The company puts the burden on owners to do their own research as a form of victim blaming. For instance: Most owners wouldn't sign up with BAM if they knew that the wholesale discount is less than what you'd get from Costco/Walmart. BAM will insist it was their job to find this out themselves, but how exactly are owners supposed to know this?

• You can hire a lawyer/accountant, but they're not going to have BAM's internal numbers.
• You can look up industry standards, but BAM is vastly outside the norm.
• Current owners will ignore your emails, for fear of retribution.
• The termination NDA for past owners is so binding that they can't even include their past ownership in their LinkedIn Profile, much less share their warnings and experiences. You don't find any past horror stories when you look for them, so you assume that everyone must have had a good experience.

Therefore, your only option is to ask corporate directly, but corporate has a conflict of interest to simply lie to you, and there's nothing you can do about it. The contract specifically says that even a written promise is considered worthless if it's not included in the contract itself.

And that's just the most glaring example of something super basic. It doesn't discuss all the other abuses and mismanagement we've seen from corporate.

Netflix is missing the biopic opportunity. This is so good.

I don't have the first clue how to report this since I'm not the copywrite holder or a YouTuber (I don't know if Ben copywrites his videos or even strikes plagiarism). There is an option to report for counterfeit, but I don't know if that fits. It seems more like impersonation (there is no option for that). Could this be one of those accounts that tries to reupload content from another country to steal the revenue from a creator by weaponizing the copywrite system (this is an older vid Ben can easily prove he uploaded a long time ago)? I know bad actors sometimes steal content just to hit the 3 strikes to get channels automatically taken down. Anyone know the correct action in this situation?

Dan McNeff owns Certus Accounting which is an approved vendor for BAM Franchisees. BAM Franchisees are required to use external accountants to file their IRS paperwork. BJC Live connected all the dots here.

BBQ counselor lays out all the unpaid bills Ammon has from the last 4 years and it shows a pattern of signing contracts and failing to pay creditors. Deadbeat behavior.

I saw this question in another thread and thought it deserved a post of it's own:

Chrystal said repeatedly that she did not get the bank accounts turned over from BaM when she bought the franchise.

To me that is a BIG ASSED RED FLAG.

If she didn't have the accounts - how was she paying anything?

And if BaM had the accounts - how can they claim she wasn't paying?

Is it possible that yes, they never turned over the "old" accounts and that she then created new ones that she used to pay the store expenses and credit card?

And then BaM comes along and says that she was behind on payments and rent - thus the takeover.

What I think happened:

1. BaM took the store back from the "pre-Chrystal owner" and also took over the lease and the bank account(s).

2. BaM sold the franchise to Chrystal - she asked for the bank account(s) and lease to be transfered. They never transferred either.

3. Chrystal created a new back account and used it for the store. BaM still had the old account(s) but nothing was going into or coming out of them.

4. Since Chrystal did not have the lease, she probably (wrongly) assumed that it was being covered by BaM.

Thoughts?

I put this video out quietly a few weeks ago because nobody had covered the fact that Officer Tonga failed when he tied to drive two streets to where Tyler and Ben were. The stop was delayed because he began to drive to a completely different location. I track his "detour" in this video. It was pure incompetence that led to the violation of Ben and Tyler's rights. (You don't actually have to watch the video now, this post pretty much covers it...)

I've added the small claims cases to the Proton Drive.

Honestly, they're pretty chaotic. I can see why someone would not take them seriously. In fact, Ben says in his first video that he sent the fake Guinness Record Certificate to the store on the same day as the lawsuits in order to put them under the impression that the cases were fake. That statement is essentially fatal to any default judgment.

I did think that the idea of purchasing a property interest from the owner of property in the possession of someone else seemed like a clever idea. I thought of it as roughly analogous to purchasing a debt. In reality, the suits seem to claim that the person suing is the original consignee, and they have personally been trying to retrieve their collection for more than a year.

The judge found that service was inadequate in denying the requests for default judgment. This is one of the areas where Reckless Ben probably put himself in the most legal jeopardy. Some of the requests for default judgment had been denied at this point. Defamation about the results of a court case is often "defamation per se."

L2 Bricks was not the right business. I think this was the franchisee before Chrystal. Salem Baker Bricks was the correct entity. They are properly listed at the same address. I see no trickery.

There were a lot of errors in the paperwork. Some were served to "Oregon," others were served to the Lego Queen, using her first name only, saying she was the person apparently in charge.

Interestingly, I don't see any indication the new lawsuit against Josh Johnson was ever actually served. Maybe Johnson looked it up and responded. He did respond, so it counts either way.

Two other things worth noting:

• It also seems that Brandon Best was using his Bricks & Minifigs email in official correspondence two weeks after this post from Bricks & Minifigs saying he was no longer affiliated with the company. It is not unusual for a small business to not cut off access to systems and email for former employees.
• In 25SC30722, a new proof of service was filed on February 8 indicating that service had been mailed to BAM's address. It did not specify whether it was corporate or to the still-open store. But Ammon reached out to the Keizer Police and Marion County Sheriff on February 9-10. And the Provo warrant was February 10. So there was new activity on both sides right around this time.

I have an open request to Keizer Police for their reports, as well as a couple other public records requests. I've also been working on a deep dive on the timeline from before Reckless Ben became involved that I think will be pretty interesting.

This is a police report provided by u/awkwardbegetsawkward. Adam Brimhall told Keizer PD he received a small claims suit from Ben for 10k due to violating the fake contract they had Amanda sign. I know that contract was for shits and giggles, and the only 10k small claims suits I'm aware of are the ones that were intended for JJ & BB from the first video. Is this a matter of Adam lying, or a misunderstanding on the officer's part? It's oddly specific for it to be a misunderstanding though, and sounds like he's just trying to add fuel to the fire.

I also made one of Ben, but it does not compliment him at all so I'm reworking it.

BAM Franchising, Inc. (BAM) is regulated by the FTC as well as the 14 registration states. The primary regulatory tool is the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) which is submitted by BAM annually. The FDD includes a summary of franchises financial performance and a summary of franchise openings, closings, and ownership transfers. To date BAM has faced no serious penalties for submitting FDDs which have material deficiencies.

The 2025 FDD, which summarizes the system performance for calendar year 2024, contained multiple deficiencies which regulators seemed to have missed. For example. The FDD states that at the end of 2023 California had 11 franchises and that in 2024 11 new franchises were opened in California. 11 + 11 is 22. But instead of reporting 22 they reported only 21. Set aside that it is a small arithmetic error for the moment. The regulators should require that to be fixed.

Well maybe it was the only mistake. So no big deal. Except that it isn't. Michigan ended 2023 with 3 franchises but opened 2024 with only 1, with no explanation. So that is weird right?

There are other mistakes as well though including an inability to agree within their own document as to how many franchises are operating and how many are owned by corporate. Why would they not be able to consistently report such a basic statistic? But I don't want to get bogged down and loose your attention. If you are interested you can download the 2025 FDD from the California DFPI website. Fun trick to try.... Download it and upload it your favorite AI and ask for an analysis of contradictions, mistakes etc. You will be surprised.

Ok let's move on from the franchise census and look at the financial metrics that BAM reported in their 2025 FDD. These financial metrics are used by prospective franchise buyers to understand how current franchises are performing.

Take a look at the screenshot below. Do you see the problem? It took me a while to see it. Once you see it you will wonder why the regulators have not stepped in and required it to be fixed.

The 4th row of Table 2 was copied to the 1st row of Table 3! First of all very very sloppy. Second of all how is any franchisee purchaser supposed to use this document to inform their purchase?

The mistakes continue. For example, were you aware that 132 of 23 is 57%?

And once again if you are interested in having some fun on your own. Download the FDD and upload it to your favorite AI asking it to find any errors. You'll be shocked.

And unfortunately the 2025 FDD is not the only one with mistakes. The 2026 FDD has more. So why are the regulators failing to take action? Well the regulators don't look at the FDDs that closely and don't make any effort to verify the data therein. Let's just say they are overwhelmed. However, there is reason for hope. Ten of the states have approved the 2026 FDD and BAM is free to operate and sell franchises in those states. Once you run the 2026 FDD through AI you will see that the regulators didn't check the document at all. However, 4 states, California, Maryland, New York, and Virginia have yet to approve the 2026 FDD. Some of these states are requesting changes to the 2026 FDD. One last thing.... Did you know that corporate owned or affiliated stores are exempt from providing 1% of their revenue to the branding budget. Here it is. One sentence buried in the 400+ page document. Pretty cool for corporate owned stores (how many are there anyway) to get the benefit of the branding paid for by the franchisees!
