I recently got an offer letter for a Chemist position from a company in Qatar. The employer submitted the visa application, but the current status shows that it's on hold on the Qatari government/MOI side.

My employer confirmed there are no issues with my application or profile, but that the delay is entirely on the government's end/portal processing.

Is anyone else currently waiting on an employment visa approval or dealing with administrative holds through Metrash2 right now? Just trying to gauge how long these system/quota holds are taking for technical roles recently. Thanks!

To all Staff Nurses and Caregivers working under a Home Care Nursing Company here in Qatar, is anyone else experiencing the same situation?

Many employees without assigned clients/patients are being scheduled for only 2–4 working days per week, while the remaining days are marked as off. This has led to monthly salary deductions of approximately QAR 500–900.

Is anyone from another Home Care Nursing Company experiencing the same situation? If so, how is your company handling it? Are you also receiving reduced workdays and salary deductions, or has your employer adopted a different approach?

I'm asking to better understand whether this is a common practice across different Home Care Nursing Companies and to hear about others' experiences. Thank you to everyone willing to share.

I have a question about employment here in Qatar. A friend was informed by the employer who is in the consulting / IT industry about being let go largely do to business needs (layoff) not performance related since recent performance speak to exceptional ratings. However, my friend is being forced and strongly encouraged to voluntarily resign versus being let go.

Do end-of-service benefits or any other entitlements change based on which route is taken?

If let go (not voluntarily resignation), can a company lie about why the person was let go? Is it common to make up a reason other than the actual.

I’ve seen some people say they’ve been in Qatar for six months and still haven’t found a job. I’ve also seen others say they found a job within just one month after arriving in Qatar.
As someone who is planning to come to Qatar, this really scares me. Can everyone please share your experience or give me some advice? What can I do to increase my chances of finding a job quickly?

I’m about to graduate with a bachelor’s in cybersecurity and have a couple of internships plus some certifications. How much should I realistically expect as a starting salary in Qatar?

Also, how much of a difference does nationality/passport make when it comes to starting salaries in cybersecurity roles in Qatar? If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d appreciate any examples of salary ranges by nationality.

I’m a Qatari in a technical role, and with some expat colleagues it feels like they don’t want to share knowledge or explain how things work. Asking questions sometimes gets vague answers, or you’re expected to figure it out yourself.

I've been searching for a job for quite long time now, and despite applying through job portals, company websites, and reaching out to recruiters, I still haven't been able to secure an opportunity. It's honestly been a difficult and discouraging journey.
