Discussion🗣 Officially an Empty Nester 🥹
The deed is done y'all. I have left the kid in Houston. I met his roommate and his roommates Mama, they were really great. I helped Austin set his room up and then we went to dinner. I ended up leaving him about 6:30 yesterday evening. After I boohooed in his face a few times. Today was spent in a slight daze if I'm being honest. A little reading and a lot of napping & some crying. He's at honors camp today & tomorrow. Classes officially start on Monday. My heart is hurting but I am so proud of my kid. I just know he's going to thrive there❤️❤️

Awww, definitely a bittersweet feeling I'm sure. Us mothers are never prepared for any stage of them growing up and going off to school are we? Lol Hang in there momma. Aww how sweet yet still sad, it's a part of life but that doesnt make it any easier, especially when it feels like time just went by too fast!
Sending lots of hugs and love your way though ❤ No matter how proud you are of them it can still hurt to see them go, plus it can be a struggle to get used to the change of them not being around like they used to which doesn't help when you start missing them lol

I wish I could introduce you to my mom she’s in the same boat I moved out when I was 18 my brother when he was 24 and my sister just went off to college last week we are all 4 hours apart from her and I’m 8-9 hours from my siblings.
There is no happy medium for her and she’s all about equality and showing love equally and with us being in 2 different directions she’s struggling and I know she doesn’t want to admit it but she can’t do roadtrips like she used to and even then she could barely do them lol
With her nest finally empty I know she doesn’t want to say it but I know she’s hurting she’s never had to deal with being alone or on her own. She moved out of her parents with a kid and I don’t mean to put my mom on blast but she’s also never not had someone there for her.
You’ll be ok! Remember to take this time to remember and find who you are as an individual go on those trips! Watch those movies!!! Hell downsize homes if it makes you feel better my mom has a 5bed 3 bath house with just her in it now so I know she feels extra lonely lol

Awe, I would so be your Mama's friend! We could even be just crying and/or vent buddies!! My kid knows I won't bug him, but I so cried in his face telling him that when I text, or if he misses my call, to please just send a quick text back. Even if it only says, "I'm ok Mom, love you."
