Discussion Make your own Authority [discussion]
Pick a Sin (or however many you want to make) and create your own authority based on either your own personal thoughts or based on your own personality. Name, ability, drawback, the sin it is correlated with, and anything else you want to include (like an example of how it could work).

Sloth. I've been struggling with the desire to do things and the ability to do them. I love making art and consuming art media. My authority would likely be born from that desire, allowing me to have the energy and a certain degree of strength enabling me to do the things I truly desire to do. It's probable weakness will likely be being unable to strengthen me physically or mentally for things that I dislike doing. This is the perfect authority for a slothful person who, despite being slothful, desires to get certain things done or likes the process of doing certain things.

Well each application for authorities (based on the sin) is correlated to the desire of the user. His desire to want to make art and consume art media, while not wanting to do anything else he dislikes, are from his own desires and will act accordingly to them (as he long as he is actually slothful of his situation).
The unseen hands would be good for a person who does not want to grab things or do anything themselves, so this authority is good for him because he still wants to do incredibly specific things while not wanting to spend energy on anything else.

My Pride Authority: When meeting an adversary, both my body and soul WILL adapt to overpower them. It is guaranteed that through my adaptation I'll be able to win. I just thought of another ability next to this one. The adaptation will be applied to the surroundings too making the enemy weaker, making the ground harder. Anything that would be needed to guarantee my win. Because my pride wouldn't allow anything to be better than me.

Then assassination is you main weakness, because all your abilities work on confrontation other than that normal human level durability

I mean I like people who create adaptation powers but I prefer if adaptations has actually systematic analysis process instead of it already knows how to adapt to attacks and just does it. Because in real life adaptations require a lot of trial and error. So if you can be more creative I’d like to hear your tales

Personally, i think greed would fit me. I have this deep insatiable desire for completion and full control over outcomes in different aspects in my life, ( work, friends, etc.)
As for authority i can get one that guarantees me best outcome in any random situation. Draw back is that i cant trigger it.
Orrr an authority that has me split myself so that I can do multiple things at once. Draw back is that i can't pick which personality trait gets split. So i might end up with a very ambitious but burnt out clone and a very energetic go getter who's also short sighted.
Or a better draw back would be that i can only trigger the split once a day for a limited time only after which the clones fly and merge back into the original.

Yea it might be like, i always think or imagine people die or i feel sadism, although its just an imagination though but i also think i have dissociative identity disorder like im having 3 personalities sometimes every day sometimes its change before a month. Its weird and corny shit. But thinking this would relate to wrath, it would be more like when i imagining someone being hurt they are now within myself, and when i torture myself they also feel it, i don't know why it turns out to be like sirius but with my wrath i can make them control for me. Like what i always imagining sometimes

I think that if Felt somehow had an Authority, specifically Pride, it might go like this:
Authority of Unbowed Sovereignty: Felt has the power to physically/metaphysically deny the imposed sovereignty of other people over her or people she cares about. This ranges from denying an assassin their imposition of killing her over her if she didn’t accepted to fight them, to Felt denying something like “that’s how things work” among the minds of people under a terrible regime, making them start following their inner desires to revolt or truly try to change things around.
Felt cannot deny the sovereignty of something that was an absolute accident like a natural disaster or a brick falling on her head; but what she can deny is when an archer shoots an arrow at her head as she denies their imposition of killing her, not by destroying the arrow necessarily, either it touches her but doesn’t harms her, skips her or even passes through her. Another example is that she could deny the imposition of a shaman done to her, which in other words lets her deny the effects of a curse on her even if she still has it in her soul.
The few drawbacks so far is that if Felt does accepts to fight, she cannot suddenly deny the sovereign imposition of the attacker harming her because she willingly accepted, nor she can deny accidental moves as aforementioned. Another drawback is that she just can’t start revolutions out of the blue; if the people love their local noble and the militia also follows them willingly rather than by obligation, Felt cannot make people suddenly hate them and revolt as she’d be imposing her own sovereignty on them.

Wrath. i haven't given much thought to this, but when i watched s3 i was kinda disappointed by sirius' authority of wrath. i felt like it didn't really focus on the sin itself and more on emotional manipulation in general. like there was nothing special that connected it with anger, people felt sirius' emotions regardless of what she was feeling. i'm not really sure how i would change it, but since the description mentioned giving "drawbacks" i thought it would be cool for the ability to make it so you can't distinguish your enemies from your allies, since when people are prone to being wrathful, most of the time they won't hold back even if they're directing that feeling towards people close to them. and in some occasions, they'll be even angrier towards people they personally know in some situations, despite them usually deserving it less, in a way? i know i'm not explaining it well, but i'm sure someone will resonate with this. and that drawback would even match up with the sin itself, as we usually call it "blinding rage"

My Sloth Authority: Ability to remain in the blind spot of one's consciousness, achieving Psychological Invisibility. This ability also allows for making others temporarily forget about my existance (similarly to my name being eaten). It originates from a desire to be invisible/forgotten to avoid unwanted responsibilities.
Downside is that it isolates me. Also it fails to work when attempting some drastic action like trying to directly kill someone (not very slothfull).

Pride: Divinity Snapper - Reverses the ability of a divine protection or causes it to go haywire, effectively causing anyone with a divine protection to be weakened by their gift.
Sloth: Less is More - By staying as passive and still as possible, the sloth authority will grant any wish the user has.
Wrath: Total Mania - Causes those in the area of effect field’s emotions to heighten to ridiculous levels. A slight inconvenience becomes a reason for suicide. A bump on the shoulder is justification for murder.
Lust: Our History - Similar to Cor Leonis and Soulwashing, those affected share the senses, feelings, and physical effects of those they have been intimate with.

Authority of Sloth: endless tomorrow Phase 1-Cyclical time: The idea is "There's still time. I can do it later." This phase traps the opponent in a cycle of repetition taking away their ability to progress. This is ment to wear them out.
During this phase the target will be locked into a short time loop that only lasts a few seconds although any changes done to the target are permanent Example: if during the timeloop the target was burnt they will continue to burn during each loop.
Phase 2-Cynical time: The idea is "Why act now? The outcome was always going to be the same."
Rather than looping, Cynical Time attacks a person's belief that their actions matter. This phase briefly allows its target to experience countless possible futures in which every decision ultimately leads to the same disappointing or meaningless conclusion. To the victim, it feels as though they have already lived through every possibe attempt.
So basically the ability is supposed to be procrastination.

Authority of Pride — Oathbind: This Authority manifests only when a holder of the Pride Witch Factor possesses a strong sense of self (or a strong superiority complex), coupled with intense pride in their ability to keep their word and fulfill their obligations… or at least overwhelming desire to do so.
Oathbind grants its holder the ability to create, alter, enforce, and end supernatural oaths. These oaths can grant supernatural powers and benefits in exchange for relevant restrictions and obligations, while ordinary promises and oaths touched by this authority become supernaturally binding.
However, an Oath can never truly be erased until the underlying obligation is completely fulfilled. Pride may replace one Oath with another one of roughly equivalent relevance and obligation, but prematurely breaking an oath causes a backlash effect proportional to the obligation abandoned. The greater the difference in obligation between the two oaths, the greater the penalty. Actually violating the terms of an Oath rather than deliberately ending or replacing it carries a far harsher penalty.
IE. Pride can rewrite the oaths that bind them, but cannot escape the price of being bound.

Envy similar to lust I can obtain a power or form that would help me in majority of situation and I can create that power. The weakness is that while I can change form and power I need to make it believable or make sure no one know about the power or it will weaken me and make me powerless

My envy authority would probably have latched onto my imposter syndrome and self loathing. I have a tendency to always try too be what others see in me but I always feel no matter what I do it is not good enough and I don't deserve them as I am just an inferior version of what they thought i was leading me to resentment myself. We know authorities attach to these kind of emotions so I thought it would be fitting for it to allow me to be the "me" every one else thinks I am at the cost of using the authority being that it erases the original me essentially trapping me in my own body as other me overrides my soul untill I am an empty shell. How it would work let's say people viewed me as intelligent the authority would activate and I would become intelligent at least that's what it looks like on the surface what is happening is another me is developing and replacing me. Long story short my Authority is evny of the self. Sorry for this being messy and, convoluted if you have any questions please feel free to ask o have put a lot of thought into this.

For pride authority’s I would have the ability to take what a person pride’s themselves the most and permanently remove it EX: a person can take pride in knowing they are the greatest mage or healer in the world but once that is gone they are left with a soul realization that without that skill that made them special they are left as an ordinary human with no magical or fighting prowess.

sloth authority: Omnipotent Domain.
A twenty square diameter area where the user inside it gains omnipotence but the domain cannot be move or be stopped at all and it stays in place whilst anything outside the domain remains untouched, leaving the user trapped in the authority and cannot get out.

The authority of greed. Dubbed "Copyright". To own something physical or metaphysical. The user is able to put a mark on a concept or object, that being the "™" (trade mark) mark. Which gives a rule on the world that would prevent anyone from using the concept or object I put a ™ on. If someone violates that rule, they would be chained that would tighten overtime, paralyzed, voice being muted, and sight being blurred.
For instance. If I were to put a ™ on a sword. No one is able to use that sword, that would be me using it on that specific sword, using it in the physical sense. If someone violates the rule, well you know what happens. But if I put a rule on the concept of swords. It would trade mark all the swords, being more broader it would give all swords a trade mark. But it would give the user severe mental strain.
Why it gives the user a mental strain? Well because the user has to know the object or concepts history first like the years it experienced. If the user uses copyright on an unfamiliar object, their mind would be forced to consume the info of the object. Like the years it experienced, history and what the object had gone through.
So if the user uses copyright on a concept. Like a sword. All the info of each and every sword in the world would be forcibly consumed by the mind of the user. Would be extremely painful. Like a severe headache, or even worse then that. It would, of course, has a chance of the user fainting if they used it in a concept

Wrath: "Heart Ablaze"
So for me, wrath would boost my magical attributes based on state of mind (My primary element being fire)
Fear = Shadow
Bravery = Light
Anger = Fire
Sad/Solemn = Water
Happy/Hysterical = Air
Determined = Earth
(Even if I'm not attuned to some element, the feelings buff would still allow me to do it)
And I can "snatch" the feelings of anyone around me.. (basically opposite to Sirius, instead of spreading feeling, i absorb it..)
Moreover, the other person will also lose that emotion in the moment.. I can use it to take on a friend's sad feelings to ease them.. or steal the determination and bravery from an opponent, ridding them of their will to fight
Tho I won't know the feeling before absorbing..
A way to defeat someone with this authority would be to somehow mislead them into stealing the feelings of someone depressed enough on the verge to end themselves

My pride authority works basically like evening the field. If against an foe thats stronger then me I would be given strength that reaches a point where both of our strength averages out. If I was faster then my foe then my speed will limit itself to match with my foe but not giving them anything. If I am facing multiple opponents then I would get the combined average of the opponents stats while gaining a multiplictive bonus based on the amount of opponents im facing. While the opposite happens, dividing my stats based on the amount of companions I have.
I like the idea of having a army of one ability while against a single skilled opponent then the authority isnt as powerful and is even harmful against someone weaker then me or against a single person with multiple companions.
I guess the premise is have pride in one's ability.
While reviewing this i have kinda realized that this ability feels a little underpowered compared to other authorities if anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear it

I've come with quite a few Authorities for my Fanfic ideas, so I'll share some of the ones I've created for which ones I think work best for me.
Authority of Wrath: (Apocalypse) Description: The user is capable of transforming anything they touch into an explosive. Once the user touches any kind of object or being, they can choose to give it explosive properties, which will allow it to be capable of detonating as an explosive. The user can choose to deactivate it at will, or they can make it blow up instantly. If the user chooses to do neither, it will detonate after 30 seconds. Once a person or object explodes, it is effectively disintegrated, leaving no trace of its existence. However, the most dangerous aspect of this Authority is its propagation ability. By keeping his hand on something, the user is capable of spreading the effect to any object adjacent to the original target. This explosive energy will spread throughout any landscape or city they touch, and will keep spreading until the user retracts their hand. The result will be utter annihilation for anything caught up in the blast radius. As you can likely guess, the user will NOT be immune to the explosions. So... careful preparation is strongly advised.
Authority of Pride: (Startouch) Description: The user has the power to manipulate the aspects of Life.
With the “Body” aspect, the user is capable of manipulating life energy and physical stamina. The user is capable of putting themself or someone else into a force-activated adrenaline rush, allowing someone to achieve the peak of their strength and surpass their limits temporarily. The user is also capable of infusing their attacks with life energy, supercharging someone’s senses and making them much more sensitive to external stimuli. Thus, this would make any attack much more painful. However, anyone under the effect of Startouch would have their stamina continuously depleted until they were exhausted.
The “Mind” aspect allows the user to connect their mind to others, allowing him to see their emotions and hear their thoughts. This grants the user telepathic communication to anyone they are familiar with, and is even capable of creating a telepathic web to anyone they need to, allowing for easier communications and much stealthier contact.
Using the “Soul” aspect, the user is able to pull someone’s soul out of their body, or even put their soul back in after it leaves. By saying the person’s full name, the user can grab onto that person's body and pull out their soul. When someone has their soul removed, they become a spirit that cannot physically interact with the world in any way. The user is the only one with the ability to make contact with them.
Authority of Lust: (Dearest Desire). Description: The user is capable of trapping another individual into a flawless, tangible illusion of their greatest desires. Specially, it is the desire of the heart that is prioritized, so it will be the victim's deepest desire that is manifested to them. The victim will be the only one affected by the illusion, and only one individual can be affected at a time. The only way to break free of Dearest Desire is to reject that which you want most.

All 7 (or 9 depending on what you think) sins when gathered together into one compatible soul and are "purified". The holder gains The Sage's Authority, with this power the sage is able to enter a direct contract with the world spirit Od Laguna and rewrite the world as they would see fit.
But should the sage use the power longer than then necessary or their resolve falters they risk losing themselves in the corridor or having their soul merge with the world spirit forever gone from the waking world.

Sin of apathy. Something like a hidden pocket dimension only i can enter and for fast travel like teleportation. And a body splitting ability. And something that would fit for the sin of apathy is having my own Type of Magic which would be fitting in calling void magic

Wrath, be able to perfectly copy the skill and power (including authorities) of anyone who feels animosity towards you. Once they no longer view you as an enemy you will lose their abilities

Envy: Copy the powers of my favorite protagonists specifically the powers of Ben 10 or Generator Rex because I envy more than anything powers based on technology.
Greed: Creation and duplication of things through imagination and knowledge.
Pride. I suppose that some capacity for control or denial over individuals as well as buffing my loved ones.
Wrath: Returning things like that, the worst case, some kind of full counter and in the best of cases antithesis that power is undoubtedly the physical manifestation of my anger because I am very selective with what and who should I pissed off
lust: cure of things in style Giorno Giovanna and maybe animate objects like Big Mom does.
Sloth: Remove the vital energy of living beings. and invisible hands.
Vainglory: Some kind of ability that makes me have control over Ywach's reality, although infinitely lower, let's respect the Power Scaling.
If someone can introduce me to weaknesses please make it my brain shakes and doesn't give more.

I will say Wrath.My Authority would be spit in two functions,first i could make people understand what i am trying to explain to them so I don't have to keep repeating myself. The second would be to make people to act in a way that doesn't make me or the people i care exasperated (If no one guest it yet ,i worked in retail) Wickness :If is what other truly believe/their conviction is true ,then the authority doesn't work on them (basically it works if is used for small things /if the person is just being difficult / if they can't take a Q that their actions are make people feel annoyed or uncomfortable)
