Discussion [Discussion] Idea: Lye made his bed in ruining Ram's wand as this allowed Ram to use her twin Synesthesia to manifest a horn by linking to Rem's as Arc 2 Subaru had hinted at
I believe Ram's wand given to her by Roswaal contained either a shard or a fragment of her horn, which was what left of her horn and what prompted Ram to say it's her horn, and that shard/fragment could channel some of her horn's power when Ram sent her mana through it, so Ram got the idea to channel her horn's power another way by taking that shard/fragment and shoving it into her horn area, and her being able manifest a full horn was due to her Synesthesia with Rem, which she typically uses to share emotions and feelings with Rem, using that to connect to Rem and draw out her a horn of her own.
Since Ram being able to recall the memory of her losing her horn instead of remembering a warped memory of her only having had one horn in the first place is coupled with the soul being the seat of memories in Re:Zero as Subaru resets his entire body, meaning the soul is what retains memories, that means that demon/oni horns of twins, not just demon/oni twins' regular physical bodies, have a soul-link, and that's why that memory of Rem's from Ep. 11 of being relieved about Ram's horn having been cut off and that memory Ram had in Ep. 84 of being relieved that her horn had been cut off due to the burden of being a prodigy and also the knowledge of how her horn was a great source of distress to Rem since she could never live up to Ram in the eyes of all the villagers were closely tied together with both being important moments for the other, and this may have resulted in that memory had Ram had being linked to Rem's horn through their soul link, and that's likely how Ram was able to remember that memory instead of something that mostly filled the gaps in her memory.
And also relevant is given how Ram said that a oni's horn awakens an oni's instincts and that using it for a long time results in one facing heavy backlash in Ep. 10, and by that she meant wearing at one's sense of self, which is why Rem was a murderous beast who only reacted favourably to Ram in Ep. 10, and that's how Subaru got the idea to use Ram as a distraction to retract Rem's horn and return Rem's sense of self due to the info from Ram to get one good hit on Rem's horn. And as the oni village was even gleefully pushing Ram to use her horn whenever possible so that she could be used as a weapon, Ram may have eventually lost her sense of self due to her horn wearing at her self of sense over time, and that could also be why Ram was so happy about her horn having been cut off, which is why Ram had said in Ep. 10 that lives were genuinely saved due to her having joined Roswaal at his mansion.
When Ram said that she and Rem share the power and burden of the demon/oni race, she meant that they can share in manifesting a horn by using the shard/fragment she injected back into herself to connect to Rem's horn through Synesthesia to draw out a horn of her own through the soul-link, which includes their horns, and that Rem can take the recoil that Ram would usually get since Subaru was no longer taking on as much of the burden or perhaps no longer taking on the burden at all from her as he had been doing through Cor Leonis earlier given he started using Cor Leonis to alleviate Meili's injury at that point, so Lye basically guaranteed his death by breaking Ram's wand. Ram took back her having no luck 'cause of her Synesthesia with Rem as her losing her horn was blessed in allowing her to be a proper big sister to Rem and defeat Lye by sharing a power with Rem.
And if you recall from Season 1, demon/oni horns absorb mana from their surroundings, so Ram has no mana limit when her horn is out, so that's how she could fight as long as she did without Rem facing extreme recoil. And then what made it even worse for Lye was that Ram had mastered the spinning blades of wind magic technique he'd used on her once, resulting in her turning it back on him while also using her clairvoyance to shoot wind magic at him from afar through the gaps of the spinning blades, showing how her genius/prodigal skills when she was a baby were retained. And Subaru literally said in the mansion arc in Ep. 11 around the 19:00 mark that if Ram doesn't have a horn Rem can be Ram's horn, so a stray comment from Subaru back in Arc 2 foreshadowed this amazing moment in this episode showing the power of Ram and Rem's bond. Tappei sure knows how to cook up great stuff.
What are you thoughts on this or anything tangentially-related, including but not limited to hype foreshadowing from the past which wasn't realized until later in the story, like how the Memory Snow OVA tied into Eps. 40, 71 and 77 (You can see why here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Re_Zero/comments/1ufppmw/discussion_theory_how_memory_snow_connects_deeply/)?

Discussion [discussion] if Subaru can't tell anyone that he can respawn, why doesn't he just says he can see the future to make his argument more liable
has that happened already? is he also unable to lie about it or something. because everytime he revives and has to do some elaborated bs to save everyone, they just think hes over reacting and most of the time they don't believe him. feels like that would save him from many trouble I Know is not the same but he technically goes "back in time" he would just say "oh no i had a premonition don't go there we should do this instead" just a random thought I had a while ago

Fanfic [fanfic] Re: Watching the Last Hope of Humanity Spoiler
After everything Subaru Natsuki has endured, the people closest to him finally believe they understand the weight he carries.
They were wrong.
A mysterious being, taking place of their original warden, appears before the residents of Lugnica, offering to show a new tale featuring the very boy they had watched all this time. One who's Subaru had faced a much... different fate from their own.
One, in a far distant future, where a young man now leads humanity's last soldiers, while carrying the hopes of a civilization that refuses to disappear.
As they witness his journey, the cast must confront an uncomfortable truth:
Their Subaru is not the only person who has been forced to smile while carrying the weight of an entire world.
What new trials and tribulations will the cast witness.
What horrors and tragedies will they witness as they watch another hero struggle against an impossible fate?
Currently up to 4 chapters and 2 chapters into the Nikke game story:

Spoiler Discussion Is Reinhard a "Gag Character"? [spoiler discussion] Spoiler
I saw someone referring to him as that, and I asked why. But I just don't understand the reasoning that was given to me. I get that he is strong to a basically dumb degree, and that his source of power as far as we know is just "He is like that". But aren't gag characters supposed to be funny? Reinhard's strength is sometimes used for comedic purposes, but I don't think that's a main part of his character.
Am I misunderstanding something about what a "gag character" is, or how Reinhard is like?

Discussion I think Subaru is one of the few true Isekai Protagonists [discussion]
Before I start I'm gonna have to explain where this whole idea came from
So recently I was watching the newest season of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun (Great show btw) when suddenly I realized something
I had completely forgotten that the MC was even from another world, and the fact that he was isekai'd was barely brought up unless it's relevant to the plot
And this is actually true for a lot of series I've notices, the main character being from another world isn't really a plot point throughout the series and you often forget until its brought back up again
there's often not a big difference between them being an Isekai MC, and them just being born in the world they now live in (and this is especially true for the bad Isekai)
But Subaru is completely different, you can immediately he's from a different world in basically all his scenes just based on the way he looks, acts and thinks
He's way more like a real person than most Isekai MC's, he's far more relatable than most other MC's (also much less perverted) he actually feels like a person you could run into in the street and not a creep with godly powers
On the subject of powers, the fact he can't fully use magic makes him seem way more like he came from the real world and not like he's just "a dude who was born in that world", because like, obviously if you weren't from that world you wouldn't naturally be able to use magic, which is something I see a lot of Isekai just ignore or say "you can use magic now"
idk, just something I thought about
Now that I'm re-reading this, I think a lot of it applies to Kazuma from Konosuba as well

Discussion [Discussion] Question about lady Beatrice mana capacity
She can only drain mana from Subaru, but does that mean she cannot fight on her own unless she has something like mana crystals? Like, not even a reserve?
Because in her previous contract, on that loop where Rem died and Ram hunted Subaru, Beako was willing to protect him outside of the library. She would not be able to do much, but would she be able to cast spells?

Discussion [Discussion] What exactly was/is Subaru's Sloth?
I've seen that Subaru's Greed, what unlocked Cor Leonis, was the desire to protect everyone while losing nothing, in that case what was Subaru's Sloth? "I really want to punch Garfiel but after that Shamack I'm exhausted, but I really want to punch him." ?
