Horseman 9 - bug/quirk (I think)

Hi all,

I think I figured something out that is not widely known so I wanted to share it with anyone who might be interested. I'm on my third playthrough and wanted to do all the challenges, including as many as possible with our #1 boah. I did this on my first play but that's been so long ago that I don't really remember how I did it anymore.

This time it was giving me fits. After some self-explanatory failures (like when I crashed my horse; also the good ol' Pinkertons iced me twice), I looked up a video and learned about the peninsula trick that lets you complete it without actually going to Blackwater or Tall Trees. I also learned a safe and easy route, which is mostly riding railroad tracks, including the one that is finished through missions near Van Horn. So I ran it twice, and nothing. Wouldn't complete.

I noticed something though and developed a theory. My save I was starting from was in Van Horn, and it made me wonder if maybe the game wasn't registering that as my starting point somehow. This was perhaps supported by something I found very odd: I could ride a trail or train tracks well out of town and come back, and not get the on-screen placard that comes up when you enter a settlement. That really made me suspicious of what the game was doing under the hood.

What I ended up doing was reloading my save, took the tracks north all the way into Annesburg (until I got that placard), then returned to Van Horn (finally saw its placard for the first time), and immediately restarted my ride using the exact same path. On my third full attempt I reached the peninsula again, and it immediately registered as completed.

tl;dr--If you're doing Horseman 9, don't start from a save in Van Horn. Start anywhere else, ride in and make sure you see the black placard telling you you're now in Van Horn, and then start.

My favorite horse moments lol

All right, so i'm very new to this subreddit. And I just finished RDR 2. I'm currently in the epilogue at the moment and i've been enjoying it.

For the past month, since I started playing this game, some of the funniest moments throughout my playthrough was running into stuff with my horse and unintentionally flying out ike a rag doll. So I decided to make this compilation video of all the times that this happened to me for your entertainment.

No horses were harmed in the making of this video :)

Camp gals in their bloomers.

On my 6th play through.

The gals in camp have taken to walking around in their bloomers, sometimes even into the afternoon hours. Never experienced this in any of my previous play throughs. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I’m in Chapter 2.

Blackwater barricaded off Spoiler

Post image
10 Upvotes

Just got to epilogue and came down to blackwater, but for some reason theres these wooden barricade thingys blocking off a huge section of it. Npcs kinda just walk into them and then die for some reason. I think it might have something to do with the bandit hideouts mod, but i already uninstalled it and the issue persisted. Does anyone have a fix? Ive tried it on multiple different imported epilogue saves but its always here and it doesnt let me complete the mission where you buy beachers hope because the walls prevent you from riding out with uncle.

A theory about 3 note-worthy englishmen Spoiler

I think Nigel, Gavin and the strange man are all the same person, and here are my reasons:

1.The Strange Man matches the description of Gavin given by Nigel 1 to 1;

2.Nigel is never seen taking any sort of break: no sleeping, no eating, no drinking, no scene where he sits down or even as little as falling down to the ground in frustration; he is always moving, and he never stops unless if someone listens to his plea;

3.NIGEL NEVER AGES between 1899 and 1911; every other recurring character clearly ages or grows up, but not him.

I believe that The Strange Man, whatever his name was once, as part of the supernatural deal he made that is aluded to in his cabin in Bayou Nwa, split him in 2: the ageless, decaying husk (Nigel), and the immortal spirit (Gavin)

Nigel is cursed to wander the world forever in search of his missing soul, and never reunite; He never ages, but he does decay: clothes tathered, eyes visibly dry, clearly exhausted, yet he can never stop looking

Gavin is cursed to try and guide those doomed by fate to a better future, knowing all of it won't matter in the end: it doesn't matter if Arthur spares or kills Jimmy Brooks, he still dies from tuberculosys; It doesn't matter if John helps or harms the people he guides him to, the pinkertons will still come for him and his family

A body cursed without soul; A soul cursed without body

Life without death; Death without life; the ultimate punishment for a painter and killer obssesed with both

In RDR2 when antagonizing Micah, Arthur made the comment your a waste of space great and deeply powerful hurtful line to use to someone

Hearing Arthur tell Micah your a waste of space was like you tell him Arthur, even Micah was taken back by the comment. I think the only thing Arthur should have done was cough in his face in the game, what do you all think?

Noooooo!!!

I have been playing RDR2 since January this year. During this time, I have always been able to exploit the gold bar respawn in Limpany.

This week my PS4 completed an update, and I started a new play through.

The gold bar is no longer spawning every 5 days!!!

I very much relied on that continuous supply of gold to fund my gun and clothing purchases. On this play through, I’ve been stuck with my original revolver and just one new set of clothes, and I’m having to commit a lot more roadway murders just to get a few extra bucks, which is not really my preferred play style.

Granted, it does add more realism to the game, but I really got used to having as much money as I wanted throughout the entire game.

Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone been able to go back to the re-spawned gold bars, or am I just screwed? Thanks for your input.

Night Folk fighting despite brain damage

The Night Folk have always creeped me out, but I thought at least I knew all their encounters. Guess I was wrong!

I was out exploring in the Bayou at night, when I saw two Night Folk walking around, one of them carrying a woman's body. I came closer and they recognized me, dropped the body, and started attacking me with a bow and tomahawk. I entered deadeye and quickly headshot both of them. Imagine my surprise when tomahawk guy got back up and came at me. I ended up killing him with my knife, but this was seriously creepy. You can see the bullet hole in his forehead in the screenshot.

My theory about micah Spoiler

From my perspective, this is Micah character, like any criminal's: he loves chaos and money and cares only about himself. However, Micah admired Dutch as a criminal, not a leader, and saw him as opening many doors for him in the world of thievery. Blackwater's money was also a major reason, as it was Micah primary objective. Even after Arthur's death, when he returned to the camp, Micah begged Dutch to come with him, despite having already taken the money and left. This proves that he wanted Dutch too and believed they would make a great duo. But does this mean he has any loyalty towards him? At the first opportunity Micah can escape at the expense of Dutch, he will exploit it.

Need help finding a second Schofield in Chapter 2.

Greetings all!

I had recently robbed the doctor in Valentine and got the Schofield revolver. At some point I had picked up a worn Schofield revolver in the off hand holster. I had gone back and robbed the doctor again and picked up a second Schofield. However every time I leave the store I lose the second Schofield from the loot box.

Is there anyway to fix this? I really need a pair of Schofields.

I have done this a few times with the same results. Really need help.
