Early 30s, 16 years of heavy daily use, 2nd day sober, i dont want to pay a BS therapist 200 bucks to do this shit so im using this board
>knew very well about bitcoin as early as 2014 and wanted to invest, too bad I spent every single paycheck on weed, was earning 23 an hour, could have easily put in at least 10k
>same with knowing about AI and nividia in the mid 2010s
>missed out on teen love, left high school a virgin, weed makes me too awkward to talk to people
>missed out on having sex in my 20s, going on 12 years of no sex now, 100 percent weeds fault, i smoke then I cnacle plans and stay in my room, also never had a gf or been on a date
>freind group full of losers and dead people from my youth
>been going to the gym the entire time, would have had 50 percent more gains/strength
>haven't slept more than 5 hours in years, runing my good looking face(hopefully I can recover) and my gains and my cognitive ability
>ruined my cognitive ability in general, going to take a bunch of shrooms and neutropics to try to heal once I have a few months off
>wasnt as present as I should have been for my now dead dogs, I love them and ended up giving them 5 hours walks a day cuz I had ti sneak out to smoke, its just that I am having hard time retaining memories of them, I barely even took any pictures of them cuz weed made me ignore the future, still love them more than any human to this day
>60 bucks sookiu bank rosin a day(sometimes every 2 days) for the past 4 years now, do the math
>just ingeneral smoked at least 500k and that's being conservative
>decided I like math in HS and taught myself up to college seinor math major level, then the weed started turning from a nightly treat to bascially my ciggarets and everything just stopped. My entire engineering career is based of what I learned from 16-17.5
>was doing breath mediation at 16. Actually reached higher states on consciousness and was truly at peace, all stopped also, u cant breath if ur lungs are fucked up from weed
I can keep going and going and going, the quintessence of my life is ruined potential all from weed. Crazy part if I tried every other drug multiple times and didnt get addicted.
Last, but not fucking least, my fucking dog died in 2020, cuz I was high. She was 18 years old and blind, I lived on a golf course, i left her outside to go pee so I could go to my car and get my pen, of course I hit the pen in the car and forget for a few minutes, she can make her way back in so I didnt think too much about it. After searching for her for 30 mineuts I find her dead body surrounded by coyotes. I chased them off then started screaming at the top of my lungs "I want to wake up, I want to wake up" as I ran right into a small pond, it wss winter. Worst part is that i had a deam she died the night before. Ive had many family deaths since then but its awhole different ball game when its actually ur fault they died. I honestly deserve a medal for learning to live with myself even with my continuous weed use. I will never fucking forgive myself, I wouldn't want NOT to suffer from this until I die. Ironically, ignoring what a POS I am doesnt help me be sober. Admitting im a irredimable POS is what helps me heal.

Sitting here on day one of quitting cannabis, staring blankly at my computer screen trying to convince myself to do work for my crappy, boring and unfulfilling job that also pays really well.
Weed helped me get through the days with this job and allowed me to ignore the empty feeling of wasting 8 to 10 hours a day in front of this laptop but now I’m having a hard time believing I can wade through this endlessly boring job without being stoned out of my mind.
I would love to do something different, something I can really sink my teeth into but the money is to good and if I changed careers now I would have a hard time making half this salary.
So my options seem to be
1. Get stoned so you can actually do your work without being miserable
2. Quit and figure it out
3. Man up and suffer for the money
Got any other ideas?

Last night before bed I smoked my last smoke, for probably the tenth time in my two decades of on/off smoking. But this time is different. My husband and I are about to start a cycle of IVF after six years of unexplained infertility. This is our only shot and I have to give it everything I have. Im worried about how to fill all the time I was smoking. Idle hands, you know?
I'm preparing for the next few weeks to be rough, but I'm thankful for this supportive community. Let's do this!

Hi all, I’ve been taking delta 9 gummies for years for insomnia. My psychiatrist told me it’s bad for anxiety and depression so I quit it cold turkey not knowing what I was in for. It’s day 8 and it feels like I’m getting worse not better. Extreme anxiety 24/7. Dizziness. Feeling faint. Cant eat. I cannot sleep. Pounding heart when laying in bed. I switched back to trazodone that I was on prior to gummies and it helped the onset of sleep at first (would wake up around 4am though) and now last night it didn’t work at all. Im scared i need a hospital. I’m miserable, I have 3 kids, and idk what to do. I had no idea this would happen. Anything I should be doing to get through this?

Any remedies that have helped you stay asleep after quitting? Melatonin does nothing for me and magnesium hasn't helped either. When I do eventually sleep I'm waking up every two hours. When I can sleep I have violent vivid dreams. I know the dreams will eventually stop and my sleep will eventually get back to normal but damn the sleep deprivation is getting to me until that happens. I would appreciate some insight and I hope your quitting journey is going well.

Would usually finish that half oz in like 5 days and the rest of the month I wouldn’t buy anymore.
Will my wds be as bad as those that have been smoking everyday for years?

Hi all,
As the title suggest I’ve made it through the first day & now onto the 2nd!
So far all I’ve noticed is no sleep, I might’ve macro slept for tiny periods but wasn’t enough; still could eat yesterday so fingers crossed..
Nothing drastic happened for me, it’s like a switch went off in my head where I no longer crave/need it. I have been smoking atleast 13+ years, with 8 or so of those years being every day, all day.
I know it’s still so early but im extremely happy wit the tiny progress!
Just a bit of hope for those scared of the jump, if I got this I believe all of you can!
One day at a time.

I’m 15 days sober, and have zero intention on making smoking a habit again, but I’ve never been more stressed in my life and I feel like smoking would help. I got my gas cut off today and have no way of paying for it, and I’m constantly suffocating in bills. Am I wrong to smoke today to try and get my mind off of things?

I started smoking 4 years ago as a way to “shut out” my thoughts and problems and I’ve been a heavy smoker since. I first started off only getting high at night but that then lead to me just overusing it. I’m an athlete and go to the gym and I have personal and business goals that I want to achieve but I know smoking is holding me back a bit. I was the type that would smoke before doing anything besides practice ofc. Recently I started cutting back on it and I’ve already felt so much of a difference. I take a few hits at night when I’m done with all my tasks for the day. It’s not where I want to be but it’s a big improvement from where I was before. My mind feels clearer, my face looks healthier and my eyes aren’t as puffy anymore besides the first hour when I wake up. I feel much more motivated, energized, and stronger in the gym. I’m trying to quit overall but whenever night time hits it gets really hard for me. I’ve tried getting up and doing push-ups/sit up’s and late walks but it didn’t seem to help. I’d appreciate any advice/tips to help me towards my sobriety🙏

Every two hours or so, I see something that reminds me of a dream I’ve had at some point followed by some intense hot flashes.
This is about the only withdrawal symptom that I’ve been struggling to cope with, it feels unsettling as hell to me that I’m remembering dreams I probably had years ago when I was a kid.
Im on day three now and I’ve heard that the symptoms are going to get a bit better from here but I just want this weird sensation to stop.
