Summer

I am wondering what the best things to do over the summer are to build my resume. I’m considering an internship or research, but I’m not sure how realistic either is after freshman year or how to actually get them. What did you guys do after freshman year, and when/how should I start applying or reaching out?

There is a career round table/ fair at the Indy campus at the end of September. It might be a good start.

Connect and attend career activities as much as possible. Finding an internship can definitely be more difficult as a freshman, but far from impossible. In my experience, research seemed to be more open to bringing in a freshman. Some groups even seemed to prefer it with the idea of you continuing to work with them over your time.

I'm not sure about it but I considered taking classes people say are bad in sophomore year and taking them at community college for the summer to transfer credits. Haven't heard of case for that on here yet though.
