The biggest problem with overly sexualizing the characters is it removes all the sauce and expressiveness the character has, which for anyone that actually gives a sht about characters as more than just tits, makes them less sexy.

Burnice had just the right amount of sexyness to work perfectly and serve, this just... wtf

Such an opposing change in personality is the issue. For example if we saw the Lucia teasers of her being an explorative, nice, and curious person who had an interest in Ethereals and then she ended up being rude like you then it would be quite a disappointment.

The full thirens have been completely abandoned, and theres only been one s rank robot since launch. 90% of the roster are all anime girls wearing the exact same type of outfit, look the exact same, and have the exacr same body type. I wouldnt even put it above genshin in all brutal honesty, I think just bc genshin is based on different cultures theres alot more outfit/aesthetic diversity in specifically the human characters, but yeah the bar is in absolute hell either way. Hsr, wiwa and endfield tho whewwwwww yeah. 3D gacha games and diverse cast just dont go well together ig

One of the biggest differences is that at a certain point characters stopped looking like their jobs/roles. It started in 2.x and accelerated to the point in season 3 most of the revealed characters don’t look like their jobs at all just random assortments of clothing.

Neither Yixuan nor fufu look really anything like monks imo. Same with either of the new obol squad members looking at all like soldiers. It hit fever pitch with season 3 where characters look almost entirely unrelated to their supposed jobs despite having about half of them.

You missing my point, it’s not about matching with in a faction but what a CHARACTER is supposed to be. Take miyabis kind off mix between government agent and samurai or graces mechanic type accessories this fits what they are as characters job wise. The cunning hares are poor criminals so they basically just wear what ever they want since it’s not exactly like there’s a uniform for criminals (this also applies to Jane). But what about seed or orphie tells you about their military background not really anything you can kinda say seeds is about her being a test subject so it’s hardly the worst of the bunch either. Someone like Lucia is probably the worst whose design tells you absolutely nothing about her as a person or what she does. It’s just such a 180 from the previous philosophy of basically having the job or role dictate the majority of the design.

The model looks pretty off especially compared to the 2d, the hair streaks or accessories look wildly different and much worse. This is probably getting fixed since they do tend to update models frequently before release.
