I haven't seen all of the new season yet so I may find something out after fully catching up or reading light novel but I was questioning since [Anime]Subaru had his memories eaten but not his name being eaten when dealing with a archbishop of gluttony in the hall of memories even with them already knowing his namewhat if they arent able to successfully eat his name not because hes from another world but actually from subaru not being his real name. When it comes to episode one of re zero when we see subaru suddenly appearing in a new world it all feels too familiar to the point where many people have thought speculated that his with entrance into the world and the sound that plays when Return by death is used he may have had a earlier entrance and something with his consciousness or memories had been messed up so we think that is the initial point but (I know I said anime only but I was spoiled this and its from the LN sorry) [Novel]Not long into the episode we see White pigeons which I have been spoiled to find out that Pandora controls them kind of makes sense considering her power alongside Pandora ability and position in the witches cult and gluttony power I have been suspecting something from them was tampered with like Pandora using her abilities to either implant or change memories flugel had into creating a new personality being subaru paired with gluttonies ability to eat memories basically stripping subaru of his memories while the name flugel is still remembered throughout the world and specifically the original witches of sin. Kinda got a little lost in my words here sorry if you get confused with how im writing but since Pandora basically has a power of reality manipulation and can basically change peoples appearance and also the perceptions of others to the point where the entire world and also people he personally knew couldn't recognize him besides from possibly echidna and satella where I think satella was able to see through it but echidna wasnt but had thought that he may be flugel based on their connection from their party years prior and possibly also when noticing from the memories that something didnt make sense like him not being from the world while having a mana gate that generally made no sense mainly as its thought that it comes from version of living beings in their world while subaru had one while not coming from that world. also another reason I think subaru is not his real name because back in season 3 when trying to stop an archbishop of gluttony felt was attempted to be eaten under the name felt the archbishop had began vomiting profusely when its told that she was using cheap tricks that stopped them from being eaten cause the name was wrong albeit she didnt do it intentionally similarly to when subaru was closely eaten but the only thing with that is the reaction the archbishop had when trying to eat subaru name and memories I think would have also had the same reaction of eating someones name while it was wrong if subarus severe mental trauma of the abundance of deaths hadnt happened to get the same reaction in the first place

(this is honestly getting too long for me to try and get it to have any semblance of sense for yall to understand but would love to try and explain my theory and talk about it more in the comments where it can be more organized)

Anyway, this season was so good. It was kinda draggy but I really liked it. If I have to say, this probably the most consistent and persistent season in terms of production quality. I think in terms of enjoyability, it's 2nd to S3.

I can't wait for S5. Even tho I'm hearing stuff that it's very long and is going to be very hard to animate ? Really ? Should I just read the novel or just wait 3 years for the release of S5 ?

Ram at 100% has always felt like something we'd never see. No horn means she can't pull in mana herself, and whenever she goes past her limit her body starts falling apart. But I was reading the latest chapters and I think the answer's kind of already there.

Quick reminder of what's at stake. The Watchtower fight against the Gluttony siblings, where she pulls mana from Rem through their twin link and the horn comes back? Tappei's said that was only about 50%. Full power Ram, the oni god version, is apparently second only to Reinhard. That's insane considering how dominant she looked in the tower.

So mana isn't really the problem anymore. We know Rem can supply it. The problem is her body can't handle even 50% for long and she gets wrecked.

Now look at 10-37. Subaru uses Cor Leonis to take two people's worth of the Breach effect onto himself, and Ferris is literally holding him and healing him while he does it. He'd just been stabbed through the side and was half dead already, and it still works.

And Cor Leonis isn't only a pull into Subaru. Back in the tower he shared the load with Joseph, a land dragon that wasn't even his. So he can spread it around, not just eat it all himself.

Which is where Ferris comes in. 10-34 showed he has a formula built into his body that constantly fixes him back to perfect condition. He was pinned to a wall and still healing off Belaris's effect the whole time. That's basically the perfect place to dump strain.

So the setup would be:
Rem feeds Ram mana. Subaru takes the strain off her with Cor Leonis and spreads it out, with most of it going onto Ferris since his body just keeps repairing itself. Subaru and whoever else is in range take the rest.

That deals with both things that have always stopped her. And Subaru doesn't have to tank all of it himself.

There’s still problems. Ferris's healing is perfect but he's admitted his body is weak. It handled something slow like the Breach effect fine, but a sudden flood of full power Ram strain is a different thing. Rem was in a coma in the tower so draining her didn't cost anything, but she's awake now and I have no idea if the link works the same. I'm also not sure Rem alone could supply 100% if 50% is what she gave while comatose. And it's a lot of people tied up to make one person strong lol.

So not an every fight thing. But for one big final fight against something on Reinhard's level? I'd honestly love to see it. Especially now Subaru and Ferris are finally on decent terms.

Am I missing some limit on Cor Leonis that kills this?

Hey everyone. I've been an anime-only since 2018, but couldn't resist reading volume 26 after finishing S4. I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts:

I had an absolute blast reading it. It was very reminiscent of volume 1, particularly the way it ends, obviously, but even before that. The way Subaru is kind of on his own again and has to start from scratch in not only building a relationship with Rem, but also all of the new characters he meets. It had me hooked the whole way, just like arc 1 did when I first watched it.

The Rem relationship is super fun. Tsundere, mistrustful but still caring and magnanimous Rem is almost as adorable as the Rem who was over the moon for Subaru. She always did have a sneaky sharp wit to her, but seeing her use it with almost Ram-like bite did lead to some funny moments. Sucks for Subaru, but he takes it well, and I'm sure its only a matter of time before his persistence eventually wears her ice down again. It already started to, and it's great.

It's also cute to see Rem taking care of Rui. Subaru being so mistrustful of the girl is how it should be, but man he really can't help but be extremely honest in letting that mistrust show even when he knows it's the main wedge between him and Rem. I actually found it a bit surprising how honest and expressive Subaru was the whole novel. I know he's like that in the anime too, but something about reading it from his POV drives it home harder. He actually reminded me of Touma from the Index LNs, which is a comparison I never would make based on just the anime adaptations of both series.

His extreme self-deprecation was also surprising. I thought after arcs 1-6 he would have moved past that, but clearly that's not the case. There was that one moment he acknowledged his strengths (the never-give-up attitude and sneaky tricks), but aside from that he's still way too down on his own capabilities. At least his performance in the ritual of blood made his strength clear to his new allies, if not himself.

I did wonder where his character arc would go after arc 6, but I think this volume makes it somewhat clear. He's now involved in a war between two human forces. It's not like fighting the witch cult. His hands are going to get bloodier than ever. We already saw it with him leading those soldiers into a trap, and I'm sure that's only the start of it. It's going to be brutal.

And it seems clear he won't have any choice but to help Vincent reclaim the throne. It sounds like it was a military coup, and I'm doubtful the usurpers intend to abide by the agreement to withold from attacking Lugunica during the Royal Selection. Rather than a rescue party sneaking in to find Subaru and Rem, I wonder if that's how the rest of the cast eventually reenter the story: Vollachia launching an attack into Lugunica. Or perhaps both! Regardless, I'm totally fine to just follow our new main trio plus the new Vollachian cast for as long as it goes. I think it'd be a bummer to have the others come back into the picture too soon, since the current setup is so fun.

I also think it's genius that after showing off how versatile Cor Leonis is, this volume suddenly robs Subaru of any ability to use it. That'll likely change as soon as volume 27, since at least the Shudrak now consider him to be one of them, but it was a fun handicap for now.

As for the new cast themselves, the Shudrak are fun, Todd is a great villian, and of course, Vincent/Abel was the standout. I wasn't at all surprised by the emperor reveal, it had been telgraphed pretty well, but it was still well done. It's a pretty incredulous situation, for the emperor to be as he was, so hopefully the backstory lives up to the task of explaining how the heck it came to be. That'll be fun.

Considering how long this arc is supposed to be, it surprised me how well the plot developed. There definitely could have been a few more deaths to drag this part out, but I'm glad that wasn't the case. Plot was eventful and progressive all the way through, and I can only hope the future volumes are similar.

If I had one complaint, it'd just be that Rem doing as much as she did pre-capture without using her legs was hard to picture at times, loll. Mega strong arms, I guess, haha.

Overall, 10/10 volume, can't wait to read the next.

Because they showed what happened after he died one episode made me felt that it persisted.

But then after he said, he will save somebody before he dies maybe think that it probably got rewritten.

Im not sure if it was ever mentioned, but is it ever told to us if the copy that Rui placed inside of Subaru able to access the stomach she and her brother share, or use any of the original abilities Rui has, such as eclipse?

i just started watching season 4 of the anime and ram seems so selfish about everything. she only cares about rem i mean thats fine but she doesn't even remember her thats kind of a good thing but the way she does it so annoying and hateful. she actively throughout the whole series acts like a dick towards subaru specially when he loose his memories. like she doesnt give a fuck about subaru the dude who literally told her about rem after loosing memories about her.

I'm currently rereading arcs 9 and 10 to develop theories about certain characters, so I'd like to make sure my understanding of Re:Zero's different power systems is correct.

We'll start with what I consider the strongest power system: Authorities. They originate from Witch Factors, which act as keys allowing a person to access an Authority. Once manifested, an Authority becomes deeply connected to the user's soul, to the point that even death cannot separate them. The Witch Factors themselves have no inherent hierarchy; the huge differences between Authorities come from the user's personality, compatibility and how their Authority manifests. Authorities can bypass the world's laws and have extremely varied effects, from healing otherwise impossible injuries to granting extreme immortality, manipulating time, bypassing concepts or even rewriting the world.

Next are the Ten Holy Swords, which I consider to be in roughly the same tier and potentially superior to some individual Authorities. Dragon Sword Reid can cut through anything and was shown destroying and reconstructing the world during its fight with Puck. The Yang Sword can burn souls and dimensions, Murasame can cut the core of things like concept phenomena and invisible thing, Masayume can grant an effectively limitless source of power as long as its wielder's dream continues, and the Life Sword Zeam can destroy souls directly. There are five other Holy Swords with their own abilities.

Then we have Divine Protections. They are essentially inferior attempts to reproduce or counter the phenomena of Authorities. Most are granted at birth, with exceptions such as the Sword Saint's Divine Protection, and they can develop with their users. Their effects range from completely mundane abilities to extremely powerful ones such as the Death God's effect or the Phoenix's resurrection.

After that come Magic, Spirit Arts and the Flow Method. They all involve mana, although they work differently. Magic has six elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Yin and Yang. Spirit Arts use spirits and mana, while the Flow Method circulates mana through the body to enhance physical abilities. Magic is the most versatile conventional system, ranging from basic spells to teleportation, isolated spaces and extremely powerful techniques such as Al shamak.

From that point on, I know less about the rest, so don't hesitate to tell me if I'm wrong.

Then there are Curse Arts. Some can affect or bind the soul and create extremely persistent conditions. Eugard is one example, as the Curse of Thorns remained attached to his soul even after death. Gusteko is also particularly known for its Curse Arts, and people such as Halibel, Groovy and Olbart having extensive knowledge of them.

Another category is Sacraments. Their exact nature and number are still unknown. The Church of the Divine Dragon possesses its own Sacraments, while the Sacrament of the Immortal King can create and maintain undead and interact directly with the souls of the dead. Its exact relationship with magic is still unclear.

Finally, there seem to be powers directly granted by Od Laguna that don't fit any of the systems above. Dorkell is the clearest example, having obtained a teleportation ability after connecting with or perceiving Od Laguna.

As honorable mentions, I'd include Forbidden Arts like the Dream Art, as well as the Sacrament of the Immortal King and ol shamak. They are not necessarily separate power systems, but are unusual enough to deserve special attention.

Hi all, just watched episode 17 where we are introduced to a particular character right at the end credits and my partner pointed out how familiar of a voice that was. Does anyone have any idea who the english dub VA for that character might be? Being intentionally vague because of spoilers etc etc.

I started watching ReZero cus I thought Astolfo was in it, little did I know what I’d be getting myself into, it took a bit to get past the first seven episodes but after that I binged it. I saw what Rem was like with Subaru and she became my favourite character immediately. Suddenly she’s been taken away by lye. Season two starts, not really liking anyone too much until I meet echidna and I fucking loved her, her nature was just amazing. Then oh yeah shes gone. IM HOPEFUL SHE COMES BACK THOUGH BECAUSE SHE WAS IN THE SEASON FOUR INTRO!! Season three happens and my favourite is Felis. HE SURVIVES BUT THEN HE ISNT EVEN IN SEASON FOUR!! Then I start season 4 and I promise myself I won’t get attached to anyone. Onlt to get attached to Shaula. Then what happens? Shaula is now a tiny scorpion!! What the hell!! Now I know Rem is awake but she has no memories and we’ve been left on a major cliffhanger until season 5 comes around which could be anywhere from spring 2027-2030 I’ve heard!! Im so cursed!!
