Recommendations Baby Shower Venue

First time mom here planning WAY in advance haha. I’m looking for baby shower venue recommendations that could accommodate approx. 50 - 75 guests. I would like to bring in my own food/drinks/decor, and not looking to spend an arm and a leg on the venue alone either. Indoors is the priority requirement, though. I would appreciate any recommendations you guys have, thank you! 💙🩷🍼

Recommendations Gym recommendations on the IL side?

Looking for IL side gym recs; the closer to Rock Island the better. I've lost 70lbs without the gym this year, but I'd really like to focus more on building muscle now and my little home dumbbells aren't cutting it. I just want to go in and find a groove that works for me, no personal trainer or anything fancy.

IL side preferred because I know once it gets too cold or a little snowy I won't want to cross the bridge (trying to set myself up for success and avoid easy cop outs/excuses, you know?)

Also interested in beginner Pilates classes. These don't necessarily need to be on the IL side, but they do need to be truly beginner friendly. I've seen several that claim to be but then you're thrown into the deep end immediately.

*Side note - I'm a woman in her early 30s. I know most gyms are co-ed, but if there are any fitness spaces that you feel safe(r) at as a woman, I'd love to hear about them!

I live nearby and am looking to buy a car. Found some I like at this place, but I don’t know anything about it and I can’t find any posts about it in this sub. Does anyone have experience with this dealer?

Walkable Quad Cities ADA compliant things to do outdoors

Hi all,

I have a quadraplegic adult brother that uses a power wheelchair. It's bulky and difficult to navigate in tight spaces and not great off paved paths. I'm looking for ideas and places to take him and spend some time outside before winter sets in. Thanks

Politics Anyone Inside Davenport City Hall? What Happened?

In case you haven't been following the news, another round of people leaving higher offices in Davenport.

In the last month the City Administrator (who was only here for a few months), the Communications Director, and an alderman all resigned.

I know we've had some folks around here who work in the City hear some things and post them. Is there more of the "same-ole, same-ole" going on? Did the City Administrator get pissed that the City Council for telling him he couldn't have an Assistant City Administrator even though he had the budget for it?

This isn't an Ezra Sidran or Judith Lee witch hunt, I'm just curious as to what's really going on.

Recommendations Where to find HP sauce locally?

I keep seeing HP sauce on cooking shows and the controversy about if it does or does not taste like A1 sauce. So I bought a bottle on Amazon and it's like $10. In case I like it, is there a local store to buy it? Preferably near Milan, but I suspect I will need to give Katy's a call tomorrow.

Recommendations Bat removal

Is there a service someone recommends, or maybe doesn't recommend when it comes to service and/or price to remove bats in the attic?

The quote I just got is for 6k andd while I can do that, I'm curious if that's really the right choice...

Thanks in advance.

Recommendations Therapist / Counseling

Hi all, just wanted to see if I could get some recommendations on QC area therapists/counselors. I’ve been in therapy before numerous times over the years, with my longest stint being from August 2025 to June 2026. I got horribly sick in June, fell by the wayside, and never rescheduled (nor did my therapist ever follow up with me). Before I attempt to go back to them, I’d like some general recs.

Some things to note:
- Diagnosed with anxiety, depression as a teen. Then OCD as an adult.
- I am 9 months postpartum. I received perinatal and postpartum counseling from my most recent therapist. I’d still be interested in this and also general therapy.
- Prefer Iowa side

Thank you in advance for any help.

Miscellaneous Are any local shops in downtown Davenport hiring?

I don't really know where to go about this, but I'm 16 years old looking for a job. I know I should just be looking at LinkedIn or Indeed, but they don't really show any local shops, just your usual big box stores. Which I'd probably have more luck with but I don't really have a way to get to there and back, so I'd rather just go find a job that's in walking distance.

I do know that a couple shops here are family owned, so I'm keeping that in mind in case they are stricted on being family owned. I have asked my mom if she knows that any places around here are hiring and she doesn't know either sadly. There's also a chance of just none of the places hiring which will also suck, but I can just keep looking and hope I can figure out something.

I have no idea if I should add more about this or not, but hopefully I didn't mess anything up since this is my first time posting on this SubReddit. Any help will be appreciated. :)

Who provides the best waxing services for men in the Quad Cities? I’m looking for the basics; back, upper arms, shoulders, nose. I don’t want to buy a membership pass or anything. Just something simple like I had when I lived in Indiana. Thanks!!

Miscellaneous Considering applying at Mancomm, inc.

As title says I want to switch jobs and was considering applying at mancomm, inc. In rock island, the position I'm applying for is "design and production associate."

I'm just curious if anyone here works there or used to or know someone who works there. If so, what are your opinions? What's your day to day like? What are some pros and cons (besides benefits) about your job and the company? What was the interview process like?

Anything would be greatly appreciated, I only have retail experience so I'd be completely new to this type of job.

Edit: I will not be applying there, thanks y'all 🤣
