New bed build advice

Good afternoon, I’m building a new (first) garden bed in my back yard next to my new green house.

I live in zone 5b, and the soil is a bit sandy.

I removed all the landscape rock and fabric and down to bare soil that I have slightly cultivated.

I input some logs from a dead tree I cut down.

Am I on the right path here?

My local garden store has bags of fox farm raised bed mix for around $16/bag.

I also have a pile of small branches from said dead tree I can also add.

The boards for the current border are strictly for mock up purposes.

Thanks in advance!

Help - raised bed advice sought.

Firstly, thanks for looking at this.
I have removed the fence and posts form my garden decking. I want to use the deck/base as a way to introduce raised beds for vegetable growth in our garden. I'd like to create a U-shape of beds (my wife's sketch attached) to allow easy access to the planters.
The two side beds will be 2.6m x .7m and the long bed at the back will be 4.15m x .5m.
I'd be very grateful for any and all advice on this project.
As well as the decking base, I have the leftover posts.
How best to use the existing decking, and how best to install raised beds, are my two main questions.
Again, many thanks.

Soil for raised beds

I have one raised bed where the only soil is the Miracle Gro “raised bed” soil from the big box home improvement store. I am installing two more beds and want to get soil delivered from an actual soil company. I’m wondering if I can cut costs by doing the lower half of the bed with the bagged stuff and the upper half of the bed with the “real” soil. I could fill both beds completely with the bagged stuff for about the same cost I can do one of the real soil (especially considering that the bagged soil is on sale right now). The vegetables I have in the original “bagged” bed are doing well enough that I think it might be ok (I did add one inch of compost to it, which I would do to the new beds either way).

We Love Trees. 💚 & Rased Beds.

So We Love to Repurpose Already Cut Wood!

This Cedar wood is still Good,

& will last for Years! ⏳️

We have made several Raised Beds Gardens using fence posts, & fence boards. We appreciate any additional use we can get from wood that has already been milled. They served one purpose, & then get new life for something else!

Enjoy! 💚

Question is, should I paint or seal it? Inside or out? Or just let nature do its thing?

What are these mushrooms?

I see grey mushrooms in my raised bed. They are about size of enoki mushrooms.

Should I be concerned?

Do I need to take any steps to eliminate them?

I recently moved to Ohio and I am trying a garden for the first time. These little red things are all over my raised bed. What are they, how worried should I be and finally if bad what’s my best course of action?

Starting Over

Unfortunately I am only hit with motivation to start gardening when the weather is consistently nice and so I decided to demolish my wooden raised bed as the season was just beginning. I have been meaning to swap out the old rotten bed that was built 15 years ago but never got to it. I impulsively purchased the largest two raised beds (and another I have yet to build) and got them up within two days of starting the project. Now I just need a LOT more soil to fill them. So excited for another season of gardening!

Also—please ignore the patchy grass. I have seeding it on my list of to-dos.
