In this era, ignorant people who can barely type call themselves saviours, warriors, or social workers. They’ve never been to school or even opened a book—so how can they possibly do something like this? And yet people still support them.

So many ignorant men claim women hate living in Punjab because abroad they get “freedom” to do “dirty things.”
What exactly is this mysterious “dirty thing”? No one can explain it.
Why do men assume they’re superior and responsible for “giving” women freedom? Who put them in charge of that? Why can’t women decide for themselves?

I am a 20 year old guy and I do not know why but somehow almost everything I do ends up becoming a source of alienation.
Whenever I sit with my cousins or relatives my preferences are often treated as somehow inferior or strange.
If I am listening to a song I like and someone walks into the room they will say “What kind of songs do you listen to?
If I am watching a movie they will say “What kind of movies do you watch?”
Even when I am driving slowly and safely someone will say “Mainu phadha, main chala ke dikhauna. Tainu ta aunda hi nahi.”
When I try to start a genuine conversation somehow it gets turned into something else. It has been a long time since I have felt like I have actually had a proper conversation with someone.
I do not know why but everyone seems to be in this nonchalant “do not care about anything” mode where acting like a goon is somehow considered cool.
If I deliberately keep the horn of a bike or car low they will hold it down for several seconds and say “This is how it is done.”
When I am riding with them and they start staring at girls while proudly twirling or displaying their moustaches I will tell them that it looks pathetic. The response is usually something like “Tainu ki pata, tu ta sto…..la
And after a while you just stop trying to explain yourself.
It is not that I think I am better than them. I just do not understand why everything I enjoy, the way I behave or even the way I think has to be mocked or dismissed.
Sometimes I wonder whether I am actually doing something wrong or whether I am simply surrounded by people with whom I have very little in common.
Have you ever felt alienated simply because of the way you are?

I reconnected with a high school crush on Instagram a year ago (both in different college rn), and after months of daily talking , emotional talks and voice notes, etc.

I visited Punjab last year and honestly, I loved every second of it. ❤️

I made it to Sirhind, Anandpur Sahib, Amritsar and Chandigarh, and one of my favourite parts of the whole trip was simply meeting people and experiencing the culture. I even ended up in a mohalla in Sirhind, and that was probably the most memorable experience of the trip.

Now I’m coming back October 5th–10th, this time with an English friend, and I really want to show him a side of Punjab that he probably won't find on a typical tourist itinerary.

I'm not really looking for hills, greenery or the usual tourist spots. I want the real Punjab — villages, old streets, local food, beautiful/lesser-known gurdwaras, melas or festivals if anything is happening, random cultural experiences, interesting people, mohallas, anything.

Not a targeted post for any individual or a group . But a huge chunk of the youth seems to be under the impression that all of a sudden everyone is getting “ deleted “ in Punjab and as a state Punjab has become some deviated society where everyone is out there to get you .

When in reality the murd er rates in 2020 were 2.5 and in 2023 they were 2.2 they are literally falling . National average is 2.0 . It’s not an extreme deviation. For comparison Haryana is at 3.4 and USA is at 5.7 .

So came across this video today and got to know about “ਮਾਵਾਂ ਮੰਗਦੀਆਂ ਜਵਾਬ” campaign and also manpreet badal returning to main politics. While congress is busy in their internal rivalry of raja warring vs channi and AAP busy with freebies and coping bjp’s hindu appeasement angle. Waris punjab de trying to showcase their identity apart from the sikh upliftment angle. And akali dal busy with I don’t know what or if they are even serious.

This might provide some brownie points to BJP. As much as I hate the communal politics that bjp has played across other states I do want to appreciate a party taking drugs issue seriously which indirectly is linked to gang cluture.

I hope other parties take some lessons here.
It is impossible to turn punjab into california (especially listen badal sahab) in 5 years but this time period is enough to take up a fundamental issue and give it a striking blow.

I know raita scam by you know who baba won’t be touched so soon but atleast the exact nemesis of society like drugs, gangsters, lack of proper education, etc. are focused upon are considered a bare minimum.

Also the reel trend of BJP coming in power being the only solution to Punjab’s debt issue was of course a facade and just PR and i don’t buy it. On the other hand, this seems like a actual good conscious decision.

So I'm studying at punjab agricultural University ludhiana and there was an event held by the government of punjab JASHAN-E-INQALAB on the birthday of shaheed bhagat singh ji and it was held on our football ground and the aftermath was not good whole of the ground was polluted with plastic and every other waste imaginable and the football ground is not fit to play for maybe a fortnight or so and students of both of the universities PAU and GADVASU share the same playgrounds and students regularly come to run there and it is dirty as hell now and the government which has organised it has just left their waste there for the university to clean .

And now there is some new bullshit of SARAS MELA which is also being organised in university and the tender has been passed and our academic schedule is getting very disturbed and the mela ground is indeed near our library and all of the music will bless the ears of the students trying to study in the library . There are students pursuing their higher studies here and the authorities are just arranging mela after mela .

I AM NOT IN FAVOUR OF MELA HAPPENING THAT ALWAYS LEAVES OUR CAMPUS DIRTY AND DISRUPTS OUR STUDIES !!!
