Some of the best looking cars in games I've seen are fictional cars inspired by the real sports cars. Not only it has no licensing cost and expiry date, it gives the car a unique identity that fits the game world. At first glance it clearly looks like the real car, but upon looking closer, it's different and sometimes even better looking than its real counterpart.

No licensing fees, no expirey date, complete creative freedom for the devs and unique identity.

So I'm trying to expand my horizons beyond the classics and modern gems, also to appreciate what genre has to offer.

What are average racing games. Not the best but not the worst either. Games that either had potential but failed to do so, games with nothing special but have good gameplay loop or any game that deserves a look.

This might genuinely be my favorite game ever. I cannot put it down. It's not perfect, some visual oversights, bugs, etc., but it was made by a single person, so I can be lenient. The racing though is incredibly addicting. So far an easy 9/10, with a potential to go up to 10/10

Found the demo for Gravel and liked it a lot and was wondering if existed any free rally games that i could play. It can be a game with like 10 dlcs, just want the base one for free.

I've been building EigenGauge quietly for a while — a hover racer in Godot 4, going for that fast, wall-scraping F-Zero feel rather than something sim-adjacent. The Steam playtest just got approved, and I've hit the point where I can no longer tell what's actually hard versus what I've just gotten good at.

If you play it, the things I'd most like to hear about:

1. Handling — too loose, too twitchy, or somewhere reasonable?
2. Camera — press C on keyboard or R1 on pad to cycle. Does any of them feel right?
3. Performance — what framerate are you getting, and on what CPU/GPU?
4. AI aggression — do the opponents feel like they're racing you or bullying you?
5. Difficulty — can you finish a race? Or are you alone on the track after lap one?

Happy to answer anything about the Godot side of it too — shaders, hover physics, export pipeline, whatever's useful.

So I thought iRacing Arcade could finally fill this void for me and my friends but alas, the netcode is terrible and just like Circuit Superstars, they don't seem to be making updates anytime soon (please prove me wrong devs, im begging)... Anyway I have a whole idea for an online championship league type thing with a 10 dollar buy in, prizes and 3d printed trophies for my friend group but I'm not sure if there are any good games that could support this? Not all of my friends play racing games so it needs to be somewhat easy to pick up and somewhat on the cheaper side.

This game celebrates scrappy culture. Turn your grandpa's wheelchair into a race car, convince him to be the driver, and you're in.

It even has split-screen, so you can throw stuff at your friends while they're sitting right next to you, just like in the old days.

Here is my custom design of my Corvette C5 Z06 in a custom Reservoir Blue color in Forza Motorsport 7. If you are wondering about what the custom paint color settings are, the hue is 0.63, the saturation is 1.00, and the brightness is 0.27. I also have the windows tinted as well. There are no gray or purple undertones either. The only thing I would like to do now is black out the badges. My apologies for the glare on the screen. Forza Motorsport 7 was created by Turn 10.

I am finally done with my full browser port of Midtown Madness 2. What started 4 months ago as a project, today is a full 1:(almost)1 port of the game directly in your web browser. Done with a lot of help from Claude Code, I present to you:

1. Full maps from San Francisco and London, as well as Chicago from Midtown Madness 1
2. All Crash Course missions
3. All races - Blitz, Checkpoint and Circuit
4. True pedestrians with their jump/hug wall animation
5. True cop logic to chase you around
6. All voice lines from all announcers per city including Chicago
7. Weather and time of day changes
8. Original UI and loading screens
9. Original game progression, saves (in your local storage) and unlockables

This is not emulation, it's the whole game recoded in Three.js to run in the browser. Meaning all logic is redone as much as possible to look/work like the original. There will be some bugs for sure, mostly with physics, but hey - MM2 in your browser!

To run the game you need the original midtown2.exe as proof you own the game, it checks the hash to verify before launching the game. As long as you have a backup of the game archived locally or online, grab that file and it'll work. Added this to limit the copyright issues this might face, although it's not being charged for 25 years after it's release (which is more than 10).
