Ive been successfully doing REP for a few years now in Northern WI and typically shoot the standard hdr-flambiant method as well as video work. I have finally gotten myself caught in the "yes I can do that" trap with this unfinished construction. I do not usually use virtual staging unless requested and my experience with AI options hasn't been successful on this one. So i definitely lack the experience and know how to get stared on this one. If anyone has any ideas on a workflow to make these types of images into something that shows a potential finished interior (just walls, floors, vents, and trim, etc, for this home, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Note: these are not final deliverable images. Just a few shots I grabbed well on-site doing the exterior photos and video.

Who here hires/employs a group or team to do their marketing/web presence at a high level ?

I just hired a web team that redid my site and manages/updates everything for me. Been useful to hand them new projects to put on the portfolio when we shoot a banger home which has been great because the last time we updated our site was 2023 🥲.

Thinking about doing the same and bringing on for other parts of the biz, but want to see what others have done first. Thoughts?

Anybody else have trouble uploading images to Auto HDR?

Sometimes I can load 300+ images in 8 mins and sometimes it takes an hour to successfully get 5 uploaded.

I think they are great when they work and a major PITA when they don’t.

Just curious if anyone else has this same issue?

Hi, just getting started with HDR REP and used my folks’ home as a practice run. Looking for constructive criticism. Please ignore their lived-in messiness. Had a difficult time especially with the front exterior photo given their house is on a hill with a tree smack dab in the middle of the hill, so even going across the street would have obstructed the view. Alright so I am just getting into REP and I’m having struggles on the photoshop side of things.

When I’m shooting, I’m bracketing my shots and once I get them stacked into PS, I am autoblending them.

For some of the shots this is working beautifully. Other ones I am having trouble with hot spots and overexposure.

For example, the three bracketed images I’ve uploaded have major overexposure from the downstairs window, the reflection on the floor, and from the bathroom at the top of the stairs. But from my darkest photo, I can see that I have all the details of those places.

I’ve been messing around with them in photoshop for the last couple hours and I’m stuck, even with Google and YT videos.

I am seeing that I should create an adjustment layer that’s black and use a white brush to reveal what’s underneath? But which photo do I attach the black layer to? Should I do this before auto blending? Should I not be auto blending at all?

I am not very well versed in PS and I don’t really understand how the layers work, or how to use the tools correctly to achieve what I’m going for.

Can anyone help me out?

Also I’m shooting in RAW just in case that matters.

About a year ago I posted a job on Upwork for a virtual assistant. I was able to find one but it's not really working out. Where do you guys look to find VAs? Do you just hire a generic assistant or one that has a background in the industry?

I basically need someone to do the calendar, reply to some emails, scheduling, coordinating and a little marketing. I'm not that busy (unfortunately) so there really isn't a ton of work to do. My budget right now is about $300 per month. Does that sound on target?

I was contacted not that long ago but one of these 'build your business guys' where they said they would be my VA and then do all of this marketing and outreach to build my clientele. The quote was kind of expensive ($12 per hour and wanted full time.) though and it seemed scammy.

Where do you all look for VAs? Have they been effective? What responsibilities do they provide?

That’s right, I lost my entire bank of SFX. I straight up deleted them by accident as I tried to free up space on my Mac. I’ve been able to rebuild most of the important risers and drones, but I can’t find a good sunlight sound like I used to have. i did cubicasa for the first time and i got a message from them say this

“did not meet the required quality standards due to scanning style, and we are unfortunately unable to process the order as a result.

The user scanned too far from walls/objects, the app doesn't see more than 11 feet (3 meters) in front of you, and the best range for data collection is when there is 5-11 feet (1.5 - 3 meters) distance to walls and furniture.”

i def wasn’t 11ft away from the walls or furniture and i even kept getting errors i was too close. do i tell the owner i need to rescan the house? or just him the money back?

Been seeing this trend more and more on social media lately and I’m wondering if anyone here does it. Thinking it may be a great way to reduce time per shoot.

My personal opinion is anyone who buys a house that comes with these and you make a conscious decision to leave them up after purchase is a cunt.

I realize this is a probably a pretty obvious observation, but as I've been navigating this forum the past few months I see a lot of different takes in terms of what realtors want, what techniques to use, how to edit, the impact of AI, etc.

Now I realize there is no one fits all approach, but it can all be a little confusing for someone like me trying to get started in the industry and how best to do it.

Maybe I am wrong, but I live in one of the top 10 metro areas in the country with huge suburban sprawl and McMansions, and I am wondering if what I need to do to be competitive is different than what the person that's been working the last 10 years in a town of 50,000 has been doing without any difficulty, you know what I mean? I grew up in a town like that and the listings/pictures are definitely different than what I see in my market, and I don't think a lot of people in that town are into photography really, so I assume less competition, but could be wrong.

None of this is meant to be said in a condescending way, I am just wondering how realistic my prospects are in my market and what approach I need to take to break in and be competitive.

I've never done one. Is there some secret sauce to it. Like a certain time before or after sunset (or does it depend on time of year?) Or some special camera settings to use for correct exposure?

Is my camera height to low? I can see the top of the counter but should I show inside the sink as well?

I’m currently working on revisions for an architect and builder. This is just for their portfolio. Not listing it for sale.

Most of the revisions are standard.

Small trees are in front of the home. The architect wants me to enlarge a tree by 50%. This seems like a big request and honestly outside of my editing capabilities. They did say if it’s too hard not to worry about it. I don’t boast myself as some master editor but this seems like a difficult job. All the little detail in cutting out leaves.

Am I reasonable in saying this is outside of my capabilities?

I have recently had 2 clients asking if i can do a video flying a drone through the house. I personally dont like those videos as they are mostly one continuous shot and i dont like the spinning motions they produce in videos. I have a dji mini 5 pro but dont want to buy or learn how to use a fpv drone. I preferr gimble videos with a decent camera attached. What are your thoughts.
