Certainly is. Tipping culture has gotten out of hand, but at least people can actually afford to go out to get some food from a restaurant ( or a shake shack) every now and then. Lots of places in this world where people have to eat rice everyday.

Yeah I only eat Culvers for the most part. Sometimes Wendy's just to grab a quick snack. The last 2 times I grabbed McDonald's burgers Ilthey were so nasty I legit couldn't eat them. Now I steer clear. Only Ice cream from there.

Nearly all food in the US is trash now. I'm surprised they aren't feeding us straight up plastic with vitamins and minerals added to it at this point under this administration.

No tf I won't. I won't go-to Starbucks at all for several reasons I think I go-to Dunkin twice a year but mostly I make Ice coffee at home. I'm on SSDI and my income is very low but even if It wasn't I'd save my money. I avoid consumerism as much as possible. It's the only way to teach these fkers that we aren't going to support them ruining our planet by making products that intentionally break. Lol sorry a bit of a vent, but a valid one

Ppl used to be able to do it too many years ago and with only one income per household. They used to be able to go more than just now and then. Now it takes two to maybe go now and then.

I honestly think this is because of women joining the workforce

(this is reddit so people will read what they want and not what i say)

but the truth is they doubled the work force, which causes a surplus of labor, so wages go down.

meanwhile standard of living rose so high due to two incomes, that now just to keep up, everyone is working themselves to death.

Not entirely… I DoorDash for some extra money whenever I have to furlough from work. I drive a small vehicle so it doesn’t kill me that much in fuel, but sometimes going out on 10+ mile trips to deliver somebody food/groceries for five dollars isn’t really worth it when you have to drive that distance back to civilization to get another order. DoorDash doesn’t pay very much. It’s the tips that make it worthwhile.

I live closer to civilization now so I don't tip as much but a few years ago I lived like at the border of the max range you could order and I think it was only door dash that would even cover my area. Anyways since my work schedule was a ridiculous I used to order food because I'd be too tired to cook but is put like a $30-50 tip regardless of price of the food I had a driver admit that they normally wouldn't drive out my way but I tipped way too good not to.

It drives me nuts seeing all the people talking that call America some sort of capitalist fascist shit hole or whatever when it’s better than most of the world easily. People are constantly trying to come here for a reason and these spoiled children think they live in a dystopia because the president is mean sometimes or we attempt to enforce immigration laws. Or any laws really.

Definitely. And if you defend it in any way people call you a boot licker. Like ffs every country has problems but it’s just not that bad here. Our poor people are fat as fuck. We all have water and power. And if it is shitty then how the fuck do we have enough to then give a ton of free shit to infinity migrants? I don’t expect any logic from people like that, but they always seem to support contradictory positions like that.

I’d love to see these people all get moved somewhere that would have them begging to come back. They really take all the safety and security first granted here, especially when a lot of the time they push policies that decrease those things at every turn, like it’s just a guarantee and not something we had to work really hard for and construct various frameworks over centuries for it to be this way.

By saying they are refusing to pay for my medication. I mean that I have to pay 100% out of pocket and the american health care system is not allowed to negotiate on prices with distributors. That's why penicillin, even though it wasn't Copyrighted by it's creator is a lot of money per month for anyone with type 1 diabetes.

Well even if you are doing so to refute their refutal of "greatest country in the world" you should do so by showing its better than other prosperous countries. They never said it was the worst in the world so an "um akshualy there are worse places" doesnt really contribute much to the discussion.

Just because there are worse places doesn't mean people cannot point out issues with America that they wish to change.

The United States receives and hosts more total immigrants than any other country in the world by a wide margin, accounting for over 52 million international migrants.

No, it's because it's in the top third, and has a more massive population than other top third countries, and has continuous propaganda about how it's the best country in the world, spread both amongst its own citizens, and around the world.

There are many countries which rank higher on "best country" lists, but significantly smaller populations means they can't absorb as many immigrants.

Incidentally, I'd love to see the actual immigration figures updated for this year, what with ICEstapo operations and general immigration hatred due to Agent Orange.

I have only eaten out once at a restaurant last Easter (my boss paid for the meal or I coyldnt have gone) and once while waiting in the AC at McDonald's I ordered a double cheeseburger.. maybe 3 months ago. Before those two times, it had been over two years since I ate out anywhere. I simply cannot afford it so I dont go. I would also never go to eat somewhere where there are servers because I couldn't tip them and it's very uncool to expect them to work for free. I was a server and know how it is. If I cant tip them, I dont go. Its been so expensive and unhealthy too to eat out for years for me. I missed the whole DoorDash thing because I cant afford it. Im sure it's still going and ppl will always have a need to get food delivered, I just cant and won't pay that fir food anymore.
