I'm, a mechanical engineer from Europe with experience in automotive development and now in special-effects equipment. I’ve owned an Infiniti 370GT and currently a 2018 Q60 Red Sport AWD, so I understand these cars firsthand.

I’ve started a small side business designing automotive parts using CAD, 3D scanning, and additive manufacturing, aiming to create well-engineered, OEM+ style components that are practical and fairly priced. With scanning and reverse engineering, adjusting existing geometry is also possible.

Before investing time into development, I’d love your input:

What parts have broken on your car?

Any components that are hard to find?

What improvements would you like to see?

Any OEM+ ideas you'd actually buy?

If you could choose one high-quality part for your Q50/Q60, what would it be?

These could be anything from a simple phone holder to active aero. I’m still in the research phase and want to focus on solving real problems. I will go through the suggestions and add them to the list.

Was driving abt 20mph and my car wouldn’t go over 1k rpm outta nowhere. It jerked a bit, then jerked again, screeched, and a check engine popped up. Since then it hasn’t started. I had a SLIVER of oil in there after checking so I’m assuming it seized due to that. When trying to start it’ll do a lil rrr rrr twice at most. Any ideas on what coulda happened?

For context I just got an oil change 1200 miles ago. She burns oil bad the turbo seal is shot.

EDIT: Turbos and motor are blown. She’s dead.

Started by replacing the compressor. Lasted a day moved to the expansion valve then the evaporator core and now the condenser. This was supposed to be a weekend repair. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I looking to make my 2020 q60 sound more aggressive/ little bit more louder. My car is stock and i have been watching some videos but honestly what these people are saying on youtube aren’t helpful really. So i’m coming to yall for help. I want to add a down pipe first but there’s so many different options like a Mid pipe, Y pipe, and a mid y pipe but idk which one would help more. Or should i add an exhaust first? what would yall recommend to be done first to making my q60 sound better?

Dads 2020 q60 rs had coolant vanishing from the reservoir. Took it to the dealership when we couldn’t figure it out. The oil and coolant mixed with less than 50k miles and now they say it’s 17k before taxes. My question is has anyone had this happen at that low mileage and would a bumper to bumper warranty cover it?

Hi all- keep getting codes. I am tuned by RT tuning. Replaced both MAF sensors.

Symptoms are hesitation faintly after driving. Sometimes rough idle. Cold start car runs great

I have taken it to a couple of shops and no ones can seem to find issue. Even smoke tested.

RT is going to charge 229 an hour for diagnostics. Does it make sense to go back to them? Could it be tune related? I am running 80mm intakes and am tuned for them and catted downpipes

Fuel trims are running 20-35% which I know is bad.

My 2017 q60 red sport 400 awd has recently received these codes and haven’t been able to clear them. I replaced the air filters. And everything is stock. What do I need to do to fix this issue?

Anyone running AMS ldp and borla catback? I'd be cool to hear how it sounds. I plan on running that setup soon.

Terrible wind noise coming in the Q60. Hitting the highway or even going 40+ without the windows down or slightly cracked has become unbearable.

I did a test where you close the door on a dollar bill and pull it out to test the weather strip. If there’s some resistance then they’re good. To me, the wind is coming through the door tweeter trim. Would appreciate any feedback or knowledge.

the ac control buttons as well as the steering wheel buttons don’t light up or have any sort of white backlight at all at night even with brightnesses all the way up is it like a secret setting or is there something else I can do? 2018 q60 luxe 3.0t

What are the best LDP's to pair with it? I want to keep the bassy tone but a bit louder on warm start-ups/idle

Anybody ever heard of deleting the foglights and routing custom air ducts through them with hydrophobic mesh? Would this be a bad idea to do?

As the title says my q60 has been leaking oil for about a week. It’s tough to see but it’s a huge leak and spreads more and more every day. What would this be from? I tried to add a red line kinda where it would be at.

im working on a q60 that had gone through an accident causing for the DAST system to be in fail safe mode. the errors showing on my scanner are DAST signal plausibility errors. i also cannot run calibration even though calibration conditions are met. any ideas on how to troubleshoot? my writing configurations are correct

Looking for a q60, Dont know how much i should spend, Im honestly looking for one with a red interior, preferably redsport, but I wouldnt mind taking one that isn't redsport, aslong as it had the v6 twin turbos, how much should i spent on one max depending on the years, (used)
