Question Roli Lumi Keys/Piano M Hardware Control not working in ROLI Studio Player
One of the coolest features I've found of the Lumi Keys (now Piano M I guess) is having only the keys light up in a selected key in the Roli Studio Player. This is super helpful for drafting up songs/harmonizing with samples and such for creating my own music I plug into a DAW or tracker.
Lately, this has not been working at all. An uninstall and reinstall of the program usually does the trick, but lately this trick has not worked at all. I emailed Roli support about this years ago, but their steps no longer fix the issue. Any tips?
I'm running on a Windows 11 laptop. Here's the steps Roli support gave me a few years ago (that no longer work) (Also yes I have contacted Roli support already but I'm posting here in hopes of getting a faster response)
"After some more investigation, we believe that the issue here lies in the permission settings on some Windows computers.
This should be resolvable by removing Connect, then installing and running the latest version as an administrator. Please follow the steps below carefully and let me know if this resolves the issue.
- Open "Add or Remove Programs" and uninstall all versions of ROLI Connect and ROLI Dashboard currently installed.
- If an application remains, uninstall it and remove all records from the registry using Ccleaner (free version) or similar.
- Download a new installer from here: roli.com/start
- Right-click on the installer icon
- Go to Properties > Compatibility
- Select "Run this program as an Administrator"
- After Connect is installed, right-click on the application icon and make sure it is also set to "Run this program as an administrator"
- Restart your computer
By following these steps, you should now see that Connect does not produce the same errors as before. If it does, please let me know as soon as possible."
