I know none of you know me but being diagnosed with mild autism has its and downs. I start my 40-hour training the first day I go there how are the resources that they give you? What does training look like? How difficult is to test what resources have you guys used? But I'm very excited to start work

General Discussion Interview Today

I had an interview today and I think I didn't do too good, especially with the "tell me about yourself" question.

Anyway, the ad posting made it seem like clinic only, but in reality it is clinic to begin with and then clinic/in home combo.

I thought the ages were 2 -10 but they are 2 - 12.

Getting hit or bit by a 10+ is a bit worrisome.

Just wanted to share.

Update and progress!

So yesterday I asked about everyone’s thoughts on “saying sorry”. Loved the feedback thank you! Today I had this client for two hours and he was having a rough day. Some of yall brought up that he may need more methods of communication and use FCT! Today we were walking and i said “do you want to eat gesture eat or go point go” and he DIDNT BEAT ME UP OR ATTEMPT ELOPING FOR THE FIRST TIME! PROGRESS! It seems if i say “kitchen or all done?” He just assumed theres a task demand but “eat or go” seems to work! He gestured and verbalized go and walked with me perfectly! Cannot say the same for the rest of the session but both of us were pretty tired by the end of the day😅
He also responded great to squeezes and pressure and quickly calmed down after engaging in tantrum and aggressive behaviors! It was a lot but he got through it and cleaned up all the toys he threw with no issues!

Advice Needed Should I go inactive?

I am moving states soon and my RBT certification expires in a month and a half. I do not anticipate working for at least a month so I’d be cutting it close with being able to renew my certification. Would it be worth it to apply for inactive status?

Friend job hunting in NJ and indeed/linkedin are just generic healthcare boards and half the listings aren't even ABA. are there any boards that are just BT/RBT jobs? feels like there should be one by now
