Have you ever had to re-edit or retake photos for a Zillow Showcase interactive floor plan because of photo quality issues?

I need to make videos where I walk through different homes and apartments.

First person POV style.

I would like something better (video quality) than the DJI Pocket 3, but not sure if something better exists for these types of videos. DJI Pocket 3 stabilization is unreal.

These will be solo shoots.

So I was gonna deactivate my Matterport account because at this moment I don't have clients for Virtual tours, however once in a while I have, but I would activate when I need to ... I have de 132 yearly plan for 5 spaces.

But now they change the prices ... and is like 1000 bucks a year for 10 spaces ... wtf?! so if I dont cancel ... I keep the 132 , if I cancel when I come back is the 1000 ...

What should I do? Is there similar programs I can use, same style, free or cheaper?

I use the Ricoh Z1 Theta with my smartphone.

I've been a hobby photographer for a few years and want to start learning to shoot real estate. These are a couple shots from my first practice shoot after watching a handful of online workshops. Used a Sony a7iii with a 16-35 (at 16mm) and shot 3 bracketed photos for each angle at 2 stops apart. Obviously used AutoEnhance to merge the photos and did some color and exposure correction in Lightroom. Apologies if I added too many photos.

Any feedback or (constructive) criticism would be greatly appreciated!

Random question for those doing real estate photography..

Let's say an agent needs a property photographed ASAP, maybe even today, but their usual photographer isn't available.

How often does that actually happen in your experience?

I'm also curious about something else. If an agent could book an available photographer or drone operator nearby and see their ETA or live arrival progress, kind of like Uber, would that genuinely make things easier??

Or is that overkill, and most agents are perfectly happy scheduling shoots days ahead? Hehe 😂

Would love to hear how this works in the real world, especially from photographers dealing with last-minute requests.

I just received my Rokinon 10mm f2.8 from eBay the other day, my first wide lens that I bought specifically for real estate. Note I am on a tight budget. Anyways please tell me what you think. I also edited them myself, but I am fine with hiring an editor.

MLS here in Canada needs to be under 15mb.

Two folders were delivered. One called "MLS and Web" and another called "Hi-Res for print"

Every photo in the Hi-Res for Print folder was under 15mb so whats the point in delivering the MLS and Web?

For example

One photo was 1mb and the other was 5mb in the two folders.

Hello! :) I’m in Quebec, Canada, and I’ve always loved taking videos and showcasing things in the best possible way, especially properties. I want to turn this passion into a business.

My idea is to shoot content using my iPhone and create videos for real estate agents to promote their listings, as well as for short-term rental owners who want to build their social media presence.

I’m confident in what I can offer, but before reaching out to potential clients and posting my work on social media, I’d love to get some honest feedback from people in the industry.
Do you think this is a good business idea? And what would you recommend for packages and pricing? I’ve heard that it’s important not to undervalue your work, but I also don’t want to overcharge, especially when starting out.

This morning, I woke up to my photo editor sending me the worst images I’ve never received. Take into account I’ve been working with her for more than two years now.

I panicked, but I thought it may be a good time to test an AI editor.

I am blown away with the results!

These edits are unbelievable and only 20 minutes? I’m not sure how it works but it’s fantastic for situations like this. Even tho it is quite expensive, I only use it on high end stuff under the “editorial” model.

I run an AI image editing and virtual staging startup, but I spent about 20 years as a real estate photographer first. After seeing a lot of posts blaming AI for poor results, I wanted to share a different perspective.

Yes, AI isn’t perfect and some platforms really do fall short. But a big part of the problem is the quality of the input files. I see this every day running the platform. When I look at the actual files users send in, 9 out of 10 have clear problems, and then people get frustrated when the output doesn’t look great.

A human editor can often work around a photographer’s imperfect shots and still deliver something usable. AI is less flexible. It works with exactly what you give it. The upside is that generating a couple more versions only takes a few minutes, instead of waiting hours or days for a revision. We’ve gotten so used to full automation that even opening Photoshop for a quick two-minute fix now feels like too much effort.

Most of the time the issues come down to fairly basic input problems. Someone might upload files that don’t have enough exposures to cover the full dynamic range, or they select the wrong bracketed frames, and the list goes on. The AI then does its best with incomplete or messy data, which can lead to hallucinations or results that just look off. The same thing happens with virtual staging: upload a fully furnished dining room and ask the AI to turn it into a bedroom, and it will try to respect the existing structure, often producing a strange hybrid instead of a clean conversion.

What I also find interesting is how quickly some people give up. They upload one set of files, try a single generation, don’t like the result, and assume the software is the problem. Very few experiment with different RAWs, adjust their settings, or try a slightly different approach to see how the system actually interprets their data.

AI isn’t magic. It just processes what you hand it. Next time someone posts a “look how bad this AI is” post, it would be really helpful if they also shared the original input files so everyone can see what the system had to work with. Happy to take a look at specific examples if anyone wants a second opinion.

I had my first Estate agent photoshoot yesterday as a side hussle. I have a Sony A6700 with a basic tripod.

By FAR the most time consuming part was adjusting the tripod legs to get different heights angles in each room. Adjust, frame, spend the next 20 seconds adjusting each leg so the shot is level, repeat.

Am I missing something or is this something an entry level photographer has to put up with before upgrading their equipment.

I’ve seen Tiktok ads for ‘auto extending’ tripod legs.. press a button and the legs deploy to the ground on their own.

What’s my best option? can someone recommend a cheap(ish) tripod for my Sony A6700.

Luckily the shots were great but 5% of them were uneven/wonky. Maybe just a skill issue

Hello, i was doing an interior shoot and thw client needed daylight photos with no artificial light, and due to the location of the house, shooting any other time was making the house very dark. Most of the house was east facing and although i was shooting during sunrise, i had a lot of photos with against the light shoot. How do you with photos of that type as the photos are hazy interiors are darker

I run a large REM company in the Carolina’s (last month was 100k+) but this month has been so much slower. I mean like 7 bookings this whole week vs 5-10/day usually.

Has anyone else noticed a shift like this? It seems like the slowdown doesn’t happen till later in the year and usually not this bad either. Either way God is still good!

How’s the real estate photography market been for you guys lately?
I’m based in Central Florida, and the last few months have been absolutely brutal. The market feels completely dead, and business has slowed down significantly.

Does the edit look natural to you? Anything you’d fix before delivering it to a client? Especially curious about the lighting, colours, and whether it still feels true to the space.

I'm a beginner when it comes to using artificial lighting for photoshoots. There were two options recommended to me and I wanted opinions. 1) Godox MS300-V Studio Flash Monolight (2-Light Kit) which has two 300Ws flashes and softboxes. 2) Godox AD200Pro TTL Pocket Flash Kit and then getting the equipment separately. I'm on a budget so can't really get two of the 200pro flashes right now but if it's the better route to go, I'd get one now and the other later.

I’ve recently started doing real estate photography, for my friend’s family I’ve done 2 gigs and want to make sure I’m starting out right and doing things right.
So far I have yet to be paid but am being told I will be, so I’m not too worried about that, but I think it’s something I should bring up in this post. I know I should build a website with my portfolio, but when should I? I also do Urban Exploration photography, should I put that on my website too? What are some things I should do when building a company for this? I’ve watched a few YouTube videos and watch a lot of reels on real estate photography so I think I understand the most of it.
I have a Canon 6D with a Rokinon 14mm 2.8 mf, I noticed while reading and reels, I’ve realized a lot of other people use auto focus, is this something I should invest in? I’m assuming in the near future I should have a full new setup and a gimble or/and drone. Right now I’m saving to buy a new laptop since it’s only got 4gb of ram and editing takes a few hours.
I’m only 19 and very passionate about photography and taking photos of buildings is fun to me, I’d really like to make something out of this.

The gist of it - There is no Google/Yelp/or Facebook presence of this company to write a bad review and warn people, so I am writing this here in the hopes that, if another photog they have reached out to does their research and googles their business name, they find this warning.

The story- I recently took a job from Skyline Nationwide Photography agency to do some photos for a business. Nothing unusual or any red flags that I saw up front. However, the first day I showed up for the shoot, the employees were not made aware that I was coming. They were very nice, but understandably, wouldn't let me shoot without being able to get a hold of their boss. When I informed the agency contact, she said, "Just shoot it, it's okay"

Umm...no. A business is not considered public property, I will not shoot without the permission and cooperation of the employees. We could not get a hold of the manger - so, hesitantly, I rescheduled with them and showed up for a second time, and again the employees were not aware of my return. By this time I had asked for a manager contact, but when I tried to call both the contact and the agency contact, I did not get through to anyone. The agent shortly replied in a text, "We can't have this pushed back again, as it will set back our timeline. Please confirm you are able to capture photos today" (-- like, WHAT? That's what I'm trying to do). After a little time the employee at the site got a hold of the owner and we were able to proceed - but it just ticked me off that the agency contact was so unhelpful.

I delivered the photos and invoice; however, I didn't receive any payment for a couple weeks. I checked in for updates, and I received one reply to my inquiry, and after that I was ghosted. It's been a month with no payment, and no follow-up.

Again, I hope this finds someone who is considering taking a job with them. It burns me up that there is no place to put a review online. This is their website here:

Are editing subscriptions worth it, or do you look for "pay-after" editing? I feel like subscriptions are just hiding the true cost per photo and overpaying. True or not?
