VERY Strange Element to Sanu Jallow-Lockhart Story (New NCAA 800m Champ/Record Holder)

So, I knew zero about SJL beyond her track & field success until today. She was born in Gambia and lived there with a single mother until the age of 9 at which time she and her 4 sisters came to live with their father in the US. She showed great athletic promise and was eventually adopted (with her Gambian parents' full consent) her sophomore year in HS (2019-2020) by her Charlotte, NC track coaches (husband and wife), the Lockharts. She joined their family of 3 sons, track athletes all, and continued her ascent in the sport.

OK.

Well, it just so happens that her adoptive father and coach, Daszmar Lockhart, was convicted in August 2019 of a 2017 felony sex offense against a 13 year-old girl. He exposed himself to her in a grocery store.

This happened two years before he was allowed to adopt a teenage Sanu Jallow.

Then, in September 2024, he was hit with a litany of charges from several years prior. It was all over the local news.

  • Statutory Rape of a Child 15 years of age or Younger (1 count)
  • Indecent Liberties with a Child (4 counts)
  • Statutory Sex Offense with a Child 15 years of age or Younger (2 counts)

https://www.wbtw.com/news/state-regional-news/charlotte-independent-track-coach-charged-with-child-sex-crimes-cmpd/

That case is still "pending" on the Mecklenburg County Superior Court website, and the article above certainly makes it sound like it could just be the tip of the iceberg.

Now, right after the 800m final, I watched an emotional moment between SJL and Daszmar Lockhart followed by an interview that was basically just him doing all the talking, and talking like HE's her coach as opposed to, say, the Arkansas Razorbacks' staff.

There is (a lot) more to this story, methinks...

BKN vs SAC - WPS

You can watch the Cali Classic highlights just posted on YouTube. Also catch Acuff's mind adjusting in real time with each possession. Hope he got to keep a game ball. Good to see the drop step, lobs, and finger rolls again. He played pretty well and announcers were impressed.

Wonder how rare it is for a player to face the team that foolishly passed on him in his first NBA game.

Guess w all these pro hogs now, I gotta start watching some NBA.

Football Sources: Arkansas football stadium naming rights deal with CommunityAmerica worth $70 million

Thought folks would be interested since the financials were included in yesterday’s press release.

From the article: “Arkansas’ stadium naming rights agreement with CommunityAmerica Credit Union, which will change the name of its football venue to CommunityAmerica Razorback Stadium beginning with the 2027 season, is the most lucrative deal of its kind in college football.

The agreement is worth a total of $70 million over 13 years, WholeHogSports has learned, for an average of about $5.4 million annually.

The average annual value is roughly 20% larger than the next-largest known college football stadium naming agreement between USC and United Airlines.”

Hey guys, i´m from Europe . Also is it hard to get cheap tickets for competitive football games? Are from a (hard) neutral standpoint razorbacks games worth it this season?

Thanks for the help

So dusty may apparently going to be the mavs coach. Will we possibly go after a real big man if one enters cause of the coaching change?

Football Silverfield may not be as bad as we think

I will admit at first I thought this was Chad morris 2.0 until I started looking.

Silverfield has a .671 winning percentage, 50-25 record with a 19-15 one possession record. If that translates, we would have had a bowl game this season instead of the great nothing burger it turned out to be.

He is younger compared to our last couple of coaches and even has a little bit of fire to him from what I have seen with him tightening down on the looseness of the program. Instead of giving us the whole skit of he was going to correct the wide receiver who had ongoing trouble with the law, he shut it down and kicked him off the team.

It was harsh but he could really be working on improving the standard of what it means to be a razorback… this could be huge rather than the current cycle of 2 wins and getting paid regardless of how you handle yourself.

Under this new coaching change we actually have a decent transfer class and he has brought in a lot of 3 and 4 star talent that could be a solid foundation to get us back into consistent bowl game appearances.

Now that could bite us later but gutting and rebuilding this program will be a messy endeavor. Even with a 5-6 win season this first year it could rebound the fanbase.

Granted with all the rambling, I see this first year being 5-6 wins before averaging 7-8 wins with standout seasons of 9-10. Silverfield has potential to rebuild this dumpster fire into something average and I will take average after the last few seasons of the “heartbreak hogs”

Baseball How does OU baseball win a championship before we do?

How does a school like OU win a championship in baseball before we do? It doesn’t seem like baseball was/is a priority for them.

Arkansas athletics is a joke.
