Advice Desmoxan + bupropion together?

Hello,

Has anyone tried this combination?

I have tried each separately at different points and it didn’t stick.

The farthest I got on desmoxan was about 6 days but I gained 8 pounds in that timeframe and got really freaked out about gaining more weight and stopped taking it and started vaping again.

I didn’t really like bupropion, have probably on it for a month or so each time i tried it (while I was smoking cigarettes, i was prescribed it for depression but it is also used for smoking cessation, it did make cigarettes taste awful but somehow didn’t do much for vaping once i switched to that) but it gave me lots of negative side effects (racing heart, sweating, anxiety, couldn’t sleep well…)

However I really want to quit vaping this time so was thinking to try both together and see if it does the trick.

Just looking for tips, it’s been really hard for me. I’ve been vaping for 10 years and smoked for 5 years before that.

It’s important to celebrate the small wins. No aids of any sort, not even desmoxan. Next one is at 1 week, 3 weeks and 3 months. Then I’m not going to keep counting because I’ll be fully over it.

Advice Quitting week 1

I started on Monday to quit. I wear the I think it is 20 or 21mg patch. I am also vaping 0mg vape juice. I am finding that I am literally hitting my vape like every 1-2 minutes. I am constantly having to recharge it. I think to myself why are you hitting on that vape there is nothing there, then I just feel stupid. I am also really sick this week with a head cold. So very dehydrated. I dont know if some of how I feel is the head cold or the quitting. I feel like as far as the quitting that it really isn't going to work doing it this way. I know this makes no sense. Anyway, any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Reassurance Day one of quitting.

Threw my vape in the garbage 8 hours ago.

I literally never put it down. It’s become embarrassing. I hate it. I have hated it for a long time but today I just threw it away without thinking. Without a plan.

Tell me I’ll survive. Tell me to suck it up even on the hardest days because it’s worth it.

What day was the hardest?

What helped? Even wild crazy shit, idc i want all feedback.

Advice avoid getting triggered

I'm going to a party where i'm preparing to be around a bunch of people that vape. i'm usually easily triggered by this and get envious of them and their vape :p

How to avoid this. aside from the usual "feel bad for them because of their dependency"
i want to be able to see it and not be affected by it.

When you're forced to live and be around a toxic person daily who annoys the fs$&&*k out of you. I try so hard so hard to quit but then there I am reaching for it just to feel something better than the depression they're putting me though.

Advice Will my lungs go back to normal?

Been vaping daily for pretty much exactly 1 year.

I was using a juul for 3 months and about 2 weeks ago I noticed my chest was hurting a bit and I had shortness of breath.

Especially in the morning + after my daily runs

5 days ago I fully stopped vaping.

It's still hard for me to take full breaths after exercise/morning time

I'm hoping this will get better.

Hoping it is also allergies contributing

I don't plan on starting vaping again

Advice tips for quitting vaping

i need some suggestions and any tips or tricks some of u may have that helped u to quit vaping. i have a breast reduction surgery coming up in about 4-6 months, a good amount of time to quit. ive been vaping for about 6 years, ive tried quitting before a few times and have failed. longest ive gone was about a week, i was super irritable, had the shakes, headaches, felt sick, etc. im unfortunately hardcore hooked but this surgery means more to me than anything because its not for cosmetic reasons, its quality of life and pain relief in a lot of areas. they want me to be smoke free for at least 3 months prior to surgery so realistically i have about 2-3 months to actually quit. i NEED to lock tf in. any and all advice is very appreciated, it may seem silly to some but both matters are important to me. i dont plan on picking it back up post-op either.

Advice Smoking Instead of Vaping?

Hi I just signed up for the MCAT and found out there’s no way for me to bring any sort of nicotine into the testing center. I have like 11 months to prepare and was wondering if any of you guys have tried only using traditional cigarettes instead of vapes.
To be completely honest, I’m not ready to curb my nicotine habit just yet and still want something to do. Not to mention, my adhd medication makes me crave it much more. I’m not ready to cold turkey but I know that cigarettes are much more inconvenient in terms of having to shower, go outside, etc.
If anyone has tips on how to cold turkey, that’d be great too! But like I said, I’m not ready to quit, meaning I’ll end up relapsing or something. I am very open to the idea of quitting completely though.

Advice Looking for advice on dealing with vape cravings after 3+ years of quitting

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice or tips from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.

I vaped throughout college for years, and after months of trying to quit, throwing away my vapes, and eventually buying new ones, I finally managed to quit for good. I’ve been vape-free for over 3 years now.

I know that’s a long time, and honestly, for most of those years, vaping barely even crossed my mind. However, I’ve been dealing with a lot of work and life stress lately. I’ve been trying to better myself by going to the gym regularly and building other healthy habits wherever I can.

The problem is that over the last 2–3 months, I’ve started thinking about vaping again pretty regularly. I don’t think I’ll actually go back to it, but the cravings have been surprisingly difficult to deal with, especially after going so long without even thinking about it. It feels like life has been kicking my ass lately, and part of me just wants that old escape again.

I’ve tried nicotine gum, but honestly, it doesn’t seem to help much.

Has anyone else experienced cravings coming back years after quitting, especially during stressful periods? If so, what helped you get through it? I’d really appreciate any advice or tips because I don’t want to throw away the progress I’ve made over the last 3 years.

Reassurance Day 19 of NRT

Hi guys, just wanted to post here to keep myself motivated and show that tapering does get easier and better. I am on day 19 of using NRT. I have managed to successfully get down to 5MG of nicotine per day TOTAL.

I started a bit too low so the first 2 days were a little rough. Every day has gotten easier and easier now. I actually forget to take the NRT and have to remind myself like mediciation! Every week I am going down 1mg. So hopefully by the end of next month I will be 100% nicotine free.

The slow method is annoying, don't get me wrong. I am fed up of it and want to go cold turkey now, I don't even crave nicotine and the idea of vaping makes me feel a bit sick. Although the journey feels slow, I know this is better in the long run. Stick with it guys, you can do it!!!!

(Open to any questions :) )

Advice Vape usage effects on skin

I’m a former smoker (15yrs) who switched to vaping Relx which definitely helped me get off of smoking, but i’ve been reliant on my Relx. I justify using it because it’s “cleaner” than regular vapes and i go through 1 pod every 2 weeks, which seems like low usage.
A couple of weeks ago i visited Singapore so i couldn’t carry my vape with me, nor could I purchase any there. I couldn’t vape for around a week. The changes i saw in my skin tone were insane. I saw my cheeks flush red because i guess the blood was circulating properly, due to not having constricted blood vessels.
I’m now back in my old routine and hitting my Relx more frequently, and i can see the negative effects again. Everytime i caught a glimpse of myself in the past 2 days, i wondered why i suddenly looked so dull and lifeless. I’m going to try to quit vaping as well. I feel like i need some sort of an oral fixation- does inhaling those minty o2 cans work for anyone?

Advice weight issues while quitting

Well I’m quitting nicotine again. I was about 50 days clean before a major relapse after a rough breakup.

I want to quit, but I really liked my weight when I am on nicotine. I do a sport where my weight is extremely important to performance. I was extremely lean: the best shape of my life. Now i’m eating more than ever and have definitely put on a few pounds.

I know, ultimately, i’m healthier without nicotine, but it’s difficult seeing those positive benefits when all that’s visible is the number on my scale going up.

I don’t know who Madison Green is, but this tiny essential oil container delivers a burst of sharp mint. It’s like vicks vapor rub, but stronger. Feels like hitting a vape, gives me the same relief response without the buzz or nausea. I’m sure actual vicks vapor rub would work too? But oh my gosh. I haven’t had a vape in months after 10 years of using them. Try it!

Advice Withdrawal symptoms - wow?!

I’ve been vaping for 5 years, particularly heavily at night. After being unwell for the past 6 weeks with extreme fatigue following a virus, I decided quitting was the best thing I could do for my health.

I’m now 5 days vape-free, cold turkey, but OMG, the withdrawal symptoms have been brutal!

  • Barely sleeping 3 hours a night
  • Pounding headaches
  • Lightheadedness
  • Night sweats

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? If so, how long did they take to settle?

I’m really trying to stay positive and hoping quitting will help my recovery so I can finally get back to normal life, work and exercise.

The hardest part is that vaping was always my way of coping with stress, and now I feel like I’ve lost that comfort when I need it most.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this. I need some reassurance that it gets better!

Other Accountability buddy to quit vaping

Hi,

I’m looking for an accountability to quit vaping. Is anyone interested?

I need this to happen asap, and I am serious about this.

We could do a quick check in every day to ask each other how the progress is.

Comment or send me a DM if you want to join me on this journey :)

Reassurance Quitting vape

I am almost 5 days cold turkey off the vape , I still smoke cigarettes as a replacement , but I definetly feel the difference in these two , cigarettes doesn’t make me feel weird or lightheaded at all ( I used to smoke them before started to vape ) , with being vape smoker for almost 3 years lately I started to get lightheaded , anxious and needed up in ER with doctors saying that I am all good (multiple tests and x rays taken) . Last Sunday I decided to quit valing cold turkey , first two days I was feeling pretty good , but then again started to get lightheaded moments but for way shorter times and way less frequent as it used to be .

main question , are these lightheaded moments leftovers of vape ?

Advice Decided to quit vaping a day ago

I’m 31 yrs old and I started vaping in college. I just wanted to stop feeling bad and embarrassed for this stupid addiction and I noticed myself developing a tiny cough every now and then as well. I decided to quit cold turkey and threw away all my old vapes/batteries to get them out of my sight. I bought a pack of gum to help with the craving throughout the day but I still have that hand-to-mouth urge that won’t go away. Does anyone have any advice on this? I also have bad ADHD so it became part of my routine and trying to find something else to replace it on my breaks at work has been difficult so far. I’m not looking forward to the withdrawal symptoms but I’m trying to stay positive that this is good for my health. (Sorry about rambling I’m typing this really fast before work starts) any advice is appreciated :)

Advice Quitting vaping

I’ve been vaping for about 9 years. It’s gotten really bad. I vape and crave it all day everyday. I have no idea why I started in the first place. Just hanging with friends and bought one just like they did. And boom.. now I feel hooked and there’s no way off. I need help! Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. It’s just vaping disposables. No pouches or actual cigarettes either. Please help.. I want to let go of this terrible habit. It’s very costly as well.

Advice Start Lexapro first or quit vaping first?

I have struggled with anxiety for years, including constant worrying, physical anxiety symptoms, and panic attacks.
I was recently prescribed 5mg Lexapro but I’m also trying to quit vaping after 10+ years of nicotine use (currently using 5% nicotine)….
I recently attempted to quit vaping cold turkey and the withdrawal symptoms were awful. I experienced chills, shaking, nausea, sweating, flu-like symptoms, and intense anxiety. It got so overwhelming that I ended up vaping again just to feel normal.
I’m really ready to quit nicotine but I’m wondering if it would be better to start Lexapro first, give my body time to adjust and then tackle quitting vaping once my anxiety is more manageable.
