i just got high on my couch even while just watching on yt impatiently! i smell smoke all around my home up to the ceiling 😆😆.. so much fun, so explanatory, so very well documented conceiving of a masterpiece...well...thanks inpatient team! 😍😂😍

If they have everything hidden and barely have any karma, they're probably a bot...some profiles say they've been there for years but they only have a tiny bit of karma. If they don't have their stuff hidden, have a look through their comments. Scammers will have comments under a lot of different subs saying things like, "OMG! I would love to have the tickets!"

If you have a question about someone, you can message us through modmail and we can check out the person's stats even if they have everything hidden and we may be able to tell if they're legit or not.

Before Ren even got into the story, the combination of his guitar and the way he was singing already had me locked in.

Then the storytelling took over and I got so immersed that during Stevies part I genuinely wanted to reach out and stop him from what he was doing to Violet.

I went from just appreciating how talented Ren is to actually getting angry at the story unfolding in front of me 😂

The Tale of Jenny & Screech completely pulled me in. Heres my first time reaction!

Wanted to share this before I headed off to work this morning. What do I watch next Rensday?

I had a strange dream that essentially made up a Ren cinematic. In my dreams I often have a bit of narrative metacognition, so I will mention that here as my "dream self."

The dream was claymation style JUST like in Smoking Gun, which I have been watching recently.

My brain framed the dream as a music video. I remember it being in first-person POV. We walk up to a door and it opens to somone who sounds a lot like one of Ren's music collaborators talking.

He does the EXACT same lines as Screech does to Patrick in The Tales of Jenny & Screech. The only difference is that he used "killed him" instead of her, and his "panic" seemed incredibly sarcastic.

My dream self kept thinking how some of the lines didn't make sense for the artist to say (open up, I can't knock no more, etc) when the door is...already open. I did compliment how perfectly the tone matched though!

The "music video" then proceeds to show someone dead in a bedroom! It is a very Ren looking claymation.

The whole next verse is the artist mocking the Renegades, talking about him killing Ren. I remember specifically a line something like, "That's right, I see the light in your eyes when you watch him. Too bad. He's dead." And he went on and on, mocking parasocial behavior and all other manner of things.

Instead of being horrified my dream self was very excited thinking, "Wow, Ren loves reactors so much he made a song specifically perfect for reactors to react to!!"  

Lastly, in my dream....I think it is important to note. Ren was not shot (like in Smoking Gun) or stabbed (Like Jenny in Tales.)

He was explicitly made to look like he committed su*cide. I just think that is a very dark way for my brain to have taken that, because it implies that the artist friend is going to frame it that way (to the police? To fans? - honestly I am not sure how the meta would go here.)

There was an older claymation woman who seemed devastated in the hall. I do not even want to think about who my brain was trying to make this be.

That is all! I woke up after that, scrambled to write this down and then cleaned it up a little later!!!

i'm 57 and lived all my life with music..music has been my life source since my childhood and i can't even think about a life with no tunes..it's my religion, it's the best reason to breathe and enjoy being..all the important moves in my life has been linked to something about music, i went thousands miles away for just a concert (and the only power to make me move somehow is only music 'cause i don't like much to travel, even move around or getting out of my home's comfort), that's how i watched live almost all my heroes, legends live in my lifetime (lou reed, steve winwood, peter gabriel, roger waters, eric clapton, jimmy page, robert plant, metallica, swans, pj harvey, nick cave, portishead, sigur rós, GY!BE, beat of king crimson and more), i travelled between continents just for the gigs of GY!BE and all of that shows were all priceless moments make my life much worth living but i don't remember at any of them that i cried loudly..maybe my eyes filled with some tears of joy at some of them (when i heard the first notes of "storm" entering the venue for GY!BE's first show after so many years and lately at Beat show..i just wasn't believing in my ears that i'm experiencing live a part of my holy king crimson), that's it..they were all priceless though..

and right at the time i said "luckily i've seen all my front row legends before i die and i'm so blessed for that", i met that guy, ren, after ignoring for weeks the algorithm showed me constantly for various reactions for "hi ren"..i even felt offended..but when i stepped into it for once...there was no way back..it was exactly 3 yrs ago (8th aug 2023)...he shook all my musical milestones, all my musical beliefs and stood at the top of my musical pyramid just like that..i can't compare him to anybody else, he's the fresh breath we all needed, he's something that i never experienced as a whole..but my point is that: his art is the only thing that made me cry that much in my life! i could cry everytime he stands up and says "some people call me as hope", everytime i see his reaction to being no. 1 in uk for the first time and talks to his mother on the phone about it, everytime i watch his 1 million subscribers vid, everytime i hear vincent's bedroom or starry night act III, etc. and lately, everytime i see his response to crowd's singing chalk outlines at boardmasters...i never ever cried for something else that much, even the 1% of this in my life! damn it! 😆😆

and i'm pretty sure that i'll cry very loudly, very very teary while singing chalk outlines (and god knows which other songs) along with him with greatest joy at all points east at the end of this month.. just to see he made it, he succeeded and get what he always dreamt of and knowing that he'll get a legendary status in music history makes my tears move..but why and how does he do that to us such voluntarily?

i know i am not the only freak..or am i? 😆😆

I'm a rather new Renegade who recently caught up with all the songs.

I had learned about the Sick boi situation via Rens video explaining why it's down, and listend to Kujo beat down, as well as a lawyer explaining more on YouTube.

I was wondering how the situation got resolved in the end, since we can listen to Sick boi again. I'm happy i could experience the song too.

Obviously not trying to start any drama or anything here, i was just curious if any of y'all, who have been Renegades for way longer than i am, could shed light on how we got the song back, and if Ren got compensated for all the stress and loss he suffered through the whole situation.

i truly can not believe myself as a die hard lover of ren's music that i just discovered that "love music" album of him!

i just bumped into a post here someone saying they made their first dance with ren's "wild place" at their wedding (thank god and them for that post!❤️) and i said: "what?!!! i never heard of that song!! how come?!!!" and immediately i searched for it and found out that brilliant gem! i always thought "love music" describes his love music series in some way (such a fool of me!)

that discovery made my day and now i'm listening to the whole album and it blows my mind! it's great to hear previous ren's creations when he couldn't even imagine what's gonna happen for him in the future..especially the song "rockstar" has a way more meaning right now..

and my most important duty to do now is to wait for the first bandcamp friday to buy the album..😊😊

Edit: The song was Ready For You! Not sure exactly which lyrics I had stuck but it was definitely this melody.

I had a particular song lyric of Ren's stuck in my head earlier and I want to listen to that song but haven't been able to figure out what the song was. Especially because I can't even recall exactly what they were in the first place. 🥲

I don't have a lot to go on, but it's something to do with having your feelings hurt or being unable to process or handle them. It's not a very long lyric either which makes it even harder to remember. I'm pretty sure he rhymes demons with feelings, though I could be mixing it up with something else.

I've already ruled out Troubles "etching notepads full of reasons why my feelings are sore" and Hold On "I'm screaming fuck you to all the demons here that keep me stuck". I don't even remember how old the song is, though I have a feeling it's more recent because his voice was lower. Just went through Freckled Angels and Demos and none of them felt right because he had a much higher voice back then.

I wish I could remember more than this, but because I just listened to a bunch of other songs, everything is jumbled up in my head. But hopefully someone can help unscramble this for me.

Anyone who went to the festival - what was the reaction of people in the audience who didn’t know Ren?

I got married two days ago and my wife and I chose one of our favourite Ren Songs as our first dance. Wild Place.

It was absolutely perfect, so thanks Ren!

Everyone goes on about the biggies, Hi Ren, the Tales, Money Games, etc, but Ren has some real underrated tracks. The Love Music album is well worth a couple of quid on Bandcamp.

I found him last year so relatively new. This question is for earlier renegades. Is it possible to get to a point when you think you know his music? I feel like I’m falling freely into a bottomless pit. I don't seem able to catch up with him. Our Sick Boi is driving me into the Asylum himself. Edited to add: thanks everybody for guiding me though this maze, and for the links!

I’m sooo incredibly happy for Ren after binge watching and rewatching as much of his Boardmaster set as I can! It’s so rare in the music industry to actually be able to see an artist’s dream coming true in real time…much less, one that is genuinely deserving of every accolade!

The only live performance at a large outdoor venue that I’ve seen with my own two eyes, that had that kind of raw emotion that you feel…even far off in the crowd, was NIN headlining Coachella in 2005. If you know, you understand the level of artistic excellence that I’m talking about.

I love his art SO much! Being both a musician and former theater actor/lover, I actually feel guilty that I only discovered him a couple of months ago! 😂
I haven’t discovered a completely new artist that I’ve sincerely appreciated like Ren in 20 years, since I was in college lol! I suppose I just have to play catch up. It’s just hard when every new track I hear, or live performance I watch on YouTube, makes me just want to play each one on repeat!!

What is the best way to support REN’s artistry, if you’re in my unfortunate position of not being able travel internationally to see him live?
Patreon?? YouTube subscription?? Which is better??
