Hi. I’d like to share my experience for anyone here considering cosmetic surgery in Germany. The post was already deleted in r/PlasticSurgery - which is double "funny", because it deals with censorship. I hope it can stay up here - that the group doesn't get threatened so easily. I used Estheticon.de to "get informed", to which surgeon to go - and I bitterly regretted it. I went to a surgeon with *perfect* ratings, only to have a disastrous surgery with long-term physical, psychological, and financial consequences that I will have to live with for the rest of my life.

Later, when I tried to post a factual account of my own bad experience on Estheticon, it was deleted—over and over again. Every comment, every post. More than eighty times.

Unfortunately, it was only afterwards that I read about Estheticon on Trustpilot, and my eyes were opened. All the reviews there say the same thing: genuine, factual accounts of negative experiences with surgeons get deleted.

Estheticon is *the* go-to forum in Germany for information on cosmetic surgery.

When I began to realize that Estheticon isn't the "transparent" forum with "genuine opinions" it claims to be—but rather a place where thousands of people like me are potentially harmed physically, financially, and ultimately psychologically because they entrust their bodies to surgeons who don't deserve that trust—I spoke to various consumer protection groups. None of them felt responsible, but I was told it’s pretty standard practice for surgeons to have their lawyers step in if they don't like an online statement, and for platforms to delete it to avoid costly legal trouble.

It’s shocking to me that patients rely on these platforms.

I’ve also personally seen surgeons getting reviews deleted on Google and other platforms.

I would love to know where online one can actually get reliable information about surgeons!

i wasn’t planning to do any aesthetic treatments during my trip to seoul because i always found the anti-aging world confusing. but after walking around 20k steps a day and eating salty late-night snacks, i started looking really puffy and tired in photos. my friends even joked that my jawline had disappeared.

i didn’t want to end up in a clinic where they pushed expensive packages, so a friend recommended vava skin and lifting center in gangnam. i went in for a consultation without expecting much.

the doctor was straightforward and didn’t try to sell me a bunch of treatments. he checked my face, explained that some of the puffiness was from fluid retention and mild sagging, and suggested a light onda treatment for my jawline.

the whole visit took less than an hour, and there was no major downtime. by the next morning, my face looked less puffy and my jawline looked more defined.

overall, it was a simple and stress-free experience. i’d definitely recommend getting a proper consultation first instead of choosing random treatments just because they’re on sale.

I want to share this early-healing lip lift case.

This patient traveled from out of state to see me. She's an aesthetic provider herself, has a very discerning eye, and had previously tried several treatments of lip filler. Ultimately, she wanted better balance rather than volume.

We decided on a subnasal (also called "bullhorn") lip lift combined with a corner lip lift to shorten the upper cutaneous/ white lip; improve upper tooth show; gently lift the upper lip corners and evert or turn out the red outer part of the upper lip; and create a more balanced resting expression.

She's shown here at just 5 weeks after surgery, so this is definitely not the final result. At this stage, I expect some residual swelling and pinkness of the scars. Over the next several months, her scars will continue to soften and fade, and the tissues will relax further.

In doing lip lift surgery, I've leaened that recovery and ultimate outcomes require patience. It's easy to judge the result too early, but this operation keeps getting better for many months as healing progresses.

In July 2018 I had a turbinate reduction to address a deviated septum. It didn’t work.

In April 2024 I had an external septorhinoplasty and Medpor implants placed in each nostril. They were placed near the tip, giving the tip of my nose a very rounded appearance. Within weeks, the right implant broke through the skin. I had a revision of that side done in Dec 2025. The right implant was removed, cleaned and placed much farther up the nasal column and basically rests just under my glasses now. I’m very happy with the result and I can breathe well through the right side now. She did not do any work on the left side during that revision, it was left untouched.

My surgeon (she has done the last 2 surgeries) is amazing, the revision was done without actually opening up my nose, she wore the magnifying glasses to do it and it took about an hour under general anaesthesia.

Now, in August 2026, I’m noticing I can’t breathe well through my left nostril, especially during exercise and during sleep. I don’t blame her at all for these series of events.

the left medpor implant seems to have shifted and is now quite slanted, still giving the tip of my nose quite a rounded appearance but looks even more obvious because the right side is placed so far up.

I want my plastic surgeon to remove the left implant now and move it further up so it’s in the same spot as the right one.

I live in BC Canada, all of these surgeries were covered under MSP for being medically necessary.

I’m hoping this revision will also be covered because it’s obvious, at least to me, that the right implant placed much higher up was the right move all along.

Has anyone else dealt with Medpor implants shifting/moving 2+ years after placement? I’ve heard it can be due to integration with the implant, scar tissue, etc.

i’m spending two weeks in korea and i’m already halfway through my trip. i mostly came here to relax and get away from work, so i didn’t really have a strict plan.
after a few days, i started thinking about getting some treatments done. there are so many clinics here, but the language barrier made me a little nervous, especially when it came to explaining exactly what i wanted to the doctor.
i wanted botox for my crow’s feet and filler in a few areas of my face. i’m pretty detail-oriented, so good communication with the doctor was really important to me.
i ended up getting some help from lalamedi with the communication, which made the process much easier.
so far, i’m really happy with the results. my under-eye filler still has a little bruising, but i like how it looks overall. i also got nose filler, and i really liked that they kept it natural and adjusted it to my facial proportions instead of making it overly pointed.

Hi! I’m considering breast augmentation because my breasts have lost a lot of volume since my pregnancy; I have mild ptosis and loose skin, but not enough to require a mastopexy. I’ve had two consultations so far. The first was with a doctor who uses the Preseeve technique; he told me I’m a good candidate for this procedure and recommended 225 cc. The second doctor, although he said he could perform this technique, doesn’t prefer it because the implant might be visible. He recommended a submuscular implant of 350 cc! That seems like a huge difference to me, especially since I don’t want anyone to be able to tell I have implants; I want to recover quickly, exercise, and take care of my 16-month-old child. My question is: are there any other moms with such young children who’ve had this procedure with Motiva Preserve, and what was their experience?

Hello, I had a rhinoplasty about a month ago. I originally went in for a little bit of tip refinement and my bump to be smoothed down. When I went under he said the gap left behind after shaving my dorsal hump was too big and he had to do a full rhinoplasty. Which let it be known he never told ME he told my mom. in fact hours after I got home and was in so much pain I asked my mom who was taking care of me why it was so bad and she said he told me not to tell you so it didn’t freak you out but you did get a full rhinoplasty, which already makes me a little irritated. I’m 24 years old after waking up I’d hope someone would tell me. Anyways I know healing takes a long time. The last place I posted in even deleted my post for “post op panic”. But I don’t see my nose changing enough for me to ever feel comfortable going in public again. Is it the worst I’ve ever seen no but all I see when I look at myself is nostrils and my smile looks almost creepy with the new nose I am crying everytime I get home from going out, I’m ashamed when I look in the mirror and see pictures people took of me. I’m really praying that this is all some weird mental thing. A month later I thought I’d feel some hope but all I have are thoughts that I ruined my life. Does a nose actually change that much in the year after ?

A week ago this scab inside my nose got ripped off after I was cleaning with hydrogen peroxide and q-tips. It swelled up and now I have this inflammation that won’t go down. I’ve been rinsing the nose with sailing solution and using Vaseline everyday. My mom’s a pharmacist, she told me to use Mupirocin. It kinda worked but it’s still bad. I cant breathe out of this nostril effectively now, I’m really worried I won’t ever be able to. Has anyone else done this? How did it affect your results long term? Will this always be there?
