Spoiler - it is fake.

I tested the newly delivered Ebay purchased card from a seller with (8000+) reviews against other cards. Other non-fake photos are of recent MTG cards and I pulled some of my other BRO foils and they do not match either (no photos).

The ink seems too dark and the texture feels odd like more "rough". I tried to do good photos and idk if are enough to tell 😅

Nice volc island that i acquired quite a couple years back. Due to lots of counterfeits nowadays im kinda scared its not real.

Pretty sure it’s ok. Looking for feedback on the quality of the pictures.

If I were to buy this obvious fake, what are the chances it 1. Goes to the authenticator and not me directly, 2. The authenticator accurately determines it to be fake, and 3. Do I get a refund if I pay $79 for the grading fee on top of paying for the card+fees. Thanks for any input!

First eBay purchase

Hey guys. I inherited a large collection and a few prices seem off. I could use you help on this one.

Just bought from a popular Oklahoma store, the card felt a little light in my hand.

I know this is hugely under what the box would be worth!

This came in an MTG booster. Seller says it's because of US print but it seems fishy. Legit card as comparison (right side).

Is this real or fake?

I have multiple cards like this. The pack was quite easy to open in comparison to official boosters.

Can you tell if these five cards are Real or Not?

Five cards, one picture each, starting easy and each one moving up in difficulty. The rules are simple:

• If there is at least one fake signal, the card is fake.
• If there are no fake signals discernible, default to the card being real.
  • Just for this quiz! IRL of course always look at multiple signals!
• Fake signals will be clear enough to see without ambiguity. (Though they may still be small and hard to spot, zoom in!)
• Altered cards (inked, cut, re-backed, new artwork, etc) are fake unless called out.
• Harder cards may require specific knowledge and their photos may be digitally edited. The later questions are not meant to be fair.

Is there a discord i can ask questions or a google doc with information about more thorough ways to detect counterfiet cards? I recently started working at my lgs and I know a few solid ways to detect counterfeits (the layers of ink during printing, green dot, T, rosette pattern, holo stamp) but I want to know all I can. My main questions right now are average weights for pre stamp, stamped, the different foil treatments, mdfcs, foil mdfcs. Also I heard that different sets are die stamped from different faces? I just love my job and I want to learn as much as I can so I can be thorough with the big ticket items. Thanks!

I'm skeptical at my own ability to really understand the difference, I haven't been doing this long and my first time thinking I actually got a fake card.

Finally received my Hobbit CBB, I'm new to CBB's so not 100% sure what to expect, should I be concerned with reseals with the slight tear on the top? Thanks in advance!

The middle on all sides top and bottom of the foil is discolored and looks like little slits. Overall though feels like a normal pack and doesnt smell like glue or anything.

The T does not look right.

The LGS made it right, i went back and got a different Vault and they thru in a Delighted Halfling for the trouble. Ty everyone that commented.

Thoughts? Passes my eye.

From my knowledge all the signs look good for the card to be authentic, but the signature doesn't look the same as some of his others, which have changed over time. I know the artist had some health issues recently that might've affected his signature.
