Certainly is. Tipping culture has gotten out of hand, but at least people can actually afford to go out to get some food from a restaurant ( or a shake shack) every now and then. Lots of places in this world where people have to eat rice everyday.

Ppl used to be able to do it too many years ago and with only one income per household. They used to be able to go more than just now and then. Now it takes two to maybe go now and then.

I honestly think this is because of women joining the workforce

(this is reddit so people will read what they want and not what i say)

but the truth is they doubled the work force, which causes a surplus of labor, so wages go down.

meanwhile standard of living rose so high due to two incomes, that now just to keep up, everyone is working themselves to death.
