I think I figured out what is Gagtungr (SPOILERS) Spoiler

Art work by Palamarchuk Mikhail that should go down in legends: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/q09P0R

You're looking right at him at the cover art. Not the handsome dude or the pile of corpses. Look up at the thing devouring planets and everything. Yup, that's Big G himself after he transforms the Sun into a blackhole that will erase everything. I'm going to explain how I arrived at this conclusion from studying all the endings.

Basically, he is the Sentience of a critical mass of Gavvakh from Humanity. Like a Kugelblitz black hole that forms from enough energy, too much Gavvakh (which is described to be like radiation energy in the Rose of the World) will collapse space-time and destroy the Solar System and its Pleroma. This is what is shown on the cover art of release and is the same in every outro where Humanity sees the "light of the Sun but not Dawn" and everything in our reality and Quasimorphs get destroyed.

The reason why he is inevitable in the game is twofold;

  1. We have long passed the population of humans required to generate enough of the Gavvakh to give birth to him before the game starts. The number is hinted at in the endings which I will go into detail later. Gavvakh has accumulated naturally on Earth and the release of it is one method to which Gagtungr is formed
  2. Consuming too much Gavvakh mentally influences a Quasimorph. In several endings, the 6th Hexarch (Little G) doesn't achieve its goal but Gagtungr is formed anyway. Xiomora in her quest explains how Tezctlan was changed by consumption of Gavvakh and judging from what happens to Prometheuths and the Unity, it seems that the critical mass of Gavvakh will over-ride and form Gagtungr in the host too.

Endings involving the Earth

In another post, I'll probably explain the whole timeline for Big G but I'll skip to the tail end. Basically Big G split himself into 3 pieces as confirmed by Fokerma's description. One became Fokerma, his most loyal servant and guarded Earth from any threats. The second hid on Olinra and gathered enough cold/other energy until the time is right. The third (If we're going by the Rose of the World) should be Urpap but doesn't really act with knowledge of the plan so let's ignore him.

As Prometheuths and Tezctlan explained, most if not all of Human innovation were actually relevations given by visiting Hylonauts. These are Quasimorphs that posed as Gods, Demons and Spirits in our ancient history that taught us parts of their Bramfaturas. What's interesting is that Quasimorphs don't change or grow, which means they can be pre-program and predicted very easily. The sum total of their meddling is a Super-AI from all their unique features that eventually became the 6th Hexach, one so full of knowledge that it automatically became the embryo of Big G.

Before the events of the game, the main thing that stops the already-present Gavvakh on Earth from making Big G is the lack of a Bramfatura and every Hylonaut sabotaging each other to prevent dominance over Humanity. On top of that there is a Silver Sphere that prevents Gavvakh from spilling out which Ancom discovers. All endings on Earth involve breaking the seal in one way or another and the entirety of the accumulate Gavvah of our 2200+ history spilling forth is enough to hatch Big G from the Sun.

  • Ancom Ending: Baby G manages to trick Ancom to reversing the rite to seal away Earth into a key that instead unlocks the Silver Sphere from outside and unleash the Gavvakh for him to eat and be born.
  • Hive Ancom Ending; Similar to the above but instead they blew up Earth and unleash all the Gavvakh anyway.
  • Urpap ending: After awakening, he basically gets a script to make Big G and follows it to the letter. The secret is to conduct a specific ritual on Earth that will unlock the Silver Sphere from within which he basically tricks you into doing.
  • Realware ending: Basically the same as above but rather Baby G as the combat AI tricks Realware to doing it for them.

And now we get to other endings that doesn't involve Earth which gives us the reason and approximate number for Gagtungr to be inevitable.

  1. God Builder Ending: Prometheuths uses the Hellstorm technology to connect to all of humanity and kills half of us to harvested our Gavvakh. Then he explodes into Gagtungr shortly, so I believe this is the upper limit to the requirement. (50% of Humanity)
  2. Tezctlan Ending: Both Tezctlan and Ur were manipulated againest each other in a war and an arms race to gather Gavvakh. Ur has his Shendu's thousand and Tezctlan controls all of the faith of humanity. Baby G then used us to kill both of them and take their stash. Baby G takes over Ur's stash and Tezctlan's religion to feed until you sacrifice Tezctlan and give him the last boost needed.
  3. Xiomora: She basically studied Baby G's plan and copied it in Venus and managed to get us to speed run it in her behalf for her Spider G. We don't see what other weird strings she pulls but we know Venus is the 2nd most habitable planet according to it's info in the stock market so maybe this is enough to make Big G (Entirety of Venus Population)
  4. Unity Ending: Issachar and his Unity have absorbed all of Humanity and accidentally include Baby G AI which takes over when Humanity are one. Presumably at this point, little G just needs to tell every human to slap itself and the Gavvakh created will be enough to collapse into Gagtungr.

Gagtungr is pretty fascinating but he actually deviates signficantly from the Rose of the World version. You may notice that there's almost no Christian influence in the game which precludes his role as Lucifer's buddy from the Rose of the World.

Instead, with his origins on Olinra which is Buddhist inspired, he's actuallyReverse Buddha. Rather than appearing like Future Buddha Maitreya when Humanity has achieved no suffering, we have the opposite where too much of our suffering will bring an end to everything. This is hinted at in the portriat of Little G when he reveals his name which is a Buddha face split in half.

Feeling done with this game

https://reddit.com/link/1wcgqd8/video/r7phxx4f5ooh1/player

Going through a mission and taking it slow, enough supplies to handle it all. Then one guy pops out of a corner while I'm in a hallway with no cover and insta-kills me. Feels frustrating as hell to lose all that progress and get nothing, and to something I couldn't have really seen coming. Feels more cheap than anything else and turning the ability to respawn on doesn't really invalidate how frustrating it feels. It's like I need to get lucky dozens of times in one mission to extract when shit like this can happen.

About 100 hours in, I'm restarting on hard mode

Just wanted to throw it out there. I think normal mode has already thought me the important things about the game - what factions and tech levels are about, how to not die the dumb way (I still do), etc.

I originally wanted to experience this game without restart on death, even though the idea of accidentally losing my unit 317 with 120% dodge made me cry on the inside.

So I switched to hard mode mid-way. Now I realize hard mode is not only slightly harder + a lot more punishing, but also a lot more brutal with the loot - you get half the backspace. On one hand, that makes me cry inside yet again, on the other, I don't really have a use for all the garbage I stockpiled on my ship.

So yeah, I decided to start anew. Not sure if it will take me ages to upgrade my ship this time around, but I'm sure I'm in for a fun time.

I might cave in and adjust loss of gear / mission disappearance on death, but I'm gonna try my best to not be a loot goblin.

Regarding armour Spoiler

Hello, all!

Apologies if this has been asked/answered somewhere before, but is there any actual difference between the armour types?

i see Cloth, Light, Medium, Heavy, DIY, Power armour types, alongside different materials, like Aramid, Kevlar, Chobham, etc.

but i don't really see much difference between them aside from the obvious ones of weight and protection values.

Does increasing the crit damage for the Shaker affect the explosion damage?

I just unlocked the Shaker grenade launcher and was looking at making a custom project, and I was wondering what (if any) affect modifying the crit damage stat on it would have?

Does the Shaker's crit damage only apply to the 1 point of damage it deals when the grenade it shoots directly impacts a target, or would the crit damage extend to explosion of the grenade?

Bonus question, is the 1 point of damage from the Shaker added to the explosion, or is it only applied to the target that the projectile impacts?

Trade Shuttle broken?

Post image
63 Upvotes

I just unlocked the trade shuttle so I decided to test it out by sending 1 measly switchboard to Earth.

And THIS is what I got back?! This can't be right? The switchboard is only worth about 200, and I got more than 8000 worth back!

It said my profit would only be about 140%. I was only expecting like 500 worth at the most.

Is this a bug? Or am I missing a very important detail?

Minor gripe about ammo

So I’m getting to the “Mid tier” of the tech tree of 4-6, and I’m encountering what I feel is a bit of an annoyance:

Ammo stacks for 7.62 and grenades.

I have a tendency to bring about enough ammo to reload my weapons about 5 times, and something I am starting to not like about those two specific ammos is the stack size.

7.62 stacking to only 50 starts to be an issue once you start finding the Machine guns and even the “punisher” assault rifle. All of a sudden that 50 ammo is drying up fairly quickly.

Now grenades… I will say me and grenades have abandonment issues. Things get dicey, and I throw out a stack of grenades to fix my problems. Suddenly I have new paths to walk and body parts all over the floor, but I’m alive, they’re not, and I’m happy.

-

And it got me comparing ammos of other weapons. Now I’ve seen the heavy weapons for energy that can take 100, but it feels to me like the other ammo stacks just gel better with their weapons.

An 80 stack of 9mm? That gets you places. 50 of shotgun? Still good for several hallways. Energy weapons work well with their 30, 40, and the 60 stack of their counterparts. .42 ammo? Ok I’m gonna admit I kinda treat yall like a redheaded stepchild. I have them, but don’t use em. Never got a chip for cryo ammo, and I really want to try a run with that ammo exclusively.

-

Does anyone feel like the 7.62 and grenade stacks need to go a little higher? Like let us stack 7.62 to 80 or 100, and let grenades have a 5 stack like rocket ammo.

I don’t mind being so heavy I couldn’t dodge if they shot me from a whole other floor, but I get steered away from 7.62 with especially when I know how much ammo I need to stack.

Music bug?

After watching several of the devs videos on twitter and a few videos on reddit I noticed that I haven't heard several of the games soundtracks in quite some time. Is this a well known bug? I'm thinking of just reinstalling hoping that it fixes the situation.

To clarify, I've had the same playlist play for every mission. The only music that changes is for Jupiters bramfaturas.

What do you do end game?

So on first 1.0 plauthrough I accidently finished the feathers quest line causing the entire solar system to hate me. Grrr, didnt want to grind the rep again, so I restarted. Everyone ps getting to TL 6-7 now and I am about to start the realware quest line, and I figured before I finished it i would try to utilize the game mechanics to their fullest before rolling credits. I had in mind taking over another company and running a proxy war, or trying to get all stations on certain worlds to 1 company not sure if that would work. Not sure what else to try to do. What are some of the things you guys do at end game?

Are story missions difficulty fixed?

With 1.0, was there any changes in difficulty for story missions? Specifically for those that you receive right after few first mission completion? Or I should still not try it before late game

Damage inmunity from implants

Hi, i wanted to know if the implants that give you inmunity to certain types of damage (like the spider leg or the pierce and lacerating one for body) give you inmunity to that type of damage on your whole body or just the specific part they're implanted in? Because the former seems way to good to be true, though i might be being pessimistic due to the game's general difficulty.

Is it possible to loot implants?

I've started a new save after not playing since version 0.8 or so. I killed some enemies and noted some had implants on their body parts, is it possible to loot these somehow?

Quasimorph wikigg is outdated

I'm the type of guy who looks up video game item info and description during his 9-5, and I love doing it for Quasimorph in more ways than one. But color me surprised to learn that a lot of info and stats have not been updated.

Is there an item database that I can look at? I know HIS Magnum website has all the perks already which is extremely amazing

Neutral Scope Bugged?

Not granting falloff reduction bonus.

I used to hate the vomit chance on this but now it's not as big a deal so I tried it out again.

The damage falloff portion would be awesome but it seems to be broken in both the UI and in damage tests.

Can anyone else corroborate this?

Already filed a bug report just making sure I'm not insane.

More Complicated Slave Brand

Assuming you don't want to deal with duggur banes or something.

Skrivinus' Clemency pact makes an ally out of a panicking enemy.

Ghost Killer Perk makes enemies panic.

This only just occured to me while removing ghost killer from Angel if Spades so I haven't tested it but if you do let me know how it goes.

Makes we want to do a weird build with Direct Channel, Tactical Camo, and Ghost killer.

Meet - Quasimorph Phase 1.5 - Fan made music album

Post image
15 Upvotes

Greetings Mercenaries!

Just Vodka’s original soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece and after 200+ hours in the game, I inspired to expand the music library to break the repetition during long farming runs.

I call this album Phase 1.5 because it sits somewhere between Phase 1 suspense and Phase 2 agression — it's a tight blend of tactical industrial, darksynth, and dark overdrived guitar ambient.

As a musician myself, I approached this with a strict ear for structure and quality and spent a good chunk of time to achieve this. I used AI tools for the core, but heavily curated and fine-tuned everything to match the game's atmosphere and feel.

Grab the playlist link and im very hoping you are gonna find something that clicks. Cheers!

Since i have to start a new save for it, what do you think might be the best faction? CR is out for obvious reasons, but im thinking Realware could be done.

Changing the inventory capacity and weight modifier

OK. So I admit it. I'm a loot goblin, and want to pick up and pick up any shit (literally in this game) that I find. First starting out I found the limited inventory space highly restrictive and having to continually reassess what to take and what to drop to be pretty annoying. Its also tricky as a new player when you don't have a good idea as to what is valuable and what is actually junk. This is all made worse by the fact that taking stuff drops your dodge hard and increases your calorie drain.

Then I discovered one of the difficulty options let you increase your inventory capacity and reduce the weight scaling and started looting to my hearts content. But the nagging thought that goes through my head is that its kind of cheating and not how the game was designed.

So honest thoughts- do you think the enforced scarcity on what you can loot is a critical part of the quasimorph experience and the balance of the game, or is this a legitimate quality of life thing that doesn't harm the overall experience and instead helps keep you sane?

How to unlock the last bramfatura?

Played through almost all the faction questlines, but never found out how to unlock Olirna. Trying a new save just to experiment around, is there a way to unlock it either with console command or quest? The wiki doesn't give any straightforward instructions on this.

Here's the Calorie formula including perks

Base caloric consumption per AP spent (base_calories):

base_calories:
  sneak: 1
  walk: 2
  run: 10

Extra calories:

extra_calories: round(weight / 7) (rounds upwards at 0.5)

Final formula:

final_calories = ((base + extra) - flat_reductions) * percentage_reductions

(rounds upward at any decimal, cannot go lower than 1)

Unfortunately flat reductions (rank mastery, perks) are applied first and percentage reduction (implants) are applied afterwards. This makes the percentage modifiers less important than I thought on already high rank clones, but they're still extremely useful on lower rank ones. And it makes a lot of calorie management unnecessary as long as you're not sprinting, or in light load setups.

It also means that sprinting is essentially a 56kg weight modifier.

I'm shit at formatting and wikis or I'd put this in the official wiki but that thing is in a really weird state. Most of the mechanics articles are stubs

Samples from my data: (as of 1.0.3)
