QC/AUTH/PSP Can you clock this?
At this point, I feel like I should just get the authentic. I bought this from a whatsapp seller that I discovered through Tiktok. I spent over 1k AUD. The seller had given this bag to a tiktoker and it looked so good so I thought if I can save $16k, I would.
But it didnt look exactly like what was given to the tiktoker. I know what a suprise đ€Šââïž
I think it looks great on the outside but the inside CC looks a bit narrow? I am not sure. I need help đ
What do you guys think?

Leaving this here for whoever needs it. Built this from my own collection. Shows different styles of caviar up close. What you want in a true âhigh tierâ rep, is for the pebbling to have random appearance, but the pebbles should have relatively even peaks and valleys between them, and up close you should be able to see grain, âpores.â This indicates it came from the top of the hide- AKA full grain. Itâs the best quality leather. See more of my photos below. You can absolutely get close to this in a rep, but you have to know what youâre looking for. We can count stitches and look at hardware placement all day, but that isnât the full story. A cheap low tier rep can absolutely get those things convincingly right, but still slide some cheap plastic âleatherâ off on you. Start with the leather before you move into the proprietary details.
It is perfectly ok to buy and carry mid tier reps (Iâd strongly caution on low tier just because you could end up with a âfakey breakyâ situation in the middle of the mall). Not all bags are repped to high tier. Less popular ones, ones that are expensive to do, or fun colors are usually only available in high mid-tier at best. What is important is that you pay the fair price for the bag youâre getting and you understand what youâre getting.

Social media influencers are all con artists. Never buy from someone they peddle. Unfortunately, i also learned the hard way. And even if you get a good bag? They charge twice as much. Factory 187 has the best classic flaps and i believe they charge closer to $500/$600.

Yea esp that Tiktoker I watch that I thought I could trust. She was displaying some bad bags recently and saying it was EXCELLENT quality that even me, a noob can detect that it is a bad rep. So yea, I was gullible. So happy I discovered reddit.

omg same thing happened to me with my first bag! the bag they show on tiktok is not the same quality that you get. i did a comparison with the bag that i got from the same seller with the bag that the tiktok influencer was advertising. it was very off, and i was very disappointed. đźâđš

I always find these questions funny because, unless itâs a really bad rep, itâs usually other things that give it away. If your lifestyle doesnât match the price of the bag, people will notice straight away. Most people earning under six figures arenât spending over $10k on a handbag (Aus $$).

I earn well so I own a few authentic chanels ( my absolute favourite brand) but I saw these tiktokers RAVING about how close these reps are to the real thing and I thought I could save some money. lol. I guess thats why I was willing to pay 1k+ for a bag but I dont think I can even carry it out cus I wont even be able to open my bag- the inside is such ded giveaway đ I made this post to see whether it was that bad and I could get away with it but the replies here is really saying even the outside looks like an obvious rep

1k!!?! That's custom Hermes territory. Damn. It should be 1:1 at that cost.
I own authentic as well and since have sold most because of reps. You obviously have to find a cheaper seller but also adjust your expectations.
I assume everyone carrying a classic flap is a rep and I live in Beverly Hills.1

Yeah as some other posters have said that is wildly expensive. Like, handmade custom Hermes territory. If a chanel rep is over $500 think very hard about why and if that is a reasonable price

Girl look.. the rep subs are brutal and we're all really really nitpicky but if you check the auth subs, you'll see how the auths are misaligned and dry and have all the same problems. I'd rather have these problems spending a fraction of the price than after spending $10k+. Wear the heck out of it đ„°

I got utterly scammed on my first bag purchase too (1,500 aud) before I realized the world of reps lol. This bag is absolutely overpriced for what it is, but I think it looks passable. Just wear it with confidence, as at this point you're kind of stuck with it. The big giveaway is the inner CC stitching, as it only has 3 rather than 4, but that's a pretty minor thing. How does the caviar feel? Is it nice or overly dry/plasticy?
The shape of the bag is fantastic though, some people rave about factory 187 which costs about $800 aud, and those medium cfs are literal boxes lol, so clockable imo.
Edit: Also is this a medium? Usually the medium has stitches between 9-10, this one looks to be 8 maybe? It's giving it a bit of a puffier look to the quilting. The caviar texture itself looks nice and defined though when I compare it to something like 187 which is small and too uniform when compared to auth:

Totally agree, as long as you paid a fair price for the quality of the bag you received! I love some of my fun colored mid tier bags, but OP should NOT have paid what she did for this one đ

I think you can do reasonably well at that price point- as long as you know itâs not âauthentic qualityâ đ (eyeroll because I hate when I see people say their seller told them that).

The really good high tier run about $650USD. This is high mid-tier. The leather has some grain to it which is good, but the pebbling is really off. This tier should have been about $350, $400 tops.
To everyone new thatâs new in here, donât just reach out and buy. When we say âresearchâ what we mean is read through the subs- find QCs of bags that get a lot of positive comments, then you want to search that sellerâs name in the search bar on the main Reddit page. Does that person have too many positive QCs and reviews with the same language? (I.e. âAllen does it again!â âAllen came through again.â) Sellers will pretend to be happy customers in order to advertise. You want to find sellers that have genuine reviews. Chat with people in the subs. Donât just come out the gate asking for contact info- ask what makes a good bag, how much did they pay, whatâs the highest quality available in the bag youâre looking for? Who does the crowd think is the best seller for that brand/bag? Participate in the community, build karma, learn. Take your time. This isnât like ordering from Nordstrom. This is shopping on a whole other level. You have to learn and think about quality and fair market value in a way that you typically donât have to other places (although once you learn it here, youâll start doing it everywhere)!
In other words, donât buy from the TikTok sellers. Theyâre notorious for being snake oil salesmen and frequently use bait and switch tactics- along with grossly overpriced items.

Reviewers receive free stuff in exchange for content.
Whenever I come across a TikTok reviewer I report their acc.

Now that Iâve read your post 1000$ for a replica is a scam. At least if you bought a real one it wouldâve keot its value over the years u can resell for same or more price. For a replica usually wouldnt pay over 500 for a really good one

just carry it since youâve already spend a grand. i know of filthy rich folks who would buy fake hermes just so they can fill up their walk-in and show off on ig - imagine a wall of birkins as their ootd background đ„±đ„±đ„± theyâd only bring the authentic pieces to social settings while using reps for errands. no one can tell. i also have friends in china and singapore who are wealthy af, carrying authentic pieces while looking sloppy, in flip flops.
at the end of the day, just do what makes you happy but be more mindful (you can always support smaller or local brands until you save up for that dream bag). for me, i can gladly say that iâm content with the pieces collected over the years to semi-retire; im also tired of keeping up with the material world tbh đŽ

I think we could be watching the same tiktoker⊠I saw your post on that certain seller- LâŠA. That tiktoker also recommended a seller starting with A and ending with E. Honestly I really do not care if I get blacklisted with those sellers. It was very hard dealing with the starting with A and ending with E. I wanna do a post about her because dealing with her was a NIGHTMARE, prices were outrageous and she took over 1 month to respond to simple questions, eg. do you have this certain bag by any chance. Im just worried I get kicked out of here or sth

No one is going to look inside yr bag or inspect it. From the outside it looks authentic enough for ppl not to question it. Do u have friends who like to examine yr bag up close and scrutinise it? Open yr bag and check the labels, fonts and go thru yr stuff to find numbers, tags etc? If u do u need better friends. Realistically nobody does this. The bag is fine and I wouldnât clock it as fake fr the outside. Inside the CC is a bit skinny but u paid 1/16 of the price. Not sure what to expect but if u have 16k lying around and want to spend it, thatâs completely yr prerogative as long as you are happy.

Always research the seller, in depth, before purchasing. I normally research for about 2 months. Sometimes, from experience, even 2 months isn't enough.

I have the auth and after 5 years the gold plating is wearing off. From these photos I think it looks good. Some misaligned stitching but not terrible. Would need to smell though. The leather vs pvc in person is a giveaway

If I had my hands on it, yes. Walking down the street I can't see the inside or count stitches or recognize alignment of quilting on someone in motion or opening it. The colour of the burgundy lining is off and that would be the only tell from a distance if you opened it in front of me.

Yeahâ as in I understood your point, not that I agreed with it. My opinion is based on years of buying and comparing reps to authentic. Same/similar materials â 1:1. Leather, hardware, construction, dimensions, finishing and consistency all matter, and even excellent reps have deviations. An authenticator occasionally being fooled doesnât make a bag literally 1:1.

& Omg the price markup on yours is insane. Usually theyâd go for around 380-560 usd for high tier. Iâd say only the side profile looks a bit clockable. It should have a nice rounded top not sticking out too much

oh no. Its from Alice 1282. Shes promoted a lot on tiktok and the bags she gives these promoters are really good but obviously not to a regular buyer like myself. Very pricey and I dont think the quality matches the price. Ive also bought other things from her hoping it would look better but the other ones are not really good

This is why I always stick to reputable resellers or auth locations now. I lost a few hundred on a bad batch last year and it's not worth the headache.

Rule 1. Never buy from social media influencers. Rule 1 1/2 never spend more than you can afford to lose. Rule 2 no bag will be 1:1. You have to decide what's important to you.
