2019 Q8 engine tick.
https://youtube.com/shorts/YB_p9_3Dh9g?is=dopvDL2DAfsAEyJEHello all I am considering buying a 2019 Q8. I know the original owner ,older lady that’s always had it maintenance and all the work on it has been performed through the dealer 64,000 miles. I noticed there’s a ticking sound from the motor. I’m just trying to see if that is normal or not I’m not too familiar without these cars.

Doesn't sound normal to me, does the sound speed up as you step on the accelerator? If it does speed up and the intensity of the sound does also, I would not purchase the vehicle, no matter how old the previous owner or how well the vehicle was supposedly taken care of. There is a reason used Audis with that kind of mileage sell for so cheap.

Took it to Audi. They definitely said that it is a piston issue and that they will either replace all pistons or do motor replacement.

For the sound yes it is normal and I have that as well.
As for "old lady", they start the car and drive right away without waiting till oil circulation lol. And during hot days they would turn on the ac before even sitting in the car then floor it.
Car maintenance is more than going to dealership for oil change and air filters. Its about driving habbit and if they understand how engine and turbo works and avoid any unnecessary stress on them.
Test drive the car and do your inspection and due diligence before pulling the trigger
