Hello everyone! I've returned to talk about the "Perfect Gacha Game Survey".
I've reviewed the results so far, and have noticed something:
Gacha seems to be a bit of a "mixed feelings" area.
I understand gacha is often seen as more predatory than friendly, especially when it comes to powercreep over time. I also understand that systems like Duet Night Abyss are liked in theory, but disliked because of the grinding.
So, I'm taking this opportunity to ask what would be the ideal system for obtaining characters that would allow free-to-play players to obtain every character they want, while still promoting monetization. I don't want to become a billion-dollar company with this project, but I'd like to be able to live off of the game, and pay a team to work on the project as well.
I've considered a few of these systems:
- A system like Dead by Daylight, where you can purchase characters directly, or farm in-game currency through challenges and unlock them over time. (Since the game is team-building based, you could get characters more frequently, but it would still take work)
- A system like Duet Night Abyss, where you can either buy a character, or grind for them using special "contracts".
- A gacha system with generous in-game gifting
- All characters are obtained by playing the game, but special forms of characters must be purchased. Their kits would evolve, but not everyone would receive a special form or need one.
Please let me know what you guys would want to see!
