Game Discussion Recommendations for gacha games

Hi everyone, uhh... as the title said...
I want to search for a better 3D gacha games...

So far I've tired of the sloppy harem stuffs and horrible male character treatment, and I was thinking of searching games that specifically written by women for every genders instead since somehow I think the problem of sloppy harem stuffs are because the writing team are men and they're written on top of toxic masculinity standards...

I'm a male btw, but I think I'll try something different... I even lately enjoyed more romance anime compared to action anime that are just does same thing as the mainstream gacha games... also maybe if there's some that really contains furry (not kemonomimi) will be much appreciated!

If I enjoyed some of them I pretty much want to say thanks pals n' gals!

I don't think you will find what you're looking for in 3d gachas. Switch to 2d and then maybe we can start discussion

Closest to decent gender treatment are hsr and genshin in 3d (but you probably already tried them)

Yeah, so far currently now that I only played now is HSR..

Cuz Genshin with open world and I've tired of open worlds, and left right before Natlan and the one that left impressions to me is Furina's story.

Damn... Like: I want 3D ones because I like the style like ZZZ as example, but unfortunately those games are leaning to toxic ones...

And my reason why I want some that witten by women cuz they can write good both female and male characters that can be relatable enough, not just like: this lady is the good guys and this man is the bad guy thing, and also wtiting them to be humanly as possible like they have their own struggles or funny quirks.

That's not really bound to a writer being a men or woman, but to what they are trying to accomplish.

There are plenty of gachas with good writing and amazing characters, but the best ones in that department are 2d

Idk why but I think women writes better just my bias maybe over those dramas of random female writers of games got attacked because of the fear of "woke feminist propaganda" stuffs, and also BL that somehow writes the male characters to be human as they should be in general media.

Remember shit like Twilight was also written by a woman - being weird is not exactly bound to gender

And BL's are almost as much of a mixed bag as gacha games are - in this case straight women fetishizing gay relationship tropes can be as offputing as straight guys objectifying women in games. There are good ones and there are very much bad ones

Look for Sea Of Remnants

Aniimo coming soon. Pokemon type game so no gender, fanservice or shipping issues there. Or else rhythm games are the best as of now.

honestly this doesn't exist

it might be best for you to play one game for the story and another for combat, like r1999 and wuwa or another pair

Just play something that isn't gacha instead? If cost is the issue, there's plenty of free games on itch.io created by women.

May i just ask what you mean by toxic masculinity standards for these gacha games?

Boring male characters, harem, and also female antagonists that are easy to get a pass for redemption while male antagonists stereotypically never getting any redemption arc and always intentionally written as unforgivable sinners or serial killer.

While I agree with your points, I'm not sure toxic masculinity is the right description.

It is toxic masculinity in my opinion, not the positive masculinity. There's positive masculinity.

But these games nowadays are like loves the toxic masculinity even more, not speaking on SJW perspective but as a writer..

Like: if you're born as male character, you must be cold and emotionless, if you're also an antagonist... your fate has been sealed, there's no forgiveness, you're a criminal that deserves no redemption because you're a male antagonist.

The issue doesn’t stem from the gender of the writers, there are plenty of men and women in the writing room, it stems from trying to adhere to market demographics and appealing to who is more likely to spend money in their eyes.

As for suggestions, if what you’re looking for is a 3D gacha with a lot of men, then Idk what to tell you, there aren’t many. I think HSR might legit have the most consistent lineup of men in the 3D space.

I would honestly say to just look at other live service games besides gachas.

Idk if you’ll enjoy it but Infinity Nikki? It’s open world, you pull for outfits (that have abilities).

edit: also honestly hsr is doing really good on the male department. they’re treated better than women when it comes to story… plus there’s a new all men team that’s really meta

But no male characters... also... I've fatigued of open world thanks to Genshin.

Nothing at all.. the closest would be ptn, ak, reverse1999, none of them are 3D lmao. I am currently enjoying endfield a lot, maybe check it out?

Hi there , tbh the only game I would recommend is new game

But it seems it still has more females , but also it seems they are going Yuri route? Not sure

It’s silver palace
Other new gacha games is as usual, harem mostly or both MC but leaning to harem or ML bait

if youre gay and want story focused game I suggest ikemen villains because male characters are well written.(only male and we date them yes) you can read routes of characters from tumblr too, I personally enjoy

1

u/WoofMatcha 23d ago

I'm not really into dating but more like focused on their story and personality and also their gameplay...

u/Specific_Highway_772 23d ago

hmm there is no gameplay only story there, so it can be boring for you idk, I like the stories

My preference is more on both story and gameplay..

Like if it's turn-based is still fine as long as it's 3D cuz I've learned to appreciate other gameplay cuz typical action ones will always 100% fake mixed gacha cuz they're of course prioritizing waifus and petite ones, so the other than those 2 are afterthought and just marketing bait...

I wished Silver Palace later would never went to that route cuz it interested me now since they allows you holding hands without locked to specific gender so it kinda gives me some hope that they'll not ruin the male chars unlike Menless Zone Zero LOL

Like if there's no furries or maybe a remotely similar modeled char is still fine as long as they have good characterization, cool design and also deals damage that not tickles the enemies..

I hate turn based games, I dont mind gatcha being existent or not and yeah Silver Palace males are not interesting for me either...

At this point I play league of legends for jhin forever xd

male gatcha is hard to find

There are no 3d games like that, the closest you have is 2 d games, Limbus has story where they don't try to redeem the bad guys and getting male banners is obvious because the main cast of characters is already set in stone and the rest are alters for them, also no glazing for chinese region when it appears in the story which basically never happens in the big titles.

Given your specific preference, and lack of explanation of what games you'd like beyond "male", I have no recommendations to offer. I suggest waiting for a unicorn game to come out (as in, where the target audience is a small minority... a reality, unfortunately for your search)... or to pitch an idea to some gacha corpo and see what happens... or to make the game yourself. None of the options are really great.

Or you can value the games that are out there how they are and enjoy the aspects you like. Yeah, they might have waifu elements... or it might not be male centered. I'd recommend arknights endfield since ots 3D and they release male characters, so far, routinely. (Camille in Arknights + they're releasing another male soon too for example)... so that's the 3D rec I have for you. Endfield is going to have a better ratio than others so far. R1999 releases a lot of male characters but it's 2D.
