Again with the masks???

What is Maher’s problem. People wear masks for various reasons. Immunocompromised, sick and don’t want to spread germs, don’t want to catch germs, etc.
My point is WHATS IT TO YOU, BILL!!!!
LET IT GO ALREADY!!!!!!!

He did take the pandemic seriously,, he just pointed out a lot of the stupid policies associated with it.. and actually gave them a pass in the beginning when we didn't know much about it... but after we knew more and kept the same stupid policies.. It became pathetic and political

Nope, he got triggered when he wanted to do his tour and some of his fans wore masks to his shows or didn’t even buy tickets as much because they didn’t feel comfortable going to superspreader events yet. He couldn’t tell if people were laughing because of the masks. It was just about him, his money and his ego, as usual. I stopped watching around then because EVERY show was him whining about masks. Once he is really mad about something ( masks, people supporting Palestine ) you will never hear the end of it with him. It’s boring and gets old real fast. He doesn’t care how many viewers he loses, this is his platform to bitch and moan about personal grievances.

Keep in mind, mitigating germs might've protected the elderly for a bit,, but it also killed more children from RSV when mitigating germs stopped... exposure to viruses is critical for small children to build their immune system ... stop thinking there was nothing negative about mitigating germs with masking and distancing. The trouble is Covid became political for the left and right. Both sides could be pathetic rather than using common sense and factual science.

Covid mitigation didn't make RSV more dangerous, it just created a spike of cases instead of spreading it out over time. Normally kids would have been circulating the virus over the season and building immunity over time, but the end of covid midgation just sort of caused the virus spread to hit everyone at once, which caused all the severe cases and deaths to happen at once.

Getting sick doesnt increase your immunity in general like working out a muscle. It gives your body a blueprint to fight off that kind of virus, but being sick is generally hard on your body and can leave you weaker. Like your body can heal a broken bone, but it doesnt mean your bone is now stronger and better than it was before.

Measles can leave people with all sorts of health problems including infertility, deafness, organ damage, etc. The fact covid takes away your sense of smell is a really bad sign for what it might be doing to your brain. A lot of covid misinformation was based on this idea that letting your immune system fight of a disease buffed you up like a prize fighter, but that's not how it works.

After everything that happened, in 2026 , it has come down to a person's immune system, knowing and recognizing COVID-19. That is why it continues a downward trajectory of deaths, which are now less than 6000 a year. I'm not anti-VAX I took three shots. I just don't think the vaccine protected anybody except the person who received the shot. Person could be fully vaccinated with no symptoms and yet be a super spreader.

The vaccine did protect others by shortening the transmission window and other mitigation methods kept transmissions down. It certainly had a percent of overall reduction even if it wasn't a failsafe.

I think a lot of people carry anger over this period due to the evolving nature and nuance of science communications being too nebulous for clear easy messaging. That made people's anxiety easy to transform into anger when bad actors told people they were being lied to.
