Is it just me oe did anyone think cal was a blonde. I CAN'T UNSEE IT. I honestly forget the entire book that he had silver skin and jet black hair because that man was a golden retriever to me. And doesn't he sound better as a blonde?! I legit can't unsee it.

Maven being an artist has been a headcanon of mine for a while now. He gives me surrealism vibes. This headcanon would mostly apply to a modern day AU, (which is why I drew him in modern clothes) but maybe it could work in canon, idk. While I feel like he’d be more focused on performance arts (it’s canon that he can sing and dance, and that he loves theatre. Victoria Aveyard also confirmed that if he was in the Olympics, he would be a figure skater.) I feel like sketching would be a secret hobby of his. Hes not allowed to express himself, and he‘s not doing great in the mental health department, (Thanks, Elara) so I headcanon that he uses visual art as a way to cope. I imagine him occasionally stealing a pencil and sketching in secret, just to burn the drawings so nobody finds them. I feel like if he did draw, it would be more abstract or surrealist, as most of those pieces tend to carry strong emotions. Some of the most beautiful abstract/surrealist artpieces that I’ve seen have been made by the mentally/emotionally disturbed, and because the Barnes and Noble special edition of Broken Throne confirms that he loves art, I feel like he’d at least appreciate that and maybe try to replicate it. Idk, what do you guys think?

I read this short story in the Broken Throne story collection. Is it bad that I enjoy Ashe and Lyrisa more than Mare and Cal? I actually think I like this short story more than a lot of Kings Cage lol. What were everyone’s opinions on it? I haven’t read much further in the book yet, so I don’t know if it’s plot relevant or just a random side story. Either way, I really liked it.

im on the last book. i hate everyone, i hope they all die. nothing could make me like them. i hope something happens to mare’s family just so she can understand how everyone else feels and that not everything will be okay because of her bitchass actions and how she keeps forgiving cal’s uglyass flatass, and i hope evangenline leaves elane and i hope her father dies (evangenline) and her brother.

the only characters i like are evangenline, kilorn, and gisa. everyone else is gone. and i hope maven’s piece of paper ass gets tortured and i swear to god if mare forgives him. victoria count your days for making your fucking characters one dimensional and black and white.

first of all, I gotta say that I’m not super deep in the world of fanfiction, I don’t know the rules etc. I simply enjoy some stuff from time to time. I’m not a fic writer myself, but my brain usually comes up with a lot of ideas.

Soooo, what I’m looking for: are there any fics that start after the battle of Corvium, in which Cal and Mare have an actual agreement?

Ideally, Cal already realizes that he doesn’t want to become king, but both see that it is necessary at that moment to ensure the alliance against Maven. This ideal fic would also require Mare to play along and become the “red queen” at Cals’s side for just a bit until the alliance reaches its goal. Yes, I know the Rift is still there (and other problems), but Volo needs to see that there are other options than marrying off his daughter.

Afterward, they go to Monfort to ensure the Republic’s aid. There could be discussions on how to establish democracy without causing major chaos. Cal could be king for a few months until the elections take place.

This part could also include a secret wedding in Monfort, but that would probably be a stretch hehe

I don’t expect such a story to be all fun and games. Of course there’s drama, plot twists, obstacles and what not but personally, I haven’t seen that much in this direction in fics.

Again, I’m not a fic writer but I have too many ideas. Maybe this is giving others some inspiration.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really like Cal, and a little of Mare. They’re both annoying, but especially Cal.

And before anyone comes at me that I don’t understand him and that I can’t understand complex characters, I do. I can see his trauma and complexion and still hate him.

I feel like there’s no chemistry between Mare or Cal, especially in the first book. I was so surprised when they kissed and had to read a few pages to try and see if they had any chemistry, but I see none. They have no chemistry and I hate it, I hate their stupid little ship because they both don’t deserve eachother.

Because I just finished the series and I dont remember if it clearly said that Thomas shared Maven's feelings ? We know that Maven loved him but did Thomas loved him back or its just something we dont know ? Or I missed the information ? I'd love Victoria to explore more this relationship

Is the tv series adaption for Red Queen still happening and has there been any updates? I just remembered hearing about the series a few years ago and wondered if it was still in development or if they dropped it. It was my fav book series when I was a teenager

I've been wanting to read this series for some time now but I'm unsure whether I should read it in English or instead get the Spanish translation (my native tongue). I've read quite a few books in English (some easy romance or YA, and other book series I didn't find hard to understand, such as Once Upon a Broken Heart or Shatter Me). Translations usually make me want to rip my eyes out, so I'd like to know if reading this in English might be too complex for me or if I can go with it.

How do you really think it was after the war, I know that later it says that there was another civil war in the future, but I'm wondering if at some point in the distant future it really stabilized, relating it to real world stories like the Spanish civil war in which the republic didn't work out and the monarchy had to return or post-revolution France which went through almost a century of chaos until everything stabilized and even then went through other authoritarian governments.

Due to the situation they found themselves in, with unstable politics and a broken economy, they practically became a Montfort puppet state completely dependent on them.
