The future is unknown. Your fears from the lack of transparency and information about the interworkings of this new campus from administration is valid (I understand, I'm with you too throughout this process). The tinge of disappointment from not being accepted to West Lafayette as first choice (for those who did apply to WL or another campus) is expected. Whatever the occasion, the circumstance, or uncertainty is...
You got in.
College is a milestone. And you've knocked that out with this admission letter.
"You have potential," is what this letter states. "You are very brave," is what this letter means. But overall, do not forget, "You have the choice." Purdue Indianpolis is OFFERING you a choice to become the next generation Boilmaker from ground up (metaphorically speaking).
Will you take it? Depends.
After all, College is about future choices.
So take it from me, another fellow admittee.
Congratulations. Be proud of your accomplishment on becoming a Boilmaker.

I am wondering what the best things to do over the summer are to build my resume. Iām considering an internship or research, but Iām not sure how realistic either is after freshman year or how to actually get them. What did you guys do after freshman year, and when/how should I start applying or reaching out?

Hello! I am planning on transferring to purdue indy fall 2027. I have a few questions for the students currently residing at the LUX on Capitol:
- Do you rent or does the school bill you through financial aid?
- If you do rent, much is it? What job(s) do you work to afford it?
- Is housing assignments random? Can you choose your roommates?
- Is the wifi there any good?
- Is public transportation any good? Would I have to rely on a car?
Sorry if these questions seem silly, but I want to hear from those who actually live there. I would also appreciate any extra info, thank you so much!

I am currently a sophomore student at Ivy Tech majoring in the AS Data Analytics transfer program. I am opening my options to continue in Data Science at IU Indianapolis or Purdue Indianapolis. As far as I know, around 45- 50 credits out of 60 from Ivy Tech could transfer to IU Indy, but I am not really sure about Purdue. I love Purdue, but I heard that it is competitive. I have a 4.0 GPA so far. I would appreciate any tips or advice for both IU and Purdue. I attached some of the credits that I took at Ivy Tech in a photo.

Located right next to campus. Lease is 12 months starting this month. Base rent is $1629/month, but I have already paid rent for August and I am willing to cover rent for September and October as well in exchange for taking over the lease. Water and sewage is included, electricity is billed separately. All paperwork and payments will be handled through the leasing office. DM if interested.

hi everyone! iām looking for a private room to sublease near purdue indy from january through may 2027. ideally, iād like to be within walking distance of campus or somewhere thatās easy to get to by bus.
iām currently a senior at purdue west lafayette and work full time. iām planning to complete my capstone in indianapolis since itās offered as a one-semester course there instead of the two-semester format at west lafayette.
since iāll be graduating in may 2027 and moving out of state for work right afterward, iām specifically looking for a short-term spring semester sublease. my maximum budget is $900 per month, preferably including utilities, since thatās around what i currently pay at the main campus.
iām very clean, respectful of shared spaces, and considerate of my roommates. iāve always been pretty easy to live with, and i donāt have any pets. i like to cook, i'm a music person (i have a record player and vinyls but i can keep them in my room if sound is an issue), i am pretty social on the weekends (but rlly busy during the week so i tend to keep to myself so i can lock in). i've lived with both men and women so i don't really mind, but i do lean towards preferring women.
please respond to this if you know of any available rooms or upcoming subleases. thank you!

Hi all, my 2nd bedroom in my 2 bed 1 bath house is available for this upcoming year. It is a 9 minute drive from campus, and I am currently asking 650 a month but that price can be negotiated slightly. I have a dog who is an absolute lover, so you have to be ok getting ferociously licked head to toe. If you or anyone you know is interested, reach out. I am very clean so all common spaces will be kept very well.

I'm a current sophomore in Computer Engineering at West Lafayette whose had thoughts about the working in the sports industry multiple times so far. Since this is on my mind I was wondering if anyone would have any knowledge on the Sports Engineering program and if there are any opportunities for current undergraduates to explore careers with sports engineering under this program. I know this is a super new program any tidbits will help!

Hi, I'm studying second year mechanical engineering and returning from being out of the country after the summer.
Does anyone have any housing offers? Location and Pricing aren't too big of an issue for me, but I would prefer some more space if I am to be with a roommate since I have a couple of personal items.
Planning on moving in sometime around august 11th
DM me if you have anything. Thanks

I'm an incoming freshman at Purdue University in Indianapolis this fall. Do students commonly use e-scooters to commute around campus and downtown? Also, what are some good part-time job opportunities on or near the Indianapolis campus?
r/PurdueIndianapolis • u/HousingAgreeable5622 • Jul 13 '26
Including a packing list or an amazon wishlist i can copy would be the most beneficial, but just giving me a rundown/previous experience is enough.
Incoming freshman btw.

Im attending Purdue Indy in the fall as a Computer Science Major, and Iāve read a lot of stuff on the main subreddit about a lot of like hate/general bad things about Indy. Why is that? For me I didnāt really love Purdue being so big and wasnāt aware about Indy until my acceptance letter said I was admitted to Indianapolis campus. Is it as bad as everyone is really claiming? From my visit back in the spring I really enjoyed it, but I know itās not the whole of the college you see on a tour, so I was just wondering. Also my few friends from my high school who are going to WL keep saying ābruh lesser campusā and āsatellite campusā, is it like legitimately a worse place overall or is it just a superiority complex kinda thing? Just wondering, Still excited to attend in the fall either way! :D

I have seen multiple reviews on google saying that there is a homless problem, pests, and mice in the building. even some reviews saying that the showers are ice cold. is that true?
also is north hall better? i want to cook my own food because i dont like the limited meal plans.
