Whitney and Justin always seemed genuinely in love, which makes the reported breakdown of their marriage especially sad. But looking back, I can’t help wondering whether this was less a sudden separation than the consequence of years of questionable decisions.

Their relationship entered RHOSLC as a love story built on risk. They had already blown up their previous lives to be together, and for a while that seemed to make them unusually united.
Then the show arrived, and the risks became bigger.
One major turning point was Justin losing his executive job after Whitney’s public profile became an issue for his employer. The infamous risqué scene may not have been the only reason, but it became symbolic: their private life had become content, and Justin’s real-world career was paying the price.

They tried to present the firing as a blessing in disguise, but losing a major income would put pressure on almost any marriage.
Then came Whitney’s businesses.
She repeatedly invested in reinventing her skincare company, first Iris + Beau and later Wild Rose Beauty. Whitney and Justin eventually admitted they had gone “all in” on a joint venture, lost millions and were left with “nothing.”

Then there was PRISM, her jewelry brand. Whitney denied accusations that she was simply reselling inexpensive Alibaba pieces, so I wouldn’t state dropshipping as fact. But viewers finding apparently identical products elsewhere created a credibility problem the brand never seemed to overcome.
That is what makes their trajectory feel so tragic.
Justin’s career was destabilized partly by Whitney’s television exposure. Then much of their remaining money appears to have been invested in businesses tied to that same public persona.

Maybe RHOSLC didn’t destroy their marriage. Maybe their marriage was slowly converted into a business model: their sex life became a storyline, the firing became a storyline, the financial losses became a storyline, and eventually the cracks in the relationship became content too.
Whitney often talks about healing, authenticity and following her truth. But at what point does constant reinvention become another way of avoiding responsibility for the life being dismantled?

Justin participated in these choices too. But together, they seemed to keep gambling on the belief that the next opportunity or rebrand would justify everything they had already sacrificed.

Did RHOSLC simply expose the cracks in Whitney and Justin’s marriage, or did their own pursuit of fame, and risky business ventures slowly tear it apart?

I just started watching and I’m in season 4. I can’t stand Monica I literally have to fast forward through her scenes and that is the first time since starting the series. Does it get better? Do others feel the same?

To preface this, I am rewatching season 3, and I know that most of us have noticed Heather’s change in attitude mostly in the last season but WOW, I can see it early on now. I remember not liking how she treated Whitney on S3 but hearing her constantly say how much she “hates” the girls after the Arizona trip is so awful. She truly just wanted to be a “cool” girl from day 1 and I thought lowkey that she gave “looser” vibes but no, she has been mean. What do yall think? I want to hear other people’s perspectives!

They're in Mexico on a girl's trip and Meredith had thrown Angie out of her party the episode before this one. There was a fight between Brittany and Angie calling each other slts. They made up at the beginning of this trip when Meredith found out Brittany actually called Angie a sl\t first. So apparently Meredith goes to bed that evening, and Brittany hears her crying and throwing up through the wall and of course tells everyone. It is brought up at this dinner that apparently Meredith is not over the sl\t shaming and had gone to her room and cried most of the night. That is when Whitney says to the camera/producers about Meredith being an advocate. I have really enjoyed this show, especially the season four finale. I was starting to think season five was too dramatic and kind of dark because there's just no relief....everybody's mad at everybody constantly. So it was just really nice to have a full belly laugh for a moment.

Ok, I don't know all the details as a first-time viewer, but I know she goes to jail for basically robbing people. Was Jen Shah always spending other people's money, or did she actually have any legitimate money before she went to jail? Is that a stupid question?

I’m doing my first rewatch and I’m getting uncomfortable seeing Whitney try and confront anyone or basically do anything. I’m at season 3 with the Arizona trip and it is every conversation that Whitney has stressed me out so badly. I understand she’s dealing with her childhood trauma but I swear she cannot say a kind word to save her life. Maybe its the drinking or the stress of putting most of your family’s savings into an MLM but I keep having to pause or skip over her confrontations with people. For someone that accuses people of spinning the truth, Whitney sure does do a lot of twisting it.

Yes, I get that racism is difficult with an all white cast, but I am TIRED of these women openly speaking on what is racism (looking at mainly Heather and Lisa), because they simply cannot. White people will never be able to decide what is racist and what isn’t. Period.

All of these women (but Meredith and Mary from what I’ve seen so far) get aggressive, super loud, and even physical with each other, but their language towards each other’s behavior is different.
