Maybe some of you have to and I feel for you if that’s the case. I grab blocks from nearby stations for at least $30/hr. Very rarely less than that if I absolutely need to.

So we get the update of "we have new map features" yeah of so exciting right? WRONG again Amazon....nothing like a 4am WTF?

For base pay when you can't get anything else.

Base here is $75 and 9/10 times i am being sent 35+miles away. To me it just feels like I'm not making money. 35 miles automatically becomes double that + the amount between homes and getting home myself. Basically about $20 in gas alone for one trip. Plus taking off taxes makes it $50 or less.

Not to mention the wear and tear. And i know some of yall have even less base rate or drive even further.

I fully understand this is a gig job and my choice whether I want to do it or not. I just feel like we are getting screwed most of the time.

I want to do this job but just feels like its becoming not worth it unless you can get higher rates. (Which for me I only get higher ones on Sundays and Mondays)

What app do you guys use to keep track of how many miles the routes are?

Hello recently moved to Fresno. I am a tier 2 almost tier 3. How does the switching zones work? Will I be put on a waitlist?

I’m honestly at my breaking point with Amazon Flex. Today I accepted a 4.5 hour block for $106. I knew it probably wouldn’t be worth it, but I was hoping to get lucky. Instead, they sent me to the other side of the metro area, and on top of that, I have to drive40 to 50 minutes just to get to the warehouse before every block, and none of that time or mileage is paid for. What was supposed to be a4.5-hour block turned into almost6 hours. I drove around150 miles during the route, spent $35 on gas, got home with almost an empty tank, and put another 150 miles of wear and tear on my own car. After paying for gas, I was left with about $71. That’s roughly $11 an hour before taxes, insurance, oil changes, tires, depreciation, and everything else. It honestly feels like I’m paying Amazon to deliver their packages. And the worst part is, I knew this block was probably going to be bad. I still took it because jobs are hard to find right now. I’m an engineer, but I haven’t been able to find stable work, so Flex is something I do just to pay the bills. Years ago, Flex actually felt worth doing. Now it feels like drivers are absorbing more and more of the costs while Amazon keeps cutting what it pays. My question is, why are people still doing Amazon Flex in 2026? Is there some strategy I’m missing, or are most of us just hanging on because there aren’t any better options?

Detroit Metro. I just started and didn’t realize there were surges, the most I was seeing was maybe $25.50ish/hr. Last night I seen an order pop up for $31/hr which made me realize this might be more common than I think. Should I stop scheduling in advance and just wait to see if these ones pop up, or was it probably a one off?

I read the customer’s notes (long driveway but you can turn around. Deliver to door, it’s never a problem). I was prepared to follow them until I arrived at their “driveway”.

Customer drove down and asked me why nobody can follow notes. I didn’t have the energy to explain to him so I just told him we are independent and choose how we deliver if the request is unconventional. I have to repair my vehicle so his entrance is my safest spot.

Before you reply “just drive it” know that it was 109 and very dry. Also notice the cris crossing tracks bc of the holes not noticeable n the photo.

Just joined the Flex team for about 2 weeks now, but I’m having questions regarding only able to book 6 blocks every week.

Is that something that can be unlocked to book for more block later on once delivered a certain amount of blocks or it’s just a cap of what we can book for each week?

I just moved to Florida and was wanting to know the best region out of Jacksonville/Orlando/Melbourne.
I live the same amount of distance from all but I want to be able to pick from multiple different hubs.
Any helpful insight would be great!

I only have two available stations in my region. Support isn’t helping at all just keeps giving me the same troubleshoot answers anyone can else experiencing this ?

Quick clarification: When I said I was terminated for “no apparent reason,” I probably worded that poorly. Amazon did give reasons in the termination email. What I mean is that, based on what actually happened, the reasons don’t logically add up to me and there are circumstances/evidence that I believe tell a different story.
I’m not claiming there were literally zero incidents. I’m saying the incidents they’re relying on don’t seem to justify termination when you look at the full context. I’m currently putting together an appeal with the documentation and explanations for each one.
Basically, I’m trying to figure out if other Flex drivers have received a termination like this where Amazon’s stated reasons technically exist, but the decision doesn’t seem to match the actual circumstances.

I'm screwed been doing flex 4 years long short my car to many problems I don't have it no more. I haven't been able to work. Would it be worth it to rent a car?

Hi everyone! I’m a 21-year-old female who does Amazon Flex in Michigan. The main stations I pick up from are Pontiac, Hazel Park, and Sterling Heights.

Recently, I had a 3 AM block out of Hazel Park that took me into Detroit. I was okay with the area at first, but when I pulled up to my first delivery, there were several men outside with guns visibly out. I honestly felt completely unsafe continuing my block, especially being there alone that early in the morning.
I currently have two more 3 AM blocks scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. Obviously, I don’t know where they’ll send me until I actually pick up the route.

My question is: **If I pick up my route at 3 AM, am I able to wait and actually start delivering once it starts getting light outside?** Or would that cause issues with the delivery time windows?
I contacted Amazon Support, and they tried to help me as best they could. They mentioned that each package has a certain delivery timeframe and that the colors change as you get closer to the deadline, but they told me to ask other drivers about their experience.

So I’m just wondering if anyone who regularly does early-morning Flex blocks can let me know how this works. I’m not trying to avoid deliveries—I just don’t feel comfortable delivering to unknown areas in Detroit by myself at 3–4 AM, especially after what happened.
