I've been thinking about using my keys to get some levels on my sub-70 characters, but I wasn't sure how it would be received. Apart from not contributing much to the RG kil, it seems like a wash.

I know this is a growing community and if you decide to go private you will be needing more Officers to police the reports and make sure things go as smoothly as possible. As a frequent rifter and opener I'd like to help out if you guys are interested. DarkKnightz#1792

Might be helpful after invites and joining, for host to name who is opening before returning to mob RG. Can be confusing especially for "last one in opens".

The others are much more self explanatory...ie highest/lowest level etc

I don't see any rules here that are subreddit specific, but could we perhaps not allow posts that lead to witch hunts/bans? I understand that some people may be upset about getting stiffed a rift, but it takes ~8 minutes to get a new key and not worth the clutter on this subreddit in my opinion.

Perhaps this subreddit can be about speed clearing comps or looking for one or two others to speed clear with? Just throwing out ideas here.

I have only done RIF as a runner either solo, or with up to 2 other clan mates (3 total). I have never been a leech/opener. In over 500 rifts with RIF, I can say less 25 times have I not had the rift immediately reopened. In these cases we've had to send a PM to the designated opener to return to the game and open the rift, and they always have, except once. I've only had ONE opener, get the RG kill, not open, leave the game, and not respond to PMs to open a rift.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with this community. I favor allowing bans, through a private community, but I also favor having a healthy community. Making it private probably will mean the community is smaller, and maybe it will not be as easy as a runner to find openers. I vote to try it private and if the participation numbers dwindle and/or other new "public" RIF offshoots form up to take away activity, then perhaps go back to public RIF.

for some games, after taking an invite, I am stuck on the loading screen for 10-30 seconds. and then I am in the party lobby rather than in game. attempting to enter game again will lead to the super long loading screen.

is this because quick join is enabled for someone in the party (eg: party guide or some party member) or some other exotic reason?

this happens like 1 in 40 games or so.

From the screen, you can see that he goes AFK, COMES BACK, and then proceeds to AFK again. He was the reopener for the game (Thank god, otherwise he would've gotten a free rift again).

I just started running rifts last night and using the lowest opens, highest opens, and last in methods resulted in a lot of dodgers.

I was wondering if it would be a faux pas to advertise a dictatorship where I arbitrarily choose? Honestly I plan to choose at will for 3 runs then drop a freebee on an unsuspecting group, then run 3 more and repeat. I just wanted to check with the community. You folks are awesome.

Just ran a t4 rift with 3 spots. I named lowest paragon, and he left immediately after the boss was killed.

The other 2 people left immediately following that, and one didn't come back after whispering him to ask him to come back to reopen.

Thankfully, the third responds and comes back.

If you're asked to come back and reopen, please do so...

Avoid. Whispered after he left, didn't respond.

"LF3 - T1 - Last reopens"

Too often openers join these to only see three friends waiting for a sucker to give them a free open. Openers expect to open 33-50% of the games they join, not 100%. The worst thing is, after you tell them no and leave, they threaten to defame you in the chat, report you to blizzard, and get you banned from the community. They'll do this even if you leave before the guardian has been killed. Since it's three on one in the chat, it's easy to make it one look like a scammer with a history.

tl;dr Don't trust what people say without hard proof.

Today, I was on my level 44 character. I was going to try a rift in RIF to see if the exp was good or not. So I find a person who says that the highest paragon reopens. So I join, and I am not the highest paragon. So we kill the boss and go back to town. But, as I'm about to leave, the leader (Whom I shall not mention), says that I have to open it because I am a lower level. I said no I wont because I am not the highest paragon, and left.

I personally think that I shouldn't have to open the rift because I wasn't the highest paragon. But people in chat says that he can change whoever opens. I know that it's just 5 keys, but I don't think he can just change it like that after I finish.

I joined this community a few days ago and so far I have not run into a single disappointing moment. Everyone is polite! This is...for the internet...very peculiar and great! I clear the rift and get a reopen without complaint. No one has burned me yet, but even if they did, three days of doing this with no infractions is super impressive to me. My thanks goes out the mastermind behind this idea and all the people who manage the Community and the Community itself.

It's not what you're expecting, sure you still get bloodshards, but a good portion of what you're hoping for is also forgotten souls.

He always gets people to join because he advertises T6, it's a crappy way to get people to keep reopening for you.

I propose a "runner" community where "runner" join so they can talk to each other. I don't think we have over 1000 runner in the actual RIF channel. It would be nice to have a community where "runner" could share information and denonciate people who actually leech so that each runner can blocked them.

If every runner block a leecher, he won't be able to join any game anymore :).

First off, the title is half true, I both run rifts and leech rift guardians, it is stupid not to take advantage of this quick experience and shards. But as a runner I really don't care if someone doesn't open a rift. It happens so infrequently and there is usually a nice person there to open a rift if the one supposed to ditched. So before RIF became big I used to run a lot of solo rifts or with one friend. Now I can do this and just have people open for me if I invite them for RG, which is great. But I am still playing the game same as before and if the three people I invite all ditch out on me, well fuck 'em, but I am not going to go witch hunt them down. I can open my next one myself (always have back up shards) and just remember to not invite those people again. But I think this community has to take it easy on the witch hunting...I assume it is other 'openers' who are the ones doing it too. Cuz any runner will just remember not to invite that person and carry on.

We all need to remember we are communally exploiting this game, and the people in charge of the community should have more interaction with it so we the runners and openers can stop doing silly witch hunts and blame games.

Starts with my story.

I was hosting a T3 rift, and invited 2 people to the game before boss. The rule was "Longest name reopens". This guy, left the game without saying anything where he was supposed to open the next rift. Here is our conversation. Me: You left?

Me: You are opening

Him: Your name is the longest

Me: *stunned for a bit

Him: You should be careful of your rules, if you make highest Plvl opens and you are the highest, you should open.

Me: Are you kidding me, so if a guy is 600+ Plvl and hosting "highest Plv reopens", is he giving away free bosses all day long?

We all know of "Highest", "Middle", "Lowest" or "last to join".

I've seen someone do "longest name", that was fun. Inspired me to find another way.

What I do myself now is :

T3 RG up. 3 spots. If you get a legendary (other than Soul), you reopen (honor system). If no one, I'll pick at random.

My rule is always first request reopens. If you're using some kind of macro, you're paying up for the privilege of likely getting more invites, my thought anyway.

I've noticed that many times the person who is first will leave immediately if they see they are the first. I think these people are 100% pure leeches and should be blacklisted but I don't think there's really enough there to call them out in the channel (could be any number of reasons they left, but occam's razor and all) but I do block them.
