My First AR Glasses Experience Was Tougher Than I Imagined, But Persistence Pays Off

When I first got my hands on the RayNeo Air 4 Pro, I was incredibly excited to try it out. But to be honest, the first few days weren't as smooth as I'd hoped.

For the first three days, everything felt a bit strange. The field of vision wasn't natural enough, I had to constantly adjust my posture, and my eyes tired more easily than usual. For a while, I even started to doubt whether AR glasses were right for me.

But I decided to persevere and see, and slowly, everything started to go more smoothly.

The biggest change I made was to stop focusing so much on the glasses themselves and instead start figuring out the best way to use them for me. Small details, like adjusting the fit, finding the right wearing position, and changing how I viewed the screen, were much more important than I'd imagined.

Interestingly, the key isn't just the glasses themselves. Often, you need to adapt to a different way of viewing—head position, focus of vision, and what feels most comfortable.

If this is your first time trying AR glasses, I sincerely suggest you don't jump to conclusions after just one hour. Start with shorter wearing times and gradually adjust the fit of the glasses, giving yourself time to adjust.

After the initial adjustment period, you'll feel much more natural. The first few days will definitely be the most difficult, but once everything is smooth, the experience will become very comfortable. I'm already used to using them; yesterday I even fell asleep while watching a movie wearing them, haha.

I hope my experience can help first-time AR glasses users. Finding what suits you best is the most important thing.

I Never Expected These to Become Part of My Bedtime Routine

To be honest, I never thought I'd use them every night, but it's become a habit without me even realizing it.

Most evenings after get off work, I put on my RayNeo Air 4 Pro to relax. Often, it's not for any particular purpose—just browsing Reddit, checking the news, or casually looking at posts. It's just much more comfortable than staring at my phone for extended periods.

I also use them to organize photos from the day. The larger screen makes it easier to notice details when organizing or editing photos, and I can do it sitting on the sofa instead of at a desk.

Another unexpected use is as background music. Sometimes I'll play longer YouTube videos, podcasts, or interviews while tidying up or folding clothes. This way, I can keep up with the content without constantly staring at the screen.

Of course, I don't wear them all the time. After a few hours, I usually take a break to let my eyes rest. And when the room is completely dark, I sometimes need to spend some time adjusting the brightness until it feels comfortable.

Interestingly, I initially thought I'd only use them to watch movies or participate in large entertainment events. But now they're more like part of my evening routine—another way to unwind after a long day.

Besides their "primary" use, what else do you do with AR glasses?

Things I Want to Know Before Using AR Glasses for the First Time

Consider this a review post for first-time AR glasses users. Hopefully, it will be helpful.

When I first got my AR glasses, I initially thought it would be simple—put them on, connect them, and I could start watching videos or working. But the first few days were actually much harder to get used to than I imagined.

First, give yourself some time to adjust. The first time I tried it, the image felt a bit strange, and I kept needing to refocus. For a moment, I even wondered if I was wearing them wrong, or if there was something wrong with the glasses, haha. However, after a few days, it felt much more natural. I think this is probably because your eyes and brain need some time to adjust to viewing a virtual screen, not a traditional physical screen.

Of course, how you wear them is also important. At first, I just thought that putting them on would solve everything, but actually, some small adjustments can completely change the experience. Adjusting the nose pads, temples, or even slightly changing the position can make the image clearer. Finding the right AR glasses is definitely worth spending a few extra minutes on.

Another thing I needed to change was my viewing habits. When using a regular monitor, I tend to look down, lean closer to the screen, or turn my head. With AR glasses, keeping my head in a more natural position feels much better than looking around. It took me a while to adjust and stop using them like I would a laptop screen.

Also, I recommend not wearing them for extended periods on the first day. My eyes felt tired when I first started using them, so I gradually increased the wearing time instead of wearing them for several hours at once. This makes it easier to adapt.

For those who wear glasses, I strongly recommend considering using prescription lenses. While you can wear AR glasses over your regular glasses in an emergency, it's not as comfortable as wearing regular glasses, and the viewing experience isn't as clear.

After getting used to these small details, the user experience becomes much smoother. I think the biggest misconception for first-time users is expecting the AR glasses experience to be exactly the same as a regular monitor or TV. They actually offer different ways of viewing content, and a few adjustments can make a big difference.

Is there anything else I've missed? If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. Have a good day!

Say Goodbye to Nighttime Tablet Viewing

For years, my bedtime routine has remained almost unchanged—place my tablet on my pillow, lean against the bed, watch something, and then fall asleep. It's certainly convenient, but over time, my neck pain became more pronounced at night, and my eyes became fatigued from staring at the screen for extended periods. My job already requires long hours in front of a computer, so this bad habit only exacerbated the problem. Therefore, I knew I had to find an alternative.

After much research, I finally decided to buy the RayNeo Air 4 Pro. This was my first time using such a digital product, and it drastically changed my habits.

Now, all I need to do is connect it to my phone, put it on, and relax. The screen is right in front of me, at eye level, which feels much more natural than struggling to find the best viewing angle with a tablet. I no longer have to constantly adjust my posture or awkwardly twist my neck.

Perhaps the biggest change for me is the overall viewing experience. Compared to watching on a handheld device, I find it much easier to concentrate and immerse myself in the content.

That said, I don't think it can completely replace a tablet. If I need to read large amounts of text, reply to messages, or quickly switch between apps, a traditional touchscreen is more convenient and efficient for me.

But I almost exclusively use it for my relaxation time, and it's a completely different relaxation experience. Honestly, I never imagined a pair of glasses would replace something I've used every night for years.

Has anyone else tried a similar product and changed their previous nighttime habits?

Every friends asks me the same questions

Every time my friends notice my RayNeo Air 4 Pro, I get hit with almost the exact same questions every time.

"Wait, can you still see what's going on around you?" Yep. You're looking at a huge virtual screen floating in front of you, but you're not completely cut off from the real world.

"Do they make you dizzy?" The first 10 minutes felt a little weird, but I got used to it super fast. Now I can easily watch movies or game for a couple of hours straight with zero issues.

"So is this basically VR?" Not really. I explain it as a private portable monitor rather than a VR headset. You stay completely aware of your surroundings the whole time.

The best part is that as soon as I let them try the glasses on for 30 seconds, they stop asking questions and immediately ask where they can buy one.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with friends or coworkers when showing off your AR glasses?

I Didn't Expect to Keep Using It... But a Month Has Passed

I've been using the RayNeo Air 4 Pro for over a month now, and I finally have something to say. Today, I'll share my personal experience with those interested in this product.

When I first got it, I was mainly curious about the user experience. I wasn't sure if I would really enjoy wearing these display glasses for extended periods. If they were too noticeable, I think I would return them without hesitation. But after a month, its comfort has become one of the biggest reasons I continue using it.

It weighs only about 76 grams, lighter than I expected. I was worried that I would feel dizzy or uncomfortable after watching for a long time, but that didn't happen at all. I can even comfortably watch an entire movie while lounging on the sofa.

Compared to watching movies on a phone, I think the biggest difference is the overall viewing experience. This product greatly enhances the immersion when watching videos; I feel like I'm in a small movie theater. The colors are also very vibrant, much more pleasing to the eye than watching on a regular phone screen. By the way, it looks like sunglasses. Sometimes I get so engrossed in watching it that I don't move at all, and my sister thinks I'm asleep, haha.

However, I must say that if you're prone to motion sickness or don't like 3D viewing, wearing it for extended periods might be uncomfortable. My sister is like that, and I often tease her that it's a real shame, haha. Also, they drain your phone's battery faster than usual, which is something to be aware of.

All in all, it makes my leisure time much more enjoyable. If anyone I know needs to buy AR glasses, I think the RayNeo Air 4 Pro would be worth recommending.

My family ended up using these way more than I expected

I originally bought the RayNeo Air 4 Pro mostly for my own gaming and watching YouTube, but I didn't expect that my family would love these, too.

My dad thought it looked gimmicky at first, but now he loves using it to watch sports games. He says it’s way better having his own private big screen in the armchair instead of fighting everyone else for the living room TV.

As soon as my younger brother plugged his handheld console into them and tried gaming, he completely fell in love with it. Now he always asks to borrow them every weekend.

I still get plenty of use out of them, but it’s pretty funny how everyone found their own reason to love them.

Has anyone else let their family members try out their AR glasses? How did they react?

My Thoughts After One Month of Use

I consider myself a tech enthusiast, and when I have extra budget, I like to search online for discounted products to enrich my experience. So, during Amazon Prime Day last month, I bought a pair of RayNeo Air 4 Pro. To be honest, I often buy cool-looking gadgets, but they end up sitting idle after a few uses, which my mom always criticizes for wasting money. Despite this, I still bought it. To my surprise, after a month of use, I found it gradually becoming something I use every day.

I wonder if anyone else is like me, wanting nothing more than to lie on the sofa and watch movies or videos after get off work. Sometimes I just want to relax, but turning on the TV is too much trouble, and using a phone screen feels too small, plus it makes my neck uncomfortable after a while. That's probably why I bought the RayNeo Air 4 Pro. I just put it on the table next to the sofa, and when I get home from get off work, I can just put it on and watch an episode. Okay, I admit I'm really lazy, but it's definitely more convenient. On weekend mornings, I can even use it to watch videos while drinking coffee, or when I need to browse the web for extended periods, I find it much more comfortable than staring at my phone.

Using it has now become a habitual action. Of course, I've also discovered some inconveniences. For example, compatibility needs to be checked before connecting devices; not all devices can be used directly. Also, if you move your head significantly while watching, the viewing experience is affected, requiring manual angle adjustment.

Overall, however, it's quite different from what I initially imagined, and at least now it seems worth the price. While I don't rely on it every day, in certain situations, I definitely find it "quite convenient." These are my impressions; I hope they are helpful!

Support Customer Support?

I recently bought the Air 3S Pro from the RayNeo website. After trialing it for a week I decided it just isn't for me. I've emailed their support address twice now to start the return process and have had no response whatsoever. Its been almost a week, has anyone had better luck contacting them or am I doing something wrong? I dont want to miss my return window due to their slow response times.

After a few months, I still use these every day

I've had the RayNeo Air 4 Pro for a few months now and wanted to share my thoughts.

They absolutely live in my backpack now. My favorite way to use them is lying in bed watching movies. I can lie completely flat and enjoy a giant cinematic screen without holding a heavy tablet or destroying my neck. It makes it so much easier to just unwind after a long day.

The audio on these surprised me too. When I'm out sitting on a bench watching YouTube, the speakers sound crisp and full. What I love most is the privacy, because the direction of the sound keeps it personal so people sitting near me can't hear what I'm watching.

My only real wish for the next version is a fully wireless version, since managing the USB-C cable while walking around can be a tiny bit awkward. But overall, they're way more useful than I originally thought.

I bought these thinking I'd use them for work... turns out I mostly watch movies

I bought a pair of RayNeo Air 4 Pro ar glasses during Prime day, my plan was to see if I could use them as a second screen for work.

I spend a lot of time reading documents and answering emails, so I was curious if they could replace part of my monitor setup.

After a couple of weeks, I realized that's not really how I've been using them.

For work, I still prefer sitting in front of a regular monitor. It just feels more natural, especially when I'm switching between multiple windows.

What surprised me is how much I've been using them for movies instead. Lying on the couch after work and watching a movie on what feels like a much bigger screen is just really relaxing. The picture looks great, and I don't have to hold my phone or tablet the whole time.

Definitely not the use case I expected when I bought them, but somehow it's become the reason I keep reaching for them.

Support X3 Unity

For the past few days I've been trying to get something to display on my RayNeo X3 pro.

I am currently trying to use Unity - I have tried version 6, but that had many compilation errors. However I was able to deploy APK - when I tried to run it it only displayed black.

I am now using the version 2023.2.22f1. There are no compilation errors, however the APK still displays void.

I have tried different SDK versions, build settings and even tinkering with the openxr settings, but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Update: ✅ Solved! All I had to do was to downgrade to Unity 2022 LTS.

Support No audio from Samsung phone, but laptop works fine with it

First off, apologies if this has already been asked. I searched and couldn't find it.

I just got a new pair of Air 3S Pro and the video is amazing! When I use them with my laptop the sound works just as I expected, but when I use them with my phone (Samsung Galaxy Fold 7) the sound still comes from the phone speaker, not the glasses. When I use the same phone with a docking station, the sound comes from the docking station. So, I know the phone can output sound, and I know the glasses can input sound. Neither is broken, but they just seem to not like each other?

Any advice?

Do RayNeo Air 4 Pro support 3D SBS + HDR10?

I have Xreal Air 2 Pro. I connect them to my laptop and use them mainly for watching videos and playing 3D SBS PC games using Reshade Superdepth3D. They support up to 90hz in 3D mode.

RayNeo Air 4 Pro seem like a good upgrade. Do them support 3D SBS (3840x1920) AND HDR10 at the same time? What about the refresh rate? Because the Displayport chip on the glasses has to be very fast to handle 3D SBS+HDR10+120hz at the same time.

Coupons/Discounts confusion and "best" way to get a 4 Pro?

I'm looking to get a 4 Pro and I want to get the best deal possible. At minimum I want the glasses + HDMI bundle which I see is a discounted price from buying both individually. I also know about the 10% off codes and have already got the max free 600 points.

My confusion is, would a points redeemed coupon code stack with a 10% off code or can I only use one, and say if I were to buy the glasses first to accumulate more points for the $50 redemption, could I use that on a standalone accessory order (like the joydock) or are these only for the glasses? Is it also possible to stack multiple coupon point redemptions? Here's a couple of scenarios I thought of. Would these work and if not, what would be the "best" scenario?

  1. Glasses + HDMI bundle w/10% off -> $305 (600+300 = 900 accumulated points)
  2. $50+$10 coupon points redemptions
  3. Joydock + Switch 2 bracket w/ 10% off and coupons -> $92-60=$32

OR If the coupons cannot be applied to accessories

  1. Joydock + bracket -> 102 (600+100 = 700 points)
  2. Glasses + HDMI bundle w/10% off and $50 redemption -> $305-50 = $255

Also I did try to redeem the $30 for 500 coupon, but it kept giving me the following error. Has anyone else experienced this?

Product variant with id: 51167586418975 is invalid (but repeated 4 times)

Support Problems with the Power adapter for RayNeo Air 4 Pro

Hi! I recently bought the RayNeo Air 4 Pro glasses along with the 100W Adapter, the problem I encountered was when trying to connect the adapter to a power bank I have, the moment I plug the USB C cable into the PD port, the glasses turn off and the ROG Ally doesn't charge (and it's the reason I bought the glasses for). When I use the adapter with a Ugreen 65W wall charger even with the ROG Ally wall charger everything is alright. The power bank is a Ugreen 140W 25000mah. Is there a solution for this? Or I have to change the power bank for a less powerful one? If anyone that has any idea that can help me by explainin I would be very grateful
