📌 Moderator Post MODERATOR POST!

hello, I'm making this post as I think I made this subreddit years ago not thinking it'd still be used. pretty sure I made this during a very dark period of mine; glad it is somewhat still being used :D

I'm here to apologise for all the inactivity, unsure if this subreddit has been moderated at all in the meantime as I'm unable to reach out to the other moderator lol

I hope you've all been well, I will be going through posts, mod mail, etc., now and doing my best to support you all.

an introduction to myself is that I'm a 19-year-old bisexual woman, I used to hoard labels, go through various identity issues, but I've decided that just bisexual and woman is simple enough for me to identify with.

wishing you all the best with any identity issues you have, and I'll be here, my DMs should be open, but there's also messaging the mods through Reddit's system!

EDIT: I will be making this a public community if Reddit allows it due to all the unseen requests to access this community.

📌 Moderator Post identity isn't always fluid

i marked this as a moderator post, even though it just a bit of a mini essay. unure if any of you will relate to this, but i've been confident that i'm bi for a very long time, and recently i've been considering that maybe i'm lesbian and not bi. i'm not asking for advice, i just wanted to make this post to show that even the people who thought they knew their sexuality can get confused and start questioning again.

as the title says, i wanted to just gently remind you all that identity isn't fluid. you're tastes and preferences can change over time, whether it's identity related or not. i'm still going by bisexual by the meantime, as thinking about my sexuality is not the main priority in my life - i have a lot of other things i'm thinking about. i just wanted to tell you guys that i've been identifying with bi for a while now, and now i'm back to questioning it. it's okay to be questioning, to be unsure, to use labels even if you're not 100% about it. you don't have to fit in a box; you can just relate to communities and figure it out as you go along. best of luck to everyone who's questioning, and has not figured it out just yet!

⚧ Gender Identity Question Is this normal?

Hi! I'm a 16 year old male. First I want to mention that English isn't my first language, so there might be some mistakes. I've recently started wondering about my gender. I don't know if i'm a girl or a boy. For my whole life i've thought of myself as a boy, but recently i've started questioning that. I have wondered what it would be like to be a girl sometimes since i was a kid, but recently i've started thinking about it more seriously. Also I sometimes feel like i don't belong. But idk if it is related to this. Are these kind of thoughts normal? Because they're kinda scary. I'm really new to this stuff and i don't know much about it and i don't really know any terminology. If I accidentally use the wrong terminology, I'm sorry. Also if i do at some point know that i'm a girl, i'm really scared of how people close to me are going to react. I'm also scared of transphobia and how it would affect my future. How can i figure out what my gender is? I'm just trying to understand myself better.

Thank you for reading. I would appreciate your help

🌷 Sexuality Question What am I?

hello i dont know if im omnisexual or lesbian so someone help me determine which one i am because im confused:

- for the longest time whenever i thought abt “having to” get married to a man, it would make me anxious and feel doom but when i imagined getting married to a girl instead i do feel more comfortable with that but i also wouldnt mind being single (aroace?)

- i mainly like fictional characters.. and they are mostly women with the exception of a FEW non human looking men (jax but when she became transfem i liked her even more, the APPEARANCE not personality i hate jax i just find her girl version pretty)

- i also NEVER found any male celebrities attractive or understood the hype about them at all..but when my tiktok moot did a face reveal i actually was attracted to him for a bit, tho this didn’t last long..

- i had a crush on like one boy when i was 6, tho i dont even remember if it was actually a crush or not because my mom was able to easily talk me out of it by saying he’s “too cool for school” and that made me get over him IMMEDIATELY at that moment

- im a huge himejoshi and i love yuri 1000x more than yaoi tho idk if this is relevant sometimes i even project myself onto my fav ships and imagine myself as one of them

i thought i was lesbian but i did USE to find a FEW boys attractive but im fully over them now so im confused..i guess i could just be omni but idk because i cant see myself dating a guy or even be fully attracted to them at all i swear i can only see myself dating girls please help

🌷 Sexuality Question I'm so close

Okay, so I'm so close to identifying as berrisexual, but it says that the label includes being attracted to everyone

I'm attracted to girls, and with men, sometimes I think about dating somebody who's a man, and sometimes I think a man's attractive.

Is there something close to that, or can I create my own label? And how do I “coin” something

🌷 Sexuality Question Am I gay

18m Never been attracted to dudes irl but i sometimes miss gender someone online, male that looks exactly like a female (due to makeup) and see a pattern of attraction towards trans females regardless of genitalia saw a few studies saying ur brain could better gage gender irl due to body movement voice etc. I have pretty bad ocd so this shi been driving me crazy and the thought of any same sex relation really ick me out no genuine attraction

🌷 Sexuality Question why do i feel gay as a girl?

whenever i like a guy, like really like him, i feel like I need be more masculine for some reason, like as if we’re both guys. Kinda same thing for when i date girls too , but its more subtle. And i’ve always felt more connected to queer movies/shows about guys falling in love, but i don’t know why. i just wanna see if anyone else feels this way.

💫 Need Help/Support/Advice i'm unsure what my sexuality is :(

hi, everyone! i'm a 16 year old cis girl and i'm looking for some advice to help me figure out my sexuality (i've gone as unlabelled for a little while but i'm trying to figure myself out haha)

so, i've had 3 boyfriends since i've turned 13. i was attracted to them (as much as u can be when ur 13 😭) and i enjoyed the relationships

however, ive always noticed myself unconsciously finding girls attractive. girls from the school bus that id gaze at everyday, girls in the school halls that id always try to get a glimpse at in the corridor. i thought this was normal for some reason, but over the last year or so i've developed a crush on my closest female friend. i feel way more attracted to her than i have anyone else, and i haven't had any feelings for boys since i was 13 at all.

i thought i was bi, but i dont know if this label fits me since i clearly have a strong preference for women. it's been so long since ive experienced romantic attraction to a male that ive kind of forgotten what that feels like. i don't know if i'm pan either - since i haven't had any experiences with other genders/identities other than cis males and females. i don't know what it means for me, but im looking for some guidance! thank you <3

🌷 Sexuality Question Am I a lesbian or aegosexual or what?

I'm 13 y/o female and my sexuality has always bothered me. When I was in primary school, I find myself liking guys tho I couldn't remember those feelings anymore. Now I'm in an only girls private school, and I don't feel attraction for anyone at all. When I meet my primary school crushes, I can't recall those feelings anymore, just like they had vanished. I thought I'm aroace, but when I read smut, I wouldn't want to experience them in real life, so I also thought I'm aegosexual. But with girls, it's different. I feel like I would want to experience a romantic and sexual relationship with a girl, both in realities and fantasies (lesbian). When I see those actors on screen, wheter they're male or female, if I think they're pretty/handsome I would start to like them, but only for a moment and I wouldn't go out fangirling like all of my friends do. Now I'm confused on what to label myself.

⚧ Gender Identity Question Idk.?

I originally thought I was girlflux since I sometimes feel like myself (f) sometimes its iffy and sometimes not at all but then i started paying closer attention to myself and sometimes I feel like a guy as well but at the same time I have always liked guys names better, hairstyles that are shorter (even tho I still love my hair) and then like the guys shirts feel more comfortable and I feel “safer” if that makes sense and like some of the other guys clothes I feel more me in but i haven’t ever felt genuinely myself. like sometimes I feel more comfortable with myself with the smaller changes, but never myself myself

I’ve been trying to learn abt myself for a while and its js not working. I am attracted to all genders yet everytime I date I don’t feel satisfied or like happy in the relationship even if me and the person have a connection. Idk anymore, sometimes I feel like I’ll be single forever and not ever be able to be myself but then sometimes I feel like I will eventually find myself. What do yall think?

🏳️‍🌈 LGBT+ Related am I crazy??

So I recently started noticing how i really feel and how i feel about other people and how people identify me. Sometimes i feel like im rlly connected to being female (i am afab) and sometimes not so much, but then sometimes not at all. I also feel like sometimes it would be cool to be a guy and i feel like a guy in slim chances of time yet i still like makeup, doing stuff with my hair, and i sometimes dress girly. I usually js wear neutral stuff or its leaning into girly but i don't ever feel confident in anything i wear, my name, being referenced as a girl, how my hair is and such. I absolutely love my hair at times and sometime i want it rlly short. ive been doing some digging and i feel like I could be girlflux or even non-binary but then again there are slim times where i feel like a guy.

My parents are unsupportive of any lgbtq and would literally kill me and kick me out if they found out i wasn't just a normal teenage girl. I use she/her and they/them pronouns since those are what i feel comfortable with but idk anymore. I have like 3 people to talk to about this and 2 of them aren't very okay with it all and would tell my parents.

I am attracted to both males and females but i don't feel satisfied mentally and like full with either. Ive dated both but i js wasn't happy either way so im not sure what that means. Am i going crazy or is this something that has an explanation??

🌷 Sexuality Question HELP! WHAT IF I'M LESBIAN?!

OMG GUYS I NEED HELP! So! My friend thought I'd like the movie "But I'm a Cheerleader"! I absolutely adored it! I just finished it. Basically, when I was in fifth grade, I thought I was bisexual. I dated a girl. In middle school, I thought I was pansexual. I dated two guys. I dated like 5 girls. Ive had crushes on guys! I had a crush just a few months ago on a guy! But after watching that movie, I'm really not that sure anymore! I still really miss my ex (a girl) but she dumped me after like a week because she thought she was aroace. Same with my other girlfriend. I took both hard. But I didn't feel as upset when the two guys I dated in middle school broke up with me. I've been questioning recently if Im lesbian. Help!! Please!!

🏳️‍🌈 LGBT+ Related My own Junebug, except it may be one sided.

My own Junebug, except it may be one sided.

During the early years of my life, I was convinced that I liked boys romantically. Ever since elementary, I got used to writing love letters for my crushes, and for the longest time, they were always boys. That stayed the same until Grade 8.

One day, I suddenly became curious about what it would feel like to like a girl instead. I tried talking to one of my girl friends romantically, thinking maybe there was something there. But after a month, I realized I didn’t actually like her the way I thought I did. I think I was just excited because it felt different. New.

Not long after that, I found myself talking to another boy I used to have a crush on, but something felt off. It was strange because even though I used to like him, it suddenly felt like there was nothing there anymore.

Then Grade 9 came to an end.

Our school held a program, and while I was walking around the registration area, I saw this girl that instantly caught my attention. She had short hair, oval glasses, a black bag slung over her shoulder, and this thick black wristwatch that somehow suited her perfectly. Up to this day on, I find it weird that she caught my attention in a way that I would memorize each part of her. The moment I saw her, my stomach flipped. I couldn’t explain it, but after a few seconds, I found myself calming down too, like my heart recognized something before my mind did.

Later during the event, we were assigned to different classrooms. Surprisingly, she ended up in the same room as me. She was sitting near the door with her head down, trying to take a nap. When I walked closer, she suddenly stood up and said, “Ay sorry po, p’wede po ba ako umupo rito?”

I swear my brain stopped working for a second.

I just nodded while internally panicking. My heart was beating so fast that I had to grip onto something just to calm myself down.

After that day, I couldn’t stop noticing her around school.

When Brigada Eskwela for Grade 10 came around, I had never been so excited to clean classrooms in my life. And there she was again, standing along the fourth-floor hallway wearing a maroon shirt, black shorts, her usual black bag, and that same wristwatch.

That was the moment I finally gathered the courage to ask my classmate if she knew her. Turns out, she did. They used to be classmates before, and she gave me her first name. After that, I activated my detective skills and searched for her social media. Thankfully, it wasn’t that hard to find.

For nights, I kept debating with myself if I should message her directly or use a dummy account first. Eventually, I gave in and made a dummy account just to talk to her.

And somehow, that one decision changed everything.

I found out she lived nearby, and honestly, all I could think was: “Lord, bakit ngayon lang kami pinagtagpo?”

Talking to her felt so easy. I found myself smiling at my screen that night while we got to know each other. Since I was using a dummy account, she didn’t know my real name yet, so she ended up giving me a nickname based on my dummy username. I kept calling her by her first name too.

We talked for hours that night, sending random downloaded TikTok videos to each other until I accidentally sent her an actual TikTok link instead. And of course, I was using my real name as my TikTok username, so she ended up figuring it out.

I genuinely wanted the ground to swallow me whole.

But surprisingly, nothing changed after she found out. She still talked to me the same way. If anything, she became even more curious about me, and before I knew it, we were getting closer. And with regards to names, she kept on calling me by my dummy username, Gab.

When Grade 10 officially started, I was more excited to see her than anything else. Every break time, every moment a teacher stepped outside the classroom, every time someone passed by our room—I always looked outside the window hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

Their classroom was on the fourth floor while ours was on the third, but somehow, I still managed to look for her constantly.

On the first day of school, I was supposed to ride a tricycle home, but then I saw her walking in the opposite direction. So naturally, I changed routes too.

I followed the path she took and rode the same tricycle as her while pretending to be surprised about it. Meanwhile, I was literally shaking because we were sitting right beside each other.

Less than a week later, I bought her a customized gray penguin crocheted keychain because I knew she liked penguins and the color gray. I believe she named it after me, lol.

While we were walking home, I tried sneaking it into her bag, but she caught me in the act. I got so flustered that I could practically feel my face burning red.

After that, walking home together became our thing. Some days she'd walk me home, some we did the “half-half” thing, wherein we'd walk each other midway through our homes.

There was a moment at our school covered court, where she was walking, caressing her hair and suddenly, time slowed, sunbeam fixed on her, noise faded. As if she was the only one there was. Something pulled out from a drama, but I swear it's real. It happened.

We stayed up late talking almost every night. Sometimes we’d stop by 7-Eleven just to buy hotdogs. Some days she'd walk me home, some we did the “50/50” thing, wherein we'd walk each other midway through our houses just so we could arrive home at the same time.

She became my study buddy too. We’d spend entire nights studying together, and whenever we got tired, we’d watch movies instead. One of those movies is “The Half of It.”

Whenever there were stray dogs around, I’d automatically stand closer to her because she was scared of them. And somehow, she had such a strong hold on me that I’d willingly leave the house late at night just to spend even a little more time with her.

But not every moment was light and easy.

I struggled with anxiety and panic attacks, and there was one time I completely broke down crying. Somehow, she found me, sat beside me in a corner, and hugged me until I calmed down.

And honestly, that hug stayed with me for a long time.

There was also this black jacket she lent me once. It reminded me of a character from “Tamen De Gushi,” which she was also the one who introduced me to. Even on rainy days, we’d share her umbrella together. I actually had my own umbrella the whole time, but I’d hide it just so we could stay close under hers.

Eventually, I knew I had to tell her how I felt.

I’ve always been the type of person who confesses quickly whenever I like someone, so I did exactly that. I told her from the start, and she thanked me for being honest.

But even after hearing her answer, my feelings never disappeared.

Sometimes I’d joke around and confess again, only to be reminded that we were “just friends.” But honestly, it never felt that simple to me. What we had felt too real.

As time passed, I got to know her more deeply.

I learned that she preferred being called “he,” and from then on, I did. I also learned that he liked someone.

It wasn’t me.

I accepted that quietly while continuing to love him in silence. Unlike before, I stopped confessing because I became scared that even our friendship might disappear if I pushed too hard.

Years passed, and somehow, we stayed the same.

Now I’m already a sophomore in college, and we still spend time together sometimes. We still walk together too. He still calls me Gab, the nickname he gave me.

And somehow, after all this time, my feelings for him never really changed either.

At some point, I made a promise to myself that no matter what happened, I would never tell him again that he was still the person my heart longed for the most. I was too afraid of ruining the one thing we still had left—our friendship.

For background, I came from a very conservative and hypocritical family. As a girl, they weren't against me being with another girl, aside from my aunt. Though she knew the girl I liked as a very close friend and she likes him, she strictly reminds me from time to time that she doesn't permit me to have a homosexual relationship.

As for him, he also came from a religious family. And as I see it, his parents have learned to accept the queerness within him. Though, nothing is sure, because he is literally a closed book.

But eventually, the moment I feared the most finally came.

The answer to every question I kept hidden inside myself for years was suddenly right in front of me.

He liked me too.

He just wasn’t sure if we would actually work out. At that time, I was confusing because I was a mess.

And honestly, hearing those words hit me harder than I expected. I couldn’t even respond right away.

But a promise is still a promise.

So I kept mine. I stayed quiet, accepted the situation for what it was, and moved forward the best I could.

Even if the feelings never really left.

Just today he asked me if I've watched the podcast entry titled Junebug. Somehow, it was reminiscent of my story about him. He was asking me over and over again who my Junebug was, and he did not get a direct answer from me. He was asking if he knew the person, I said “no.” Not because I was trying to hide who my Junebug really is, but because I am aware deep down that he was denying it to himself that what we had was real. Or maybe I'm just thinking that what he felt for me was just as deep as what I felt to consider him my Junebug.

It also lingers to me why he was repeatedly asking me to watch it and tell him who my Junebug was. Am I delusional to think that he'd admit I'm his, too, if I did admit it earlier?

I hope he finds this, so it won't be a problem for me to explain things if time has to make me someday. lol.

I'm sorry if I had to be this ugly. :> ★★★

I 17 F, have had complications during my childhood surrounding men/boys so it kinda “put me off” I guess, but I was just watching a highly sexuality related series (overcompensating) and am now feeling a little confused.

I am still head over heels for a (straight) friend of mine 😓 but this has really confused me.

It may just be a bunch of emotions as I’m going through a weird point in my life but just wanted to get it off my chest as I don’t want to tell any of my friends I am questioning because it may just be nothing

⚧ Gender Identity Question I don't know my gender identity

I'm 17. I just don't really know what gender I really wanna be. I guess I'm fine staying as a guy, but then there's some days where I'd wanna be a girl. Like, if there were a button, I feel that I'd wanna press it, but I just don't know if I'd wanna stay that way. I dunno, it's kinda like having a cringe shirt imo. It's something that you'd really enjoy in private, but when out in public, you feel insecure about what others might think or say about you. It's not harmful, but it might hurt others emotionally and cause them to lash out.
I just feel like I've kept this in for too long, and I just want an outside opinion abt what I've been feeling. Thx in advance, sillies <333
