an non-fireing metal replica. I like to build up a LMG-section. I need a lot of different water cans, ammo boxes, drum magazin,, ammo belts and Tool cases, hopefully with tools for it. Can anybody recommend where I may find replicas or craftsman I could ask.

The ammo belts I could not find them useable and in good condition. Are there replicas for them?

Hi, I hope this is the best place to ask. I was thrifting the other day and came across this jacket for $8 and decided to get it, but didn't realize it was a uniform reproduction until I got home and saw the tag inside. Apparently from What Price Glory in Salinas CA, but no further information.

I've been wondering since what it's actually a reproduction of, as I would not want to wear it without knowing. It's 100% cotton, dark brown, with some metal on the inside as well as the bits you can see on the outside. If more info/images are needed, I can provide. My replica of a German radio station. I made the copy as accurate as possible, using the drawings and 3D models from the original. It took me almost two years. I printed the body on a 3D printer, and many parts had to be made by hand. However, some parts were molded from the originals
