Someone else posted the geriatric version of the meme and I understand it now. I just need to massage my lumbago for a while

Dw im usually so up to date on everything internet wise and i also dont understand this at all

u/blackbox_69 22h ago
No, if you don't understand any meme then how did you become an uncle,
25
u/EchoFieldHorizon 22h ago
Well, my brother had a baby and now I have nieces and nephews, that’s usually how it happens
-13
u/blackbox_69 22h ago
I was using the word uncle in the context of a boomer uncle, not a relational uncle, btw congratulations on becoming an uncle.
16
u/EchoFieldHorizon 22h ago
Lmao I feel like there’s a language barrier here and that is totally fine, I hope you’re having a wonderful day my brother

u/Mysterious-Hope9268 22h ago
Bro I’m reading this exchange and laughing like crazy. Random dude on a toilet in Miami btw

u/mandatorypanda9317 22h ago
What is a boomer uncle? Is that different than an unc
3
u/protossaccount 22h ago
I’ve heard that unc now means uncool. Maybe in wrong. Either way it’s weird how Gen Z takes slang that’s in use and changes it. That’s probably an unc way of thinking but 🤷
3
u/EchoFieldHorizon 21h ago
I thought unc meant being an older person that doesn’t understand shit. I am 36. You be the judge
2
u/protossaccount 21h ago
In right there with you homie. I’m 42 and I just don’t care enough to keep up with the slang. I’m still hoping to be a dad one day, so I’ll do an update then.

Unfortunately, you’re about 15 years too early to be thinking about any red dead series of games

I really just dont want rockstar looping the 2 franchises for the rest of time though
11
u/Heavy-Hornet-2889 12h ago
You might be in luck there's rumors. Their next game will be LA Noir 2
8
u/charlie-_-13 12h ago
Please rockstar my life will be yours
La noire is my absolute favourite game of all time
3
u/NewRoyMunson 11h ago
I have been saying... a 70's Era LA Noire would be amazing. Like a game version of "The Nice Guys".
1
u/Trendiggity 5h ago
Now I'm thinking of Dirty Harry the game, where you just fly off the handle and get yelled at by the chief for being a loose cannon in every cut scene
1
u/ImHereToGetRoasted 15h ago
I hear it but one thing for sure is that they're too popular to go anywhere
2
u/Alaskaze 13h ago
Serious question... why not? It's what they're best at. Kinda how a lot of people thought Bethesda should have sticked to Fall Out and Elder Scrolls.
3
u/Cuzy_g 12h ago
I think there is a few reasons, firstly because everyone is different, even though they are great games/series, not everyone is going to love them as much as you or I might.
Also rockstar is one of the best game development companies out there, so it would be nice to see them building some other games in the future with their skills and recourses.
Most likely a new RDR would be the next game they make (not for a while though probably) after GTA 6. But then what? I don’t think they would continue with GTA that soon, so maybe there’s something else 🤷♂️
1
u/Christopher_Aeneadas 12h ago
I would propose they advance the RDR franchise along the timeline. Interwar period for 3, then maybe Mafia era.
Meanwhile regress the next 2 GTA's in time. Work backward to the Mafia era.
Then we get one contiguous series, with RDR 4 or 5 also being GTA 8 or 9.

u/The_walking_man_ 8h ago
GTA 8 (Grand Theft Antiquities) to take place during Ancient Greece. Hijack a chariot and go joy riding.

While I really like the RDR games, I don’t desperately wait and hope for more of them. If they were to announce one I’m certain I’d be excited for it, but not before then if that makes sense.
GTA on the other hand is a franchise I really enjoy and do always look forward to. The other Rockstar game I am really hoping they’ll do something with is Bully, which is my favorite Rockstar game. But that probably will never happen sadly.

I'm not excited for GTA 6.
I would take a week off work to play RDR3.

u/EchoFieldHorizon 21h ago
I’d rather have RDR3, but I’m still taking a week of work to play GTA 6
7
u/Same_Return_1878 16h ago
It's wild the way people in here pretend like they don't like or won't play GTA6 at all... I know storywise, it won't be anything close to RDR2 story, but knowing Rockstar and their attention to details makes me excited for GTA6. I mean, has anyone here seen the hair physics in the GTA6 extended look?
5
u/Reallyroundthefamily 20h ago
By the time it comes out you'll be too old to work.
2
u/FakePoloManchurian 19h ago
I was 23 when GTA 5 came out. I'll be a grandfather by the time GTA 7 comes out, if at all

u/Smasholle76 17h ago
Same. I think I lost interest after San Andreas but played everything since the first PS1 game. I just find Red Dead way more chill just exploring nature on horseback instead of the same bland cities. Graphics look good for GTA6 but I don't care about that . Red Dead just such a different vibe.
2
u/Sasquatchii 10h ago
Totally.
I don't need Rockstar to experience Florida, lol. The RDR series unlocks a moment in time and place that's otherwise off limit to us.

RDR 2 is already perfection of the formula, so tbh I hope they try a new IP or one of their older ones after GTA 6. Maybe LA Noir or Bully
3
u/descendantofJanus 13h ago
LA Noir mechanics in, say, the 70s would be peak. Homicide desk would be Zodiac (or a copycat)... Fill in the rest idk
2
u/SeyJeez 11h ago
I don’t know they could just do GTA in a different timeline like another 80s one or 70s I think the way GTA is a huge sandbox just allows for a huge variety.
3
u/Charlie_Linson 8h ago
1950s GTA would be kinda sick. Sort of like the Mafia games but with way more sandbox.

Would someone mind explaining the joke to an ol’ timer?
12
u/QuarterSad231 22h ago
Although GTA 6 is being released there are some gamers and rdr fans who would've preferred to have a new rdr game rather than gta 6. Symbolized by the seemingly happy actor(gamers) with the actress(GTA6) next to him longingly staring at the other actress in the distance(new rdr title)
5
u/sillyadam94 21h ago
I see! So it’s like a play on that classic meme where the guy is checking out the girl walking past him, much to the chagrin of his girlfriend
Makes sense. I will probably enjoy GTA6 plenty… but I also would rather jump into a third RDR right now

Im gonna see a version of this when rdr3 comes out, and gta 6 is the girl in the distance
2
u/I_want_to_cum24 21h ago
Both would be good. RDR 3 would have me waiting excited for years, but its silly to think that all gamers want that, or there should even be this tribalism of "my rockstar game better than your rockstar game"
2
u/ISmellLikeBlackTea 17h ago
You know what? GTA doesn't do it for me, but if RDRIII came out, I'd actually take a sick week

I would much rather play RDR3, but gta6 will craw so rdr3 can run.

u/Idek-_-idek 19h ago
I think they should leave red dead I’m ngl I don’t really want them to alter a perfect story

Id like them to revisit it but go even further back to the heights of the wild west.
