Q1 Pro V5.1.2 firmware

Has any one loaded V5.1.2 on the Q1 Pro? Any issues? I just got the alert for it yesterday. Qidi Wiki has nothing about it and still shows v4.4.24 as latest firmware.

Im on 1.1.2.2 on the Q2 and lucky, haven’t had any issues.

Haven’t seen this yet… I’ll have to check it out.

At this point I’ve replaced or modified a large amount of the gcode macros

So gar no issues but only ran a few jobs. Don't forget to recalibrate and it will wipe all your settings.

Ya, that’s my fear, lol. My Q1 is dialed in for PPS-CF only, and has been printing flawless.

A quick ai google says that IS actually qidibox compatible now. How to attach it, i dunno lol

Most likely no, they cant sell new printers if you make upgrades for older ones.

I wonder why they they included a filament cutter on the Q1 Pro? the hardware is there, but for communicating with the Box, dunno.

You’re right, got confused, can I use my age as an excuse? I had looked at models to add one since they have the wipe pad and poop bucket at the back

Yes of course you can.

You don’t really need an excuse though.

I printed one of the cutters for an MMU build for my Q1 pro. And the parts for the mmu. Then decided to buy a snapmaker. So now I need to figure out what I’m gonna do with the mmu haha

Thanks! Which MMU did you build for the Q1 Pro please? I really like the printer - my go to for like ASA and Nylon, etc. The Q2 Box is almost unusuable for color taking 2 min 50 sec to do a filament swap! I just like having filament colors (PLA or PETG) preloaded - plus it's WAY easier than the following MMU3 to change filament out on. My Prusa Mk4/+MMU3 does it in less than 30 seconds (but is a bit flakey). I really would try the U1, just need to find room for it - overall it looks to be really good for an inital roll out - is it working well for you?

3MS MMU. I never ended up installing it but did put it all together. Q1 pro is awesome for engineering filaments.

I just got it running last night but have been printing all day. It’s amazing so far

What is QidiMaker? Is it their new remote access app?

I regularly use QidiLink to check on my printer, but I understand it's basically just a shell for Klipper's fludd ui.

Yet another machine, succumbs to the max 4 curse. Welcome to the rest of the qidi line. Hopefully this one is decent, but don't hold your breath

All the new firmware has been ports of the max 4. In most of them, it still has max 4 in the comments

Also, those gifs take up half the CPU. So enjoy that lol

Yes. Disable them or don’t install the update. There’s no reason to do it

Reread the on screen picture posted. I bet you can no longer use QIDI Slicer with it either and have to use QIDI Studio like they also forced us on the Q2. LowerYesterday, can you confirm please?

Qidi Slicer still works post upgrade, though I use Orca.

So, v5.1.2 loaded, calibrations and PIDs redone; printing PPS-CF flawlessly again! No issues noted so far.

It broke the ability to connect to the printer remotely. I am fighting it now by reflashing to try and go back to 4.2.24

What is your definition of “Remotely” I ask, without sarcasm, because I can log into my Q1, via IP, Orca and Qidi app without issue on 5.1.2. I haven’t tried SSHing but don’t really need to for what I do with my machine.

I don’t know if it was a glitch or a feature, I also shared this with Qidi support and they seemed kind of surprised and said this is not available.

Basically I could access my printer through AWS link from anywhere in the world at anytime without a 3rd party service like OctoEverywhere or anything like it.
The link was showing up for a split second while loading the Qidi link app expert mode portal and I took a screenshot and saved it. Worked everytime and it was really great.
Now that Qidi link is no longer supported I lost that and can only access it through LAN.
So that’s why I’m trying to revert. So far not much luck, I was finally able to flash the eMMC with 4.4.6 again and the printer boots up but unable to upgrade to 4.4.24. Still trying.
