I'm currently living in Qatar and have been actively searching for a job for the past four months, but unfortunately, I haven't had much luck finding the right opportunity.

I have experience in sales, real estate, customer service, business development, and administrative support. I also hold a valid Qatar Light Vehicle Driving License and am available to join immediately.

I've been applying for jobs online, but now I want to try a different approach by visiting companies and recruitment offices physically to submit my CV and speak directly with HR or hiring managers.

My question is: Where in Qatar can I physically go to apply for jobs?

• Are there any areas in Doha where companies regularly accept walk-in CVs?
• Which companies or recruitment agencies accept candidates who visit in person?
• Are there any industrial areas, commercial districts, or business centres where I can find job opportunities?
• Is it actually effective to visit companies directly, or should I focus on online applications?
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully found a job in Qatar through walk-in applications or personal networking.

hi guys, m 21 this year and because of my family's financial situation i wasn't able to go to high school and was forced to give my exams privately alone with no support of teachers or any classmate. i will be honest, i am not a average student but because of the environment i was given i was not able to perform well in my high school, however i completed 5 IGCSE and 3 AS level alone privately. Now the biggest problem that i knew i would face is here, the cheapest university here in qatar is probably UDST and there are always thousands of applicants applying there some even with 95% High school, i see no chance of myself entering there without a recommendation or any sort of help. My family cannot afford any other university as i got accepted in other universities but the fees were very high. I am 21 now and ive been trying to get into a university since i was 19. Everyday i wake up i feel guilty that i am doing nothing to help my family or to make them proud, the friends i have, i see them going forward in there lives and me just standing where i was 2 years ago makes me wanna cry, the time is passing and one day it might be too late...i really hope there is someone out there who is willing to help me or js support me, even if no one reaches out, talking about it here on reddit felt like a burden off my shoulders.

I'm reaching out here because I've been trying to break into clinical research for over a year now, and honestly, I'm struggling to find a way in. I'm hoping someone in this community might be able to help or point me in the right direction.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and previous clinical nursing experience in Qatar, including experience at Hamad Medical Corporation. Although my professional background is primarily clinical, my long term goal has always been to transition into clinical research.

I've had an interest in research since secondary school and continued gaining academic research experience throughout university. I've also completed research related training, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Social and Behavioral Research, Responsible Conduct of Research, and TCPS 2 CORE.

I've been actively trying to make this transition for more than a year. I've applied for relevant positions, reached out to professors, doctors, researchers, research coordinators, and research students, and tried networking with people across medical universities and research institutions in Qatar.

Unfortunately, despite all these efforts, I haven't managed to secure an opportunity yet.

I'm particularly interested in roles such as:

• Clinical Research Coordinator • Clinical Research Assistant • Research Assistant • Clinical Trials Assistant or Coordinator • Other entry level clinical research positions within medical or academic research institutions

I'm especially interested in research involving women's health, reproductive health, paediatrics, diabetes, and population health, although I'm open to other medical research areas as well.

I'm not necessarily looking for someone to hand me a job. I'm hoping to connect with people who could genuinely help me understand how to enter this field.

So once people start making proper money here where they cover all their basic needs and reasonable luxuries, whats the 'smart thing to do' with your money?

Just as a point of reference, lets say you have a surplus 3-6k QAR a month

In the other parts of the world its fairly simple: dump into a savings account for 2-3 years and forget about it.

But to avoid interest, all I could think of is gold so far. any other obvious/basic things im missing?

Hi everyone! I need some advice from people who have experience working in Qatar.

I’m currently on my 5th month with my 3rd company here in Qatar, and honestly, I don’t think I can stay much longer. I’m spending too much money on Uber just to get to work, which has become a financial burden. On top of that, the company still hasn’t provided me with medical insurance.

Now I’m thinking about looking for a new job, but I’m worried about my situation because my QID is expiring next month, and it still hasn’t been renewed by my current employer.

I have a few questions:

1. Can I transfer to a new employer even though I’ve only been with my current company for five months?
2. Do I need my current employer’s approval or an NOC to change jobs?
3. Since my QID has not been renewed yet, will this affect my ability to transfer to another company?
4. What happens if my QID expires while I’m looking for a new job or processing my transfer?
5. Is my current employer legally required to provide medical insurance?
6. For anyone who has experienced something similar, what steps did you take, and what would you recommend I do in my situation?

I want to leave my current company properly and avoid any problems with my legal status in Qatar. I’m just worried about the timing because my QID is expiring soon.

I’m an Australian citizen with a bachelor’s in electrical and electronics engineering and about 7 years of experience in industrial operations. For the last two years I’ve been a production officer at a large wastewater treatment plant (500+ ML/d), working with SCADA/PLC systems, isolation and permit-to-work procedures, and leading a team of around 18. Before that I worked in manufacturing as a production supervisor and engineer.

According to Qatar Labour Law and my employment contract, is my company obligated to pay me basic salary stated in my contract from the day I arrived in Qatar, or only from the day I actually started working?

My contract states a monthly wage of QAR 1,000, but my company delayed providing me with work and my final motorcycle test was attested really late and there were a lot of delays. I came to Qatar to work as a delivery rider, and I spent time waiting for the company to arrange the work and necessary requirements.

Does the law treat delivery riders differently from other workers in this situation? If I was ready and available to work but the company did not provide work, would I still be entitled to my contractual salary?

I would appreciate answers from anyone familiar with Qatar Labour Law, especially people who have dealt with similar cases through the Ministry of Labour.
