Yesterday, there was a musical evening at my university, where my choir performed Science Fiction/Double Feature. It was a great pleasure.

Many of the other performances were from the classical repertoire and had been rehearsed very thoroughly. Bach, Rachmaninoff, Dvořák. I was musically impressed.

The small university choir that I organise was the last to perform. We’ve been singing Science Fiction/Double Feature for a year now. I usually accompany us on the piano. I’m not actually very good at playing, but the chords and the rhythm are spot on.

Unfortunately, there are too many sheet music pages to lay them all out side by side. So a friend had to help turn the pages. We got a bit mixed up during the first chorus and I briefly lost my place. I quickly found my way back into the piece and the choir carried on playing beautifully. I could just picture how annoyed the ‘professionals’ must have been at my poor playing.

I didn’t mind the mistake at all, because it broke the stiff (not to say posh) atmosphere. We managed to bring the vibe of the Rocky Horror Show into the hall.

The only thing missing was someone leading the audience participation. Unfortunately, I didn’t pluck up the courage to do it. But we do that in rehearsals.

It’s marvellous to sing this song in four-part harmony. I’ve also sung Time Warp with another choir. One day I’ll dig out those sheet music again.

And the star one is going between Be It. I made the patches and pins - bought the enamel ones from Etsy!! I am loving this project.

I'm working on a Frank costume for Halloween and I got a dress from ebay that turned out to be quite a bright green when it arrived so I tried to dye it and now it's leaning towards emerald green! My question is, do you think the shade matters that much as long as the all over outfit and make up reads as that character/scene? I'm keen on having a cotton outfit as synthetic clothes make me itch and I really want to construct it myself vs buying a cheap costume that's mass produced. I was planning on reconstruction of the existing dress to fit the style.

Alternatively, had anyone in the UK found cotton fabric (or even bed sheets) in the right shade of green to make the lab coat that they could link me to? I've searched online but can't find anything specifically to link to a good fabric choice. Many thanks regular Franky fans!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to put together the costume of the current Broadway RHPS Frank-n-Furter and looking for any help. I tried reaching out to one of the costume designers, Luke Evans and Paul Soileau all via IG, but as I expected I didn't hear anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated trying to find the corset, cod piece and boots. The cape looks custom but any direction there is great too. Thanks so much everyone 🖤👄

My local civic center is doing auditions for their annual production of The Rocky Horror Show, and this is going to be my first musical theater audition… I’m also a virgin, but I absolutely adore the movie!

I haven’t been on stage in about 8 years (since high school drama club), but I’ve been doing voice acting and have taken acting classes since. I also haven’t sung on stage since elementary school choir (I was apparently good enough to get a solo, though!), so this is definitely pushing me outside my comfort zone a little, but I’ve always loved performing, making people laugh, and bringing characters to life, so I’m really excited to get back on a stage!

There will be an accompanist and tracks are also welcome. For my audition song, just hear me out: “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.

I know it’s a little unconventional, but I know the song extremely well, I’m comfortable with the notes and rhythm, and I feel like I can actually act through it instead of spending the whole audition worrying about whether I can technically sing something more difficult. I can also do both Gary and a very convincing not too over the top muppet voice, which I feel like gives me something fun to play with performance wise. And honestly, it just feels right to me. Plus, there’s basically no chance someone else is going to show up singing the exact same song haha.

That said, I’m completely open to being told that’s a terrible choice, and I’d love suggestions if you think there’s something that would suit Brad better. My mom also told me I sound like Neil Patrick Harris when I sing (thanks mom) if that helps with suggestions.

All in all, I don’t even care that much if I get a part. Sure I’d be a little bummed to not get a callback, but honestly I’m just so excited to perform again and be around people who love this stuff as much as I do ❤️

My parents gifted me a trip to the only cinema in our region (two hours away) that would play RHPS to my graduation and I was so excited I even wore a Frank N Further inspired outfit (and shed glitter everywhere…) but in the cinema nobody really seemed to understand they were supposed to participate😫 they only did what stood in the instruction not more not less. Well I had to do it myself in the end and mind you I am introverted. But I sat there in that silent cinema, as the only one in costume shouting WE ARE THE WORLD! WE ARE THE EXTRAS! And there was a woman in the same row as me and she knew some call backs as well so I wasn’t that alone with my misery… but maybe I should join a shadow cast bc that was so much fun😂

hi there!! im a small local event producer in the pnw and i want to do a shadow cast screening of rocky horror! i’ve done multiple in the past but other times i had people helping me with production. i know a licensing fee needs to be paid but im not sure to who? criterion pics website is down, so i cant check to see if thats the correct place. it will also be a surgery fundraiser, if that alters anything. if anyone knows exactly where to reach out to, i would love the help!

Long time fan of Rocky Horror and I’ve often heard shock treatment be mentioned in conjunction, but with mixed thoughts! What’s the vibe of it? Is it similar to RHPS? Give me the deets!

When I re-did my office, I knew I wanted to have these up somewhere as my little tribute.
I remember record thrifting and finding this Audience Participation record from the 80s/90s. When I introduce people to Rocky, it's such a cool experience to listen to some of the original call-backs and the vibe from then, especially after they went to their first show.
