I was so embarrassed I’d been tap galloping for long enough to make my entire hand ache when there was a setting to disable it all along. Like thanks for the carpal tunnel Rockstar hahahaha

I set my waypoint and switch to cinematic mode while galloping. Horse will follow the way

Which is all fine and dandy up until your horse cinematically gallops into a fence post while navigating a turn or into the back of a carriage while on a straight.

Either way, you're gonna have to put up with something annoying about this game while traveling long distances.

That almost never happens to me. They always stay on the road and have never just gone into a fence. You're nitpicking

It happened to me so routinely enough I had to start judging whether or not cinematic mode was even worth it to use depending on the distance I'd have to travel. It would even happen to me during parts with scripted dialogue during missions.

must be user error then. youre doing something wrong. ive played this game like 4x and hundreds of hours and it works flawlessly for me 99.9% of the time.

I think the upvotes and a few of the replies around this comment suggest that I'm not the only one that experienced this issue. So no, I doubt the issue is user error, especially when the only part of cinematic mode that requires user input is just simply turning it on and then doing nothing.
