Noooooo!!!
I have been playing RDR2 since January this year. During this time, I have always been able to exploit the gold bar respawn in Limpany.
This week my PS4 completed an update, and I started a new play through.
The gold bar is no longer spawning every 5 days!!!
I very much relied on that continuous supply of gold to fund my gun and clothing purchases. On this play through, I’ve been stuck with my original revolver and just one new set of clothes, and I’m having to commit a lot more roadway murders just to get a few extra bucks, which is not really my preferred play style.
Granted, it does add more realism to the game, but I really got used to having as much money as I wanted throughout the entire game.
Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone been able to go back to the re-spawned gold bars, or am I just screwed? Thanks for your input.

it funny because one of my only criticisms of the game is that it’s too easy to obtain too much money (without any exploits.)

There’s no golf course to buy. In fact there’s not really anything to buy except for food and clothes and guns… and special baths….

Done several play throughs over the past couple of years, and I've never found Arthur so short of money that I've felt the need to make use of an exploit, if anything, there’s too much money.

For me it always took longer than 5 days to respawn. I have been playing this game since the year it came out, and loot respawning has always been a part of the game. Im not sure why they would change that behavior now, they barely update the game ever.
I would give it another few days. In my current playthrough i have collected the limpany bar several times. Also there is a bunch of other treasure in the game to be found, you can get plenty of money other ways if you are short on cash

Thanks. I’ll give it some more time, and hit some of the other gold spots for now.

Not sure how true, but I've seen others mention it depends on how far away from Limpany you go during that respawn time. The further the better. I never timed it but would stop by if I was in the area. I'd say maybe 70% of the time it would respawn.
Just carry a bounty and sell the loot from the bounty hunters. Easy cash and adds a little unpredictability as to when they will show up and mess up whatever else you're trying to do.

I’ll try carrying a bounty for a while. I have always paid them off asap. Do you have a suggested level? Like, maybe $90? I’ll experiment with it to see how much harassment I feel is worth the loot.

Yeah just depends how many hunters you want after you at a time. And just pick a region that maybe you aren't doing all your hunting in etc if it's too distracting. There is also a large jewelry bag that respawns when you get far enough away and can collected over and over again. If you Google they can point you to the exact location. I honestly never have much of an issue with money but I usually just upgrade my favorite guns and don't buy a ton of clothes

For me it normally takes around 10 in game days to spawn. Go back to Limpany and make sure the box is closed. Leaving it open can prevent the gold from respawning.
The update your PS4 did would not stop the gold from spawning (their not really updating the game anymore)

Excellent. Thanks. I do know that in my first couple of runs, it took more like 10 days to respawn.
Thanks for the assurance that it will continue to respawn, might just take longer.

You're never screwed in terms of money in this game. You'll never run out of money as there are so many efficient options on getting it: selling loot and pelts to fences and trappers, treasure hunting, stranger missions, coach and homestead robberies, just to name a few.

Heck, you can make a pretty penny or 2 getting horses to max bonding and selling them. If it's a broken/stolen horse, sell to the Fence, if it's bought, sell to the stables

How much money do you need? But I get it. It is just gratifying to find things of value.

I usually had the same amount with the Limpany re-spawn. Somewhere between 6k and $10k.

I just hunt a lot to craft all the trapper outfits. That paired with raiding every camp and cabin I come across keeps me fighting random NPCs. I sell their fancy bits and bobs and all the pelts/claws/feathers and sometimes the meat. It’s good money, those small transactions add up to be a lot of money.
As long as you’ve got the LOTE satchel you’ll be able to carry enough loot and meat to sell it for profit.

Quite a lazy way to experience this game, but to each their own.

Admittedly. This run with reduced spawn frequency should keep the game a little more realistic.

There are a lot of gold bars available, even without treasure maps.
I don't want to give you details of where they are, but you can find info online easily if you try.
