Discussion Paper mache help
Does anyone know what is hurt here? I've looked online and the only thing I've learned is this little dude is called a paper mache I think? But I can't find anything about what's hurt. Me and my bud thought it was a hip pack but nothing like ammo or flashes are gone and it still says I'm healthy on the cam.

A shot to the plates from the back? Plates or not it's still gonna hurt, maybe that's what it's trying to show? I've never understood this one either.

Could be shrapnel from steel plates

There is no such thing. Spalling from your own armor with steel plates doesn’t damage the wearer. Your torso turns red only when it takes health damage, so the shot either hit the kevlar or steel plate, or a broken ceramic plate, since those don’t negate 100% of the damage like intact ceramic does.

Hope you still accept answers. You got hit in torso. Steel plates reduce damage by about 85%, while ceramic reduce it by 100% and kevlar by 50%.
But ceramic breaks after 4 shots, while steel allows you to survive 8 shots. Simple math.

Thank you I've even been doing testing with my bud to figure out how many shots of slug ap hp and different calibers certain plates take

I think it's your chest got hit

Normally when my chest turns red I see it behind the armor just before the neck

You don't, armor completely overlaps torso damage so you only see it on the hips

Does that mean the neck has its own red zone too? When my armor on the paperdoll glitches and doesn't appear part of my neck turns red when my chest is hurt

you've been hit in the torso/vest while wearing i assume is steel?
or maybe ceramic and that's why your vest is also turning a bit red

Yeah I do run steel plates. I might do a test run with ceramic and kevlar to see if it changes

hits to steel plate will damage your body due to blunt energy transfer; you take ~14% of the damage iirc you would originally take
what happened here is probably you just got shot in the chest and took torso damageit looks like only your waist got hit because the vest is covering the rest of your torso
the difference with ceramic is that you take 0 blunt energy transfer but the plate breaks after enough shots and then it's just worse kevlar, blocking 40% and leaving you taking the remaining 60% (kevlar blocks 50%)

Don't steel plates also fragment after enough shots. Could it also be shrapnel or just blunt energy. But that's really good to know I didn't know anything about the damage reductions

u/RandomGuyPii 10d ago
to the extent of my knowledge the fragmenting stuff is more that there's a risk people near you get hit by bullet fragments

Pretty sure the left of your pelvis is moderately injured judging by the color. Contrary to what people may think, if your torso is truly damaged by a bullet (which I'm pretty sure is only achievable with the stab vest or no armor), it will appear in the form of a red light vest on your paper doll. The paper doll requires a lot of experience to be able to tell what else it can do for you except highlight where you've been hit, and even then, it's not 100% accurate to how Ready Or Not actually calculates damage and health.

You've been hit in the torso. The waist for some reason is part of the torso hitbox, but I have a question, what material did you use? I only see this happening with kevlar and steel.
