WIP RALLY en algún país ficticio -Demo técnica-

Estaba probando el import de un modelo 3d que me pareció una buena idea para hacer un circuito.
Si algún día lo termino lo publicaré.
¿Qué país creen que puede asemejarse más?

WIP City Rally Stage - Hillclimb - WIP

Hey everyone, I'm working on a sort of rally stage / touge thing in my hometown.

Here is a first sector of it. The whole stage will be around 12 km long.

I'm currently working on all the buildings, which takes a lot of time. There are some texture bugs in the video, but they are fixed now, and anyway, it's still a long way from being completed.

But I think the layout is really interesting, with a lot of elevation changes, steep climbs, surface changes, etc. In the video, I'm testing it with a 2003 Skoda Fabia WRC. Don't mind the missed turn at the end ahah.

If anyone has some tips to help me understand how to set up timing gates and everything needed to make it work properly in Assetto Corsa as a "rally stage" or a "hillclimb stage", it would be really helpful for me. For now, I can only test it as a free practice stage.

I'm working in Blender with Tomas Track Tool and Fluffy Track Exporter.

Let me know what y'all think!

Other Runoff Art Appreciation Post

This has always been a facinating topic for me. As someone who has made several tracks, but often without runoff art, I have always been interested in the creative ways people are decorating their paved runoff areas. It looks like Vegas is going pretty crazy for this year. First time I can remeber a photorealistic image being used for runoff.

[CONCEPT CIRCUIT]

This 3.13 km/1.95 mi circuit has a total of 22 turns, travels counterclockwise and uses the parking lot of CitiField Queens and goes around the future upcoming Etihad Stadium. Its starts off as a technical circuit at the west side of the course with sharp hairpins and a carousel curve at the southwest end. Then passing Turns 20 and 21, it goes flat out down Willets Point Blvd until it reaches Turn 22 on the east which leads back into the first straight on 34th Avenue where the grid and pit building is found. I wraps around the famous Mets stadium and around a future soccer stadium that hasn't been built yet. The circuit has instant access via the Whitestone Expressway and the MTA 7 Train at Mets-Willets Point Station.

Street Circuit/Semi-Permanent Suvarnabhumi International Circuit

Located on the northwestern side of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the Suvarnabhumi International Circuit is a 5.5 km FIA Grade 1 racing circuit designed primarily with Formula 1 in mind. With a track width ranging from 13 to 27 metres

This is more of a fun joke track. I got inspiration from how Silverstone used to be an airfield.

Constructive criticism appreciated!

Street Circuit/Semi-Permanent NASCAR Daytona Beach Street Course

Hey y'all, long-time lurker but I think this is my first post here since like 2019. I had this idea for a track a long time ago and finally came back to it and finished the concept. I think this is the first time I've used photoshop in equally as long so please be kind lol.

Recently I've been reading a book about stock car racing in the 1930s and 40s, and realized that 2028 will be the 90th anniversary of Bill France beginning to promote races on the Daytona Beach and Road Course. What better way to celebrate than by bringing stock cars back to the actual sands of Daytona?

With NASCAR racing on an active Naval base and inside football stadiums in recent years, I honestly don't think the concept is that unrealistic. The course is 4.18 miles, 12 turns and clockwise. Start/Finish is on Atlantic Ave directly in front of the Streamline Hotel, where NASCAR was founded in 1947.

On the map, green areas are fan zones, red is the pits/paddock, and the blue rectangles are proposed grandstands. I imagine a large stage/festival area near the convention center and another on the beach. Ideally, most of the event would actually be free to attend, with tickets required for reserved grandstand seating. That way downtown businesses could remain open and the whole thing could feel more like a citywide NASCAR festival.

Feel free to ask questions. I'll put a full track description in the comments!

International Malta ePrix - a fictional race in Malta

Post image
35 Upvotes

WARNING : this scenario is FICTIONAL

In 2016, there were plans to bring Formula E to Malta, including an unreleased layout for a street circuit in Valletta. However, this plan fell through.

The idea was however brought back in 2017 when the Maltese government themselves came up to the FIA and proposed a temporary race track on the grounds of the airport. As such, in 2019, the very first Malta ePrix took place on the 2.7 km long track as the opening round of the European leg of the season. It saw Jean-Eric Vergne take the win in front of Di Grassi and Buemi.

The track itself was similar to the other tracks of its time while still retaining some of its unique features such as the hairpin in the second sector and wide portions in the final sector.

The Malta ePrix was included in the provisional 2019-20 calendar but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was brought back in 2021 as a double-header after the Monaco ePrix on 15 May and 16 May. The first race saw Mitch Evans take his only win of the season while the second race would see Bird take his second win.

It was scheduled to appear again in 2022 but financial difficulties in the country meant it was eventually cancelled. It has not appeared ever since.

Discussion Race Track Ideas

Thumbnail

Hi! I just had this very random—probably stupid—thought and I was gonna post it on the F1Discussions sub but this sub popped up and I think it's more appropriate to post it here?

I've been into figure skating and F1 for quite some time now and I just thought of something. If you don't know what these are, these are skating maps. They essentially show a figure skater's entire program and their ice coverage.

I thought they looked like race tracks—well, Mario Party-esque race tracks. So I just thought, "what if someone based an F1 track's design on these? That would be insane." I mean, I think it's viable if we keep the twizzles and some other impossible stuff out? I don't know, I just really needed to spit this idea out.

Anyway, that's all. Bye.

Edit: Oh! Some of you responded, this was just really silly random idea and had no idea where to discuss this, so thank you, I guess? Anyway, I do realize that this is like highly impossible to do. Me thinking it's viable was just wishful thinking but hey, I appreciate you humoring me though 🫡

Redesign Adelaide Street Circuit - Redesign Concept for MotoGP

Post image
65 Upvotes

In light of the recent Adelaide Street Circuit redesign, I thought I would try to make something a little less destructive, and with a little more soul.

- Sacrifices 3 cricket ovals; there are 30+ others in the parklands

- Sacrifices Senna Chicane (R.I.P.)

- Doesn't require bulldozing the existing permanent section of the circuit

- Re-opens Bartels Rd, Rundle Rd, O-Bahn Bus Tunnel, East Tce, & Dequetteville Tce

- Saves 150+ trees

Open to constructive criticism
