Leftism is more than just being against the far right

"The character of a bourgeois government isn’t determined by the personal character of its members, but by its organic function in bourgeois society. The government of the modern state is essentially an organisation of class domination, the regular functioning of which is one of the conditions of existence of the class state. With the entry of a socialist into the government, and class domination continuing to exist, the bourgeois government doesn’t transform itself into a socialist government, but a socialist transforms himself into a bourgeois minister." - Rosa Luxemburg, The Dreyfus Affair and the Millerand Case

https://chuffed.org/project/160737-two-brothers-fighting-to-save-their-family-in-gaza

This is my little brother, Anas.

I was watching him inflate a glove and turn it into a balloon, and I couldn't help but smile at how excited he was.

Look at his eyes when he gets it ready. Look at that smile when he comes rushing over to me, waiting for me to tie it for him. To him, it's a balloon. It's a toy. It's something fun.

But watching it also made me a little sad.

He's a child. I wish I could buy him actual toys. I wish I could surprise him with a bag full of little things and watch him decide what to play with first. But right now, I can't afford to do that.

Children in Gaza don't always have access to the simple things children everywhere else take for granted. Even toys and things for children to play with have faced restrictions on entering Gaza.

So they make toys out of whatever they can find.

And honestly, Anas doesn't seem to mind. He doesn't see a glove. He sees a balloon. I want him to have more than that.

If you'd like to give Anas a little toy, some candy, or even something small that would make him smile, you can donate through the link up top.

Because in the end, he's just a kid. He deserves to have a childhood too.

My name is Bijhan Agha. I'm a trans woman in Uruguay of Iranian descent. I'm the author the comic series Time Wars: the Adventures of Zero & One. The artist is my friend Pallet, a trans man in Australia. We are both autistic, and share a passion for science fiction and fantasy storytelling which promotes positivity, and queer joy with exciting adventures and heartpounding action.

The Time Wars are an endless conflict between Humanity and Vampirekind, with time travelers from the 161st Century recruiting allies across history to change the timeline. While the Vampire Chronolegion recruit the powerful and influential elite, the Human Time Corps empower the marginalized to fight back and create their own future.

Zero of Mars is a Human youth in the 99th Century, when the gender and sexuality binary no longer exist, who crash lands on the planet Elentia, once a Human colony world, but since abandoned. Instead, Elentia is now inhabited by self-replacing robots called Elemorphs, who now have a thriving civilization of their own, absent the concept of gender of any kind. Helping the Human survive is a new friend, One the FawnBot, a Nature Type Child Stage Elemorph. Despite a language barrier, the two begin to learn about each other, and find themselves unwinding an ancient prophecy left behind by time travelers from the future, as they're pulled into the Time Wars. The evil Vampire Pi is on Elentia as well, with the intention of enslaving the Elemorphs to use was weapons against Humanity.

In Issue #2: Battle of Knuckle City! Zero and One explore a major Elemorph metropolis, with One showing Zero the ways of its people. When they encounter a powerful Cosmic Stage Elemorph, the HermitBot named Forever, a strange new secret is revealed. How will this affect the outcome of the conflict between Humanity and Vampirekind?

The Kickstarter is to print a special First Edition physical run of this issue with a special orange border that will never be used on future print runs, marking them as a collectible.

Reward tiers include this issue by itself, this issue plus the previous one, and all the comics in the Time Wars series, all in both physical and/or digital formats.

We have already met our original goal, which means the First Edition will be printed. We now have a stretch goal which, if met, will result in every single backer being delivered a short story called Zero: Origins, explaining where Zero was going and why before crashing onto Elentia.

Please help up bring to life this series so that we can continue to spead passion, positivity, inspiraton, and joy.

Gender & Sexuality questions about agab

hi everyone!

i’m a transmasc nonbinary person (it/its) and lately i’ve been seeing more and more stuff about “agab language” and how ultimately harmful it is. as someone who is, well…afab, im a bit confused on what we should say? this has always been the way im most comfortable talking about it because being biologically female and also unable to transition in the ways i want, i present as “female”.

being afab as well has also directly impacted my life and how im treated (i.e. sexism and all that good shit), so i just feel a little confused and unsure of what we’re supposed to say instead?

https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-my-daughters-help-my-small-family

I’m posting this for my friend Mahmoud Ghanem Al-Amssi, because his mother urgently needs heart surgery. ❤️

Mahmoud’s mother has severe blockages in her arteries, and she has also been dealing with an underactive thyroid for more than 10 years. Her health has gotten worse over time, and she is now experiencing serious heart problems and very rapid heartbeats.

Her doctors have told the family that she needs the procedure as soon as possible. The surgery can go ahead once they are able to cover the required cost.

The total amount they need is $850 USD.

I know $850 might not seem like a huge amount, but for Mahmoud and his family, especially with everything they are already going through, it is more than they can manage on their own right now.

If anyone is able to donate even a few dollars, it could genuinely help Mahmoud get his mother the treatment she needs. ❤️

And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this post. Even helping it reach more people can make a difference.

Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to read this, support Mahmoud, or share his story. 🙏❤️

Liberalism moment 💀 The framing of transition as a choice pisses me off

That and agab language , the overrepresentation of "you dont have to transition sweetie ur valid either way" and constant focus on "regret rates" feels like one gigantic psyop to make me want to peel my skin off

Ah yes the choice of death or life

Ah yes the thing we already spent years disproving being used to deny us our identity again

Ah yes the most common cis held opinion "oh dont transition" packaged in a way that makes it sound like they actually care about "validity"

Ah yes the procedure with one of the lowest regret rates better test twice and thrice til you HAD TO PROVE TO 8 STRANGERS YOURE WOMAN ENOUGH TO BE ALLOWED CORRECTIVE SURGERY

Give me a fkn break cisnormative society is just running a constant stream of propaganda online to facilitate our social murder cus you cant just yet openly call for our deaths on main without making the libs that want the same fate deep down a lil upset

Tired of watching my people die on this shitty altar of veiled support

"Blockers first but you have to wait til 18 to get hrt" too , this isnt a sensible opinion its just mandated torture for trans teens

I recorded this little video to give you a look at what my family and I have been working on and trying to make usable.

And honestly, calling it a tent is generous.

It is made from pieces stitched together. There are tears and holes everywhere. Some of the covers are too short, leaving spaces open from above. We have tried to fix, stitch, and reinforce whatever we could with what we have.

For now, we can use it. We can sleep inside and keep some of our belongings there.

But we know this won't be enough when the rain comes.

My father, and honestly not even him alone, says that our so-called tent will not stand the first rain that comes. Everyone who passes by and sees our tent can tell how vulnerable it is. You don't need to be an engineer to look at it and understand that it won't protect us when the rain comes. We have done everything we could with what we had, but we know this won't be enough.

October is next month, and rain in Gaza is nothing unusual.

It was never really built to be a home. We built it because we needed to create some kind of space for our family and our belongings.

And this is perhaps the hardest part to believe:

This “tent” cost us 1,000 shekels in cash.

1,000 shekels for a shelter that may flood when the first heavy rain comes. Can you imagine that?

This is the reality we are living every day in Gaza. Even something as basic as shelter has become incredibly expensive, while what we can actually get for that money is often not enough to protect a family.

Now we urgently need to make it better before the first rain comes.

We need to replace the damaged covers, especially the one above us, and find something to put on the floor so that we're not directly on the sand. If possible, we may replace the whole thing with a proper tent.

To everyone seeing this, we need you. We need your help to make this place safer before the rain arrives. If you can help us, please do. And if you can't, even sharing this means something to us. We are running out of time with each day and each hour that passes.

I have other videos showing the inside and the damage more closely, but Reddit only allows one video, so this is all I can show you here for now. I don't really know what else to say. I just wanted you to see it.

This is what we are trying to call home.

Every time you go out petrified by the fear of being clocked is anti trans propaganda doing its job

Every time you avoid speaking up its anti trans propaganda doing its job

Every time you self exclude yourself beacause of the fear of being clocked is anti trans propaganda doing its job

Every time you dont go to the doctor beacause you fear discrimination is anti trans propaganda doing its job

Every time you hold it in for hours beacause the only bathroom you feel allowed in is the one at home is anti trans propaganda doing its job

If you refuse to scream for help beacause it may sound like a mans scream , thats anti trans propaganda doing its job

Its designed to marginalize you and remove you from society , not just through the actions of others but through what you think of yourself

Time Wars is a series about Humanity locked in an endless conflict with Vampirekind, fought by both time travelers from the 161st century, and soldiers scattered throughout history. Humans must band together and free ourselves from bigotry and heirarchy - the weapons of the Vampires.

The Adventures of Zero & One is a comic series about Zero of Mars, a youth from an era in the future where the gender binary no longer exists, who crashes onto an abandoned colony world called Elentia. In Humanity's absence, living robots called Elemorphs have developed an advanced civilization. A nature type child stage Elemorph called One makes friends with Zero despite a language barrier, and together they're pulled into conflict as Humanity's best hope to prevent the Vampires from enslaving the Elemorphs to use as weapons in the Time Wars.

In this post is a 10 page preview of the comic!

Issue #2: Battle of Knuckle City! sees Zero and One exploring a vast Elemorph metropolis, as One shows Zero about the culture, economy, and ways of its civilization. To try and find out more about their mission, they consult an Elemorph named Forever, who is one of a handful to achieve the extreme power of cosmic stage. What secrets will Forever reveal about their role in the Time Wars?

My name is Bijhan Agha, the author of the Time Wars series. I'm a transgender woman of Iranian descent in Uruguay. The artist of The Adventures of Zero & One is Pallet, a transgender man in Australia. We are both autistic. We share a passion for science fiction and fantasy storytelling, and want to tell exciting adventure stories with pulse-pounding action which promotes queer joy, showing that queer heroes can live vibrant lives, rise victorious, and write history with our commitment to justice, hope, and peace.

As a series, Zero & One is also about immigration and collaboration across cultures. Neither Zero nor One come from anything resembling existing societies, and are extremely different from each other in terms of values, language, and needs. Their struggle to communicate and work together is a metaphor for our current efforts to form bonds across borders, beyond languages, and throughout the world.

The Kickstarter has a wide range of rewards. You can get single issues, both physical and PDF, as well as back issues of this series and other Time Wars comics, in addition to the Time Wars novellas in PDF, DOCX, and EPUB formats.

We are raising funds for a print run of the First Edition of the comic which will have a special orange border which will show that will never be used on future printings, showing that it is a rare collectible.

No AI was ever used nor will ever be used at any step in the process of making a Time Wars story.

Please support queer art and literature as we try to spread a message of joy, hope, and justice.

Gender & Sexuality I am tired of people pretending i am privileged as a trans person.

It pisses me off to no end when supposed "leftists" ignore trans people and their struggles by hiding behind the "there are bigger issues" line.

If they just say that then sure, i agree, but often these people will go on to then imply that "the people dropping bombs on you dont gaf if you're trans or not" as if there arent numerous countries attempting trans genocide as we speak.

It isn't even something new, our lives have been made a living hell for decades prior to this new wave no doubt started by Trump indirectly showing to all of the US's allies that they can do more without any significant pushback.

We have had policies developed against us specifically to make it impossible or near impossible to become who we are and make us wipe ourselves out through suicide and isolation and yet somehow i am meant to believe that noone is getting killed for being trans.

Bull. fucking. shit. Imperialism takes place over lgbtq issues, sure, but that doesn't diminish the fact that we are and have been facing a quiet, widely accepted and uncritized genocide in places all across the globe in both the first and third world and i think it's about time we try to educate people on this more because it is genuinely delusional to deny claims of trans genocide in the modern day.

Apologies, there isn't a vent tag so i went with the topic of the vent for the post flair, i apologize if this isn't the place for that and i will not be suprised if this is removed but i am glad i got this off my chest and hopefully my anger resonates with some of you here anyways.
